Tips from campers about Murfreesboro, AR
- Stef R We rented our digging stuff at the park, if we ever go again I would rent it from one of the shops in town. Less expensive and the carts are much better. The parks carts are wooden and clunky, you also cannot take them out to your car to load/unload. Digging and sifting is hard work, we did not find any diamonds. There are 3 methods, wet sifting, dry sifting and looking for diamond on the surface. If we went back I would do the surface method, walk around the crater looking verses digging, take a garden hoe or shovel, a spoon or tweezers and something to put small treasures in. The sifting is fun and you may do better then us, just know it is HARD work. :-)1 month ago Crater of Diamonds State Park
- GinnyHaymaker Diamond Crater State Park costs $15 per person to dig for diamonds, and there were lots of people doing that. It was recommended that we go to the Mexican Restaurant and we did and loved it. The service was phenomenal and the food was very good and the prices were moderate. I also looked around in a little general store and got a nice latte on the square in town. The closest Walmart was about 13 miles away.2 months ago Murfreesboro RV Park
- The Happy Traveler Think carefully before spending your time and drive falling for this. Probably should be a privately held tourist attraction, not a state park. Great staff and people, but the odds of "winning" a diamond are probably better at a casino by simply looking on the floor, with a scratch and play ticket, and definitely with a raffle ticket for a "carat" cake.2 months ago Crater of Diamonds State Park
