You overlook a multi acre, grassed, mound covered field, but sit in the trees. The 50 amp sites were difficult to level a motor home, however a 5th wheels should not have this problem. The museum is very informative--seems likes an isolated spot--but you are very close to the town. We would camp there again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed my stay (2 weeks). You are only supposed to stay 14 days max, but they have people living there full time which isn't good. And, if you ask, you could stay longer. Not supervised and not many people staying there, so it can feel like you are pretty isolated. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is located inside the Moundville Archaeological Park, which is located about 15 miles south of Tuscaloosa on Hwy 69. The 32 gravel sites, some mostly dirt, all have water and electric hook-ups. All the hookups I saw were on the wrong side of the site. There are a few sites near the front that have sewage. Of the sewages sites, #6 is the only one with appreciable shade. Some of the sites are a little short for most RV's. But, there are plenty of big sites. This is a perfect park for bicycling as there is a big loop road that is flat. Except for the train crossing that is about .5 mile away, this park is very quiet at night. The train never woke us up. Since there isn't much to do here except tour the museum and mounds, this is a great place to sit back and relax. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
