We have stayed at this park often while visiting our daughter in Bakersfield. We liked it because it is out in the country and relatively quiet. Everything else about it, however, adds up to zero. It doesn't appear that anything has been done to maintain this place since it left the KOA family. No effort has been made to maintain the dirt roads which are full of large holes and are generally in terrible shape. They haven't even bothered to water the grass, which is now dead. Unfortunately, the place has become a dump, as evidenced by the fact that, other than the long termers, we were the only people in the campground. Too bad! It used to be a good alternative to the urban RV parks in Bakersfield. Next time we'll go elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We use this park as a stopover, in between northern and southern CA, as it has easy access from Hwy. 99. No frills, gravel roads and pads that are not level. It's a dump but ok for a quick overnighter. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Dirt sites with some grass and some shade. 30 amp electric, sites were level. Restrooms and showers were clean but in need of repair. No cable, internet data port was broken, no WIFI, some highway noise, no trains. Teenage kid running the office, swimming pool, propane, and a few food supplies. Don't know why no longer KOA, but the place needs some improvements. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Overall, we were pretty satisfied with this campground. The staff was very nice, the store was well stocked, and it had a fairly rural feel to it. It's apparently close to the path of planes to a local airport, but we did not hear anything during the night. The playground needs some improvement - it was just a set of swings and pull-up bars. No slide or anything. Good place to stop while traveling between northern and southern California. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stay here every time we are driving from Northern California to Southern California. It is near Highway 99, but has very little road noise. We always get the same spot, even though we arrive around 11pm. The restrooms are clean, with well lit approaches. The sites are long enough for us to not unhitch, and wide enough for the slider plus grassy area in front of door. The nearby gas station, with diesel, has great access for long RV's when returning to 99 in the morning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Even though park was only about 1/3 full, put us in a site next to a permanent resident
who had a lot of junk outside and two unleashed unfriendly dogs. Our site had huge rut filled with water. Requested and received another site from the clerk who was totally indifferent. Another couple after us had the same problem, given an an unlevel site with lots of standing water. Good bit of road noise. Interior road was in poor condition as well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
