This park had excellent shower and laundry facilities. They are trying to improve the campground, so there was work going on. It is completely gravel. Some grass between campers and some where dog walk was. There is a fenced-in area for dogs but the walk is all gravel and we felt there should have been a little more grass for the dogs to walk. The staff was very friendly and it is acceptable, but there are no extras here. Wi-Fi and cable were good, but one night we had a car to pull in beside our motorhome and they began to pile all their stuff on the picnic table and slam doors and this went on until after midnight. The next morning they got up early and started piling their stuff back in the car and slamming doors again. (This was a premium pull-through site and there were plenty sites for them to back in). When we made note of this to management because it made us feel a little unsafe that night - we were told, yes they came in late and left early. No further comment. Other than that episode, the campground was fine for visiting the area. Like I said they were cutting trees, had redone the restrooms and I think they are trying to upgrade. Probably wouldn't stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Typical KOA, Bathrooms and showers were clean and quite usable. Sites were very level and easy to access. Good Wi-Fi reception and cable TV. Good access to the town and surrounding area. We'll be back in the area and will stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for a quick overnight stop. The park is only about a mile from the freeway access but far enough away that you do not hear traffic. Finding it was not difficult but you do wind past some industrial/commercial businesses until you find the park along a quiet country road. As stated, the entire park is level gravel with only a couple of small grass plots for relief. There are also some trees at some sites. The staff was helpful, there is large wide sites and the park is well kept. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
As others have noted this is a nice park on the eastern edge of Grand Junction. The sites and facilities (FHU, cable TV, Wi-Fi and a pool) are good. You will need to drive to get to anything in town. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed this park, even though it was for only one night while in transit. It has level, clean, sites and is a friendly park, with trees. We would recommend it. There was good WiFi and Cable connections. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a nice level site at the end of a row, and it was very quiet - site C12. It was furthest away from the office and pool and close to a dumpster. It suited us well. Wi-fi was excellent - 5 bars, and free. Very efficient friendly staff. Only one negative was that the roads and campsite were of large gravel chips and it wasn't easy to walk. Good location for visiting Colorado National Monument and the town of Grand Junction. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a typical KOA although a bit on the small side. The sites are gravel and level. Between the sites are small grassy areas. Large shade trees throughout the park. The Wifi (free) and cable (60 channels) worked great. Electricity was fine. Water hookup was a little odd since every other site has the water hookup on the wrong side requiring two hoses to reach. However, a staff member offered us an extra hose in case we did not have two with us (we did have an extra). Close to grocery store (City Market). Right next to local fairgrounds which was having a rodeo type of event so there were horse trailers next door, not a problem and could actually be a plus if you time your visit to coincide with a popular event. Location is right on US highway 50, but road noise was minimal. All in all a nice park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gravel sites and roads. Rather large rock makes it difficult for dogs to walk on. Also difficult for children trying to ride a bicycle. Large spaces but only one water hook up for 2 spaces. This means that every other RV needs to run the water hose under your rig and hook up on the curb side. Bring 2 hoses to be sure to have enough hose. The first space we were put into was next to a TT with two large dogs. The dogs had been left chained up outside for an extended period and left several piles of feces that no one had picked up. One of the breeds was a Pit/Rottwieller mix. Both breeds were supposedly not allowed in the park due to insurance regulations. Upon bringing this to the attention of the park management, nothing was done. Upon our insistence we were given another space 4 spaces away. The laundry facility was nice with new front loader machines, although they were a little pricey at $2.00 per load. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean, well laid out facility. Approximately 10 miles from the Interstate but not difficult to get to. Restrooms were spotless. Would definitely stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Grand Junction KOA is your typical KOA. There is one section of pull-throughs that have grass between them. The rest are gravel spots 100%. The laundry facilities are only open until 9:00pm as they are located in the main store. The store is very small, with only essential things there. There is one bathroom/shower facilities for the entire campground. Each male/female facility have four showers and we found them clean and overall nice with tile and spacious room to move around in. The pool was a little on the small side, but it was very clean and the rules were strictly enforced. The campground has a small playground and a fenced in gravel area that they called a bark park. The back fence is the dog walk area. The KOA is a long way from I-70 and it is located next to the fair grounds. We happened to make our reservations very early not knowing this was fair week. The campground was completely full and the fair could be heard until late into the evening. Other then fair week, it is probably fairly quite (no pun intended). Highway 50 runs in front of the campground and the noise is evident most of the time. This is a great place to stop if your in need of a hub into Arches National Park. We were able to leave the campground and tour the park in about 6 hours. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We loved this state park. The park rangers were very nice and helpful. Though there's not a pool, there is a "swimmin" hole which is actually more like a pond. There's also a trout area for fishing and license can be bought as you enter the park. We hiked beside the Colorado River which was a definite plus. Along the hiking area, (which I believe is also the pet walk area) there were also "walk-downs" where you could walk a few feet from the path to get to the river and pick up stones or feel it's coldness and strength. The main bathhouses were nice, but the vault bathrooms reeked terribly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
First, this campground is actually one of five sections for the James M. Robb – Colorado River State Park. Those sections are: 1. Island Acres Section 2. Corn Lake Section 3. Colorado River Wildlife Area Section 4. Connected Lakes Section 5. Fruita Section. I rated this park so low for one reason only and that is road noise. All other aspects of this park I would rate a very favorable 9-10. First and foremost is it is located right next to Interstate 70. Sites 64-74 are no more that 5-15 YARDS from the Interstate. The site we stated in #78 was about 40 yards from the interstate. The vehicle traffic, in particular the heavy semi-truck traffic, was so loud (24-7) you literally could not carry on a conversation while outside. Having a hard sided trailer brought no relief. We even checked out the road noise from the farthest campsites 55-60 (located along the Colorado River) and it was still very loud. The sites along the river had to deal with train traffic as the tracks run on the opposite side of the river. The campground is located in a canyon and the road noise reverberates on the walls. What is an absolute shame is the fact that this campground is very well maintained, the campsites and laid out are excellent. The sites along the river are some of the best around. The scenic beauty was incredible (again except for the incredible proximity of I-70.) I spoke with the park personnel about why the campground was located so close to I-70 since they are well aware of the terrible road noise. All they could say is that it has been there a long time and it didn't use to be this way. It is apparent a lot of the truck traffic is associated with the natural gas drilling taking place all the way to Parachute, CO and, of course, the always present interstate trucking. Anyway, we tried to switch to the Fruita section (17 miles away) with no luck. Too bad, since it is anther very nice campground and located sufficiently away from I-70. Bottom line, our three day visit was an incredible disappointment and next time we visit in this beautiful area we will stay in the Fruita section. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a State Park on the Colorado River East of Grand Junction, off of I-70. No showers, but real pretty, and a good place to stay. Close to fishing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We paid the Good Same rate for full hookups. This is an all gravel campground in Colorado's high desert area which has, however, a very well maintained green grassy "park" area. There are fence rows between campsites. All sites have a magnificent view of the mountains. Everything is clean and very well maintained. Staff are courteous. Although there is no pool, there is a "fountain of fun" area for children. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park was okay for a one night stay. There seem to be a lot of full time residents which do not bring the park down at all. Very helpful staff. Close to shopping, food, and gas. Also very close to Colorado National Monument. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Price was with Good Sam discount. It is a nice park. There are lots of trucks next door but wasn't bothersome after dark. We got kicked off WiFi occasionally, otherwise it worked fine. Bath, shower and laundry areas are big and very clean. There is a book exchange and a nice children's play area. It includes a small store with food and some supplies. Our spot was level. It was not so much gravel as small rocks and somewhat hard to walk on. The TV reception not very good. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park sites are all gravel.Dust not a problem as there were frequent rain showers. We were assigned the last available site in "overflow". Our overflow site was nicer than some of the full hook up sites we have paid for in other parks. WiFi worked great. Office staff very friendly and helpful. Driving directions to park are a bit confusing so call ahead for help. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park is all gravel roads and sites separated by small fences. Gravel tends to make the park dusty from internal traffic and wind. Pull throughs are long enough for 40' motor home, but toad will probably have to be detached to fit in some sites. It is located in an area of trucking depots and heavy traffic with the resulting noise. That could be bothersome to some people. Wi-Fi was free and worked good. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park was a little confusing to find as it is located in a light industrial area. The staff was very friendly and check-in was easy and fast. The park has quite a few monthly or permanent residents but those sites are clean and clutter free so not a problem. Sites were gravel and level. We stayed here 4 nights, mainly due to bad traveling weather but our stay was comfortable. Weeknights were noisier because of apparent working activities in the industrial park but the weekend was quiet. The managers were very nice and helpful. This was a good spot to camp so we could sight see throughout the Grand Junction area. he Wi-fi was very good. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
An easy to get to park. We were at site #35 which is a pull-through, but had to back out from the site when leaving. The site separator fence and a 5th wheel with truck in front of us made it impossible for a pull-through exit with our 40-footer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed 3 nights while waiting to get our rig into the shop for some repairs. The first night we couldn't get a regular spot, but the park has an overflow area where we could still have electricity and water. We moved to a full hook-up site for the next two nights. The sites are very large and level with plenty of room to park a vehicle next to your rig. Everything is very well maintained and the lady in the office was nice. We didn't experience any noise problems from the nearby business parks. Our only complaint was that on our last night a very foul odor drifted over the park from a sewage treatment plant that is not too far away, but that's not exactly anything that the park has any control over! There is a lot to see and do in the area and the city of Grand Junction has a nice old downtown district worth a visit. Fall color in the Grand Mesa National Forest was fantastic! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park to spend a couple nights. Sites are level. Be sure to tell them you have a big rig and if you are towing because if you are towing and don't want to unhook some sites won't work. Staff is friendly and everything is clean. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate includes Good Sam discount and taxes. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The roads and sites are gravel and wide enough to make parking a breeze. There are trees in the park, but we had no problem getting satellite off our roof. I didn't use the WiFi, but my Verizon air card worked great. The park is located in a light industrial area, but we didn't find the noise level to be a problem. It rained during our stay, but the puddles that formed drained off right away. We only stayed for 2 days, but would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate includes taxes. We have stayed here several times in the past. The campground continues to provide a pleasant stay. While the surrounding area is light industry, we haven’t noticed offensive noise levels. The W-iFi is a little weak; however we have been able to use it at our site. We would recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We used to love this place. Between the large sites and the owners who are wonderful people that give great customer service, we just can't go back. The surrounding industrial noise and dirt has gotten so much worse. All the noise starts before the sun comes up and goes on til late at night. And because of the desert wind there is an unbelievable amount of dirt that blows into the motor home when you open the door and windows. Between the Fedex warehouse and their beeping trucks, the tremendous number of trucks going up and down the road (there are so many nowadays that they have destroyed several parts of 22 Road) and in and out from Schlumberger right next door and other industries in the immediate area, we left early. We would rather park on a quiet street in the area than come back to the noise that woke us up every morning and the blowing dirt caused by the surrounding industrial businesses. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed this park. The sites and roads are wide and easy to maneuver in. WiFi was good, at least close to the office. Most sites open enough for satellite. No cable. The surroundings are partly commercial and partly agricultural. Owners appear to be new and are very friendly and helpful. RV washing is allowed for $10. We will certainly stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We love this place because the parking sites are nice and long and wide. We can leave our trailer hooked up and have our vehicle parked right next to us. It's located in a very convenient area of Grand Junction, just a short distance from shopping and restaurants. The park managers are very nice and provide excellent customer service. We go back here about twice a year. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sadly, this once peaceful country park has been surrounded by industrial yards. There is a Fed-Ex truck terminal across the street that runs 24 hours a day, and a huge oil field supply company just down the street. Many other industrial yards are adjacent and across the street. Constant truck traffic up and down the street, back-up alarms on trucks, exhaust brakes, passing trains, and new construction make this is quite possibly the noisiest park you will ever stay in. In addition the park is almost full of oilfield workers who all fire up their diesel pickups at 5:30 am to go to work. This is sad for us travelers, because otherwise it’s a nice park with wide spaces, free WiFi, clean facilities, and a friendly staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park's advertisement in Trailer Life states "quiet country setting on 14 acres". This is false. It is in the midst of a heavy industrial park with absolutely no views. It was very noisy. The sites are fairly close together with no privacy. About 80% of the occupants are permanents who work in the area. The best thing going for the park are the clean bathrooms. We would not stay here again. We have a 40' motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites are WAY WAY too close together. Park is nice enough, but having your neighbor's wall 12 or so inches from yours is a little too tight. We'll check out another park next time... We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is about 1 mile off I-70 and easy to access. It is a big gravel parking lot. Sites are gravel, level & easy for a big rig to get in to. Roads are gravel & wide enough. There are a few trees, but they do not cause a problem. This park is OK to spend a few days while sightseeing in the area. It is big rig friendly. There was a caravan of about 20 Prevosts there one night. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean. Office personnel very helpful & friendly
Sites are gravel & very wide. EWS set up for easy access. Location is for sale! We camped here in a camper.

Extremely well managed park. Pet owners are in a separate section. Owners do not allow barking dogs on dogs without leashes. Very clean and easy to get into and out of. Management(Owners) are very friendly. We will stay there again. We camped here in a camper.
Urban mobile home park with some spaces for RVers. Management is mom and pop type. Not much for atmosphere, but is close to interstate interchange for traveling. Some noise from highway, and railroad. Dial up internet at office area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very difficult to find, especially if you arrive in early to late evening. Check in area was blocked by miscellaneous cars parked in the designated parking making it difficult to maneuver. Staff was very helpful when we called after missing the turn, directed us back to the correct turn and gave us a free night of WI-FI. Nice blacktop, pull-through site with shade tree but pretty tight and close proximity to neighbors. It was obvious that there were many long term renters, mostly construction workers. Overall, a nice park, if you can find it, for a short term stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The sites are very close and tight . If you need wide roads and lots of space this is not your place. Had large 5-wheel next to us and our slide outs were very close. We may not return, but the staff was friendly and more than helpful. The reason for low rating is close space and sewer drops. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Hard to find and get to the park. No signs along the road. Friendly staff. Long Blacktop spots Good roads in the park. Some trees. No WIFI. A little expensive for my taste with no special features. They have breakfast on the weekend. We may stay here again, but I think we would check out the other parks in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park, very well maintained and very friendly staff. They are "big rig friendly" though you will need to disconnect your toad for parking. Their check-in area has long parking for several rigs to park while checking in without blocking the entire driveway - something I really appreciate. Lots of shade trees and well maintained grass areas between sites made this a very nice experience for a week. We would definitely recommend this campground and will be staying there again next time we are in Grand Junction. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was very busy with Energy workers coming and going. Friendly Office staff but keep your receipts handy cause the system may not get updated quickly. We would stay again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Entering and exiting the campground itself was easy. Water pressure was excellent and electricity was good. This campground has a lot of potential, but the owner has succumbed to the temptation to populate his campground with a multitude of semi-permanent workers. Of the claimed 139 sites in this campground, I would estimate that less than 15 sites are available for short term larger RVs. This, in and of itself, is not bad except that there are either no rules, or the rules are ignored, concerning the number of vehicles that may be parked on each site. On most sites there are at least two in addition to the RV and in a large number of cases three and they are usually parked in a manner blocking the street. This makes it very difficult upon leaving to exit your site and get down the interior roads even though those roads are seemingly plenty wide. In addition, all kinds of extraneous appliances, spare tires, etc. are allowed to accumulate on sites where semi-permanent occupants are placed. I would stay here again, but the place needs some rules enforcement. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here back in '92 when it was still a KOA, and it's a little improved since then (it wasn't bad back then, either). At check-in, we were given a Good Sam discount. Our site was in the large area of side-by-side pull-throughs sharing center pedestals - we liked the long, long site since we didn't want to unhook for our one-night-stay. The sites were perfectly level. We also liked the closeness of this campground to the I-70, though it's not so close that you can hear the traffic. There's no cable TV, but you can pick up the major stations easily with antenna if you don't have a dish. For Wi-Fi you have to pay to use tengointernet (I paid $4.95 for 24 hours.) We would definitely stay here again if we needed a stopover going to and from Colorado. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Mostly level with adequate site size for large rigs. However they allow extended stay people to park any where and every where which limits your ability to maneuver around the park. The morning we left one extended stay site had three vehicles parked at their site with one blocking our exit route. The rates are expensive since they do not provide cable and WiFi is $4.00 per day. All this being said they probably are the best choice for the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park has easy access off Business 70. Park has paved interior roads and sites with some grass and medium sized trees on sites. Satellite TV reception was possible on our site, # 61. Reasonably friendly office staff. Found that Line 2 of 50 amp circuit has only 104 volts upon our arrival. Had to wait about an hour before we could run 3 room airs. Notified office and was told this is an older park, which needs to have their electrical system upgraded. WiFi available, but at extra cost. Most parks now include WiFi with site rate, so we were surprised. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here twice for one night stops on the way to the Rocky Mountains. The sites are easy to access and have quite a bit of space to fit tow vehicles and put out your awning. The park is laid out well and very well maintained. The campground is very clean especially the restrooms and showers. We didn't utilize the store or laundrymat. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Takes a sharp eye to find this place, even though it is immediately adjacent to the I-70 business loop, because their directions say "100 yards" when they should say "20 feet" (turn onto "F Rd" and IMMEDIATELY turn right, NO signs). When you do get there, though, you find a very nice RV park with all the usual facilities including a swimming pool that really felt great on a July evening. Staff was friendly & efficient. There is shopping nearby, plus several eating establishments if you want to go out. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very disappointed. I simply do not understand the statement this is the highest rated campground in CO by Woodalls. Either CO is in trouble or Woodall's never visited. Price is high, spaces small, charge for wi-fi, noisy, and then we receive a notice that it's too hot outside and to use only one A/C to be "kind" to our neighbors. Maybe they might want to upgrade the facility to handle this? It is obviously an old KOA. Folks are friendly enough and showers are clean. However, the small pool was occupied by at least 20 small children. Absolutely nothing against children, but we couldn't get in with all the running, screaming, and yelling. So, a quick overnight only, OK. Families, probably OK. Looking for a quiet spot, this isn't it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to stay in Grand Junction. Have stayed here many times before while heading up on the grand mesa to trout fish and enjoy the mountains. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A very nice clean park. The layout is nice, with plenty of room. Sites are clean and well layed out. Definitely a good stop over spot if travelling on I-70. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was very clean and the staff was very helpful. We have camped here before and had always had good luck. Park seems to be very busy the past few times we have stayed, but is still quiet at night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Staff at park were friendly. We made reservations months in advance with another family and requested to be side by side. We were told at check in that we would not be next to each other because of full time residence and people staying a month or longer. We were disappointed in the park because of the high ratings in Woodalls & Trailer Life. Laundry room was hot and not air conditioned and found that in general park needs a little TLC. OK for lay over. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Used this place for an overnite stop. It seemed nice enough and would make a good base-camp for seeing the area. I don't think that the park was a destination in and of itself, though. I would tell anyone to stop here on there way through. Nothing spectacular, but everything you need. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great place for an overnight stop. It was clean, Easy to find, and a place to get a good restful night of sleep. I did not have time to really explore the area but I don't think that this campground offered enough to make it a destination place. Otherwise, nothing to complain about. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A 40 year old park that was just recently bought by new owners. They're doing a good job of updating the place. No dead grass or weeds when we were there in September. Managers are friendly and helpful. We will stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground was clean. The pool was nice and had lounge chairs. There was also a nice clubhouse with two internet connections, sattelite TV and treadmill. We found the sites to be close together and smaller than a lot of similarly priced campgrounds. Overall a nice place to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park. Park is clean as you can find and people take very good care of park. If park had cable TV I would have rated it a 10. We plan to return soon. Other RV park owners need to come and see how to set up a park. Staff was helpful at check in. Great place! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very clean and peaceful park. The "Lodge" is a large room with modem connections, tv, large ref., microwave and oven, and well equiped work out room that is for all the guest to use and is very well kept. The only thing we missed was not having a cable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground. Everything is shiny and new. Lots of grass and trees. Mostly level concrete and asphalt rv pads. The only gravel in the park is in the tent area. Bathrooms and lodge are clean and very convenient. The only downside is that it's crowded and the smaller rig sites are right next to each other. The hookup side of my trailer was about two and a half feet from the hookup side of my neighbor's trailer. There is also a bit of highway noise, but it's not overbearing. We camped here in a camper.
