With all the free camping in this area I don't know why you would stay here unless you are addicted to hook ups. The reservations manager Tamara has absolutely no management skills what so ever. She is down right rude and obnoxious. They charge way too much for the RV spots and charge extra for everything else, total rip off. The only good thing about Mormon Lake Lodge was the bartender Tiffany, who is lovely, friendly and has a great personality. But the food was not good and very over priced. My advice is DON'T STAY HERE! Unless you want to be told by Tamara "you have to go to bed at 10 p.m.". We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We used this spot as a base to tour Northern Arizona. Be advised that it is a *good* 30-45 minute drive southeast of Flagstaff but the driving scenery is wonderful. Two(+) hours to the Grand Canyon. One hour to Sedona. The park itself is spartan but clean. Everything worked properly. Sky filled with stars at night. The Lodge itself has terrific food. There are cabins available for rent as well. Horseback riding through Coconino NF is great. Petting zoo for kids. Buffalo herd on site. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
