We have been coming to this park for the past five years. It is an ideal park for us. It has a pool, four-hole golf course, activities center, laundromat, and numerous onsite activities run by long term park residents. The residents are friendly, the lots are large, and there are many offsite activities such as golf and casino trips. The rates are reasonable, but are going up $50.00 a month next year. It seems like the ideal setup. Unfortunately, the park is badly managed. Pool hours have been changed from a 7:00 a.m. opening to a 10:00 a.m. opening by a unilateral manager’s decision. My wife and I liked to take part in an early morning swim and the Water Aerobics program that used to run in previous years. With the change this year, the opening time conflicts with other park and offsite activities. The Water Aerobics is now gone, which is unfortunate because it is an ideal exercise activity for those of us in our retirement years. The golf course conditions vary from one week to the next, with sporadic closures and uneven maintenance. The “new” activities center that was promised a few years ago is now in place. But it is not open and with very little activity going on around the building, there is little chance it will open any time soon. The laundromat seems to have the same machines out-of-order from one week to the next: at one point there were only 3 serviceable washers for a very large park. The lots, although very large, have not been properly re-graded over the past couple of years, and a number of temporary residents are attempting to make their sewer hoses run uphill. It is really unfortunate that the park is so poorly managed. Every park has rules and regulations: I have no problem with that. The problem here is that any questions about the operations of the park are met with hostility and intimidation by management. My wife and I are probably going to look for another park for our long term stays: some place where we feel valued as residents and customers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Upon checking in we got a very rude welcome. They don't make you feel very welcome. They parked us in a nice large site. The only draw back to that was I had to park too far from the sewer connection and had to go to Wal-mart to get more hose....they would not allow me to move my rig closer even though there was plenty of room to move back another 10 feet. The people in the park seemed very friendly and there are lots of things to do. The grounds were dug up and some of the buildings need painting. There was a nice laundry room but a lot of the machines were out of order. I'm not sure that I would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park is largely seasonal and geared toward over age 55. Easy on/off of I-10. If you are staying for a week or more, you will probably get a very large back-in site; they have pull-thrus for a night or two. The pull-thru sites are smaller but still plenty spacious. The only restrooms and showers are near the pool; generally you are expected to use the facilities in your camper. People seemed very welcoming and friendly; there are a lot of scheduled activities such as Bingo, musical groups, excursions, etc. The laundry room is huge. I would definitely stay here again if in the Phoenix area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is overall a very nice, well maintained park that seems to appeal to people who are looking for an extended stay and can afford the moderately high rates (I paid $265 for one week's stay to spend a week taking advantage of the pool and exercise room after a couple weeks on the road with little physical activity). The pool and spa area is very attractive and pleasant but I was surprised that the (women's) showers/changing rooms did not "match" the attractiveness. I discovered the exercise room to be a joke with cheap, ineffective equipment (as a regular gym goer, I am familiar with proper, effective equipment.) I decided to forgo the "exercise equipment" and use the pool table in there--it was missing one of the balls! The park is loaded with trees, mostly citrus and if you are there in the right time of year, there is fruit galore for the picking. If you are looking for a place to relax outside during the day, be forewarned --there are continual flights of jets from Luke AFB flying overhead during the day. If you plan on spending a good part of your day in Phoenix--central Phoenix is about twenty miles away--this might not be a problem. This is a resort--an upscale park with upscale visitors. If you don't mind the noise from jets, it is a lovely place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed this park. We are 30 something campers and had a difficult time finding a park in the Phoenix area that was NOT a 55+ park. Destiny was one of three we found. The park is very large and we loved all the citrus trees. You are encouraged to pick them which made nice lemonade and grapefruit juice each day. The park power at this park was GREAT!! Sites were plenty wide and long (our rig plus truck comes to just under 60'). Loved how all sites were paved and level, made set up a breeze. Laundry room was fine. We didn't try the pool area but it looked lovely. Great views of the mountains around you. The landscaping was nice, saw lots of green places for being in the desert. While you may be a bit far from the main Phoenix attractions, there is a nice shopping area with a Wal-Mart, Safeway, banks and lots of shops and dining just one exit east. The only other thing this campground could use is cable TV, because we hate dealing with our satellite. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. We saw other parks nearby and many looked very desolate and nothing to write home about. We took lots of pictures of this park and were so happy with our stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice campground with a few notes. We were parked next to a great family, around our age (40ish) but most of the rest of the campers were full timers over 65+. Some were very friendly, but some down right ignored me - that's not the campground's fault though. The staff were pleasant enough, but not overly so to go out of their way. They were very accommodating when our arrival date kept getting pushed back, and they did put us next to people our age. The park is lovely - full of citrus trees everywhere (oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits). We had an orange tree in our "yard" area 5' from our door. The pool and hot tub are very nice. The drawbacks: the clubhouse could be nicer - no sofas to relax and watch TV, just metal fold up chairs. The exercise room leaves LOT to be desired. Mostly cheap equipment bought on ebay or the shopping channel, not even a proper treadmill or mats to lie on or a bench for weights. And it's in the basement with no air, and it hot and stuffy in there - next to the pool table. The area (Goodyear) is SO far from almost anything in the main city of Phoenix; it takes 30-50 minutes to get to anything (museums, Whole Foods market, downtown, shopping) so you end up spending a ton of money on gas for your car. I put over 500 miles in one week on my car. Security is good here, never had any problems. Also when heavy rains hit the city, we did not have a flooding issue like some of the other parks did. We camped for a month. We would likely, and may do so - stay here for longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It was a bit difficult to find the campsites in this park. Follow the signs for the Arena and you'll get there. The park also offers primitive camping for $10.00 per night. I saw what appeared to be these sites near the day use park and none looked capable of handling even a pop-up camper. There are seven total sites with full hook-ups, one occupied by the campground host. These are gravel, perpendicular back-ins and a bit tough to get in. But once in you'll find a beautiful smooth concrete patio with picnic tables and a great view. Despite what is noted in earlier reviews, each of these sites has 20, 30 and 50amp electric service, water and sewer. The sites are adjacent to a rodeo arena and the host said he could hook up "one or two" units at the arena with 20amp service and water. I examined this and you would need very long utility cords and hoses and the sites would be unlevel. There are no restrooms at the campground but while I was there the arena restrooms were open and clean. No showers. The host said that the hook-up sites fill up with park volunteers for the winter season from October until around May. I arrived to find only two sites available. Also note that the park is very close to Phoenix International Raceway. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Not really an RV park or Campground, just a parking lot with a few 20 amp outlets. Camp host was less than enthusiastic. Location is great for visiting the west side of the Phoenix area. OK for a night or two. Could be a great park if they would put in some RV sites. There are six "camp host" sites for people who work in the park and they are great! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a tiny little spot not many people know about. It was a great place for us to stay while visiting friends in Phoenix/Goodyear. There is no building. No showers. No office. There is a campground host who runs the little campground that is basically in the rodeo arena's parking lot. You choose from one of the seven remaining sites. You cannot come in after the gates close on your first night, because you won't be able to get in. The campground host is a good half-mile walk from the main road if you are locked out. (Once you register, you will get the code to the padlock on the gate.) The site were beautifully landscaped with desert plants, and a concrete patio was poured for each site. There was a lot of open space and virtually no other campers, so we were able to let our dogs run for a few minutes. There are many hiking trails and bridle trails. People bring their horses in trailers for trail rides here. It in in the Estrella Mountains, and the park is run by the county. There is no WiFi or phone, and the cell phone reception is somewhat spotty. You will have to drive into Goodyear to find a laundromat and grocery store. Still, a great campsite for the money, and a nice launching spot for touring Phoenix. We camped here in a Motorhome.
