Very nice people. But at end of Snow Bird Season, lock up your belongings! Thieves hit hard. Fun activities "in season". Nice pool. Very close sites, but larger ones are in the works. Dog friendly, but wish they had a dog park. They have half of one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for a month on a promo rate. The park was busy with snowbirds but also contains a preponderance of permanent residents, many in run-down units. Hook-ups are old and rusty and sites are very, very close together with about eighteen inches between neighboring slide-outs. Patios are small, cracked concrete pads, very close to neighbors' curb-side. There are many low overhanging trees which constitute a hazard to trailer and motorhome rooftop equipment. The office is open Monday to Friday until 5.00pm and is closed weekends and for long periods over holidays. We would not return even at promo rates. Un-gated and with no cable or Wi-Fi facilities, this park does not justify the high normal rates charged. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is about 90% permanent trailers of early 70's vintage, and they tend to give the whole park a rather dismal, run-down appearance.Seems most of the residents live there year-around. I think the park manager does the best she can given what she has to work with. Pool area is lovely and seems to be new with nice deck furniture. The few camping spaces are the tightest we have ever seen; hook-ups are side-by-side and you can literally shake hands with your neighbour thru the window!Your concrete patio is about 4 feet from your neighbour on the curb side.Streets are paved but sites leave a lot to be desired.The entire park seems to be "tired" and in need of a facelift and made more big-rig friendly. We stayed there on a promotion of 7 nights for $125.00. For that price , we were not expecting first-rate accommodation but I would never pay the full rate. Too close quarters for long-term. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here for the past 4 years and absolutely love it! This park has great residents and is very well kept. The manager is younger than most RV park managers that we have encountered but she is a gem! She seems to have a pretty tough job but she is friendly and always has a smile on her face! The entire staff are friendly and very quick to help you with anything. When we arrived this year our power went out around 8 pm on a Friday night. We called the emergency number and the manager was at our site within minutes. It turned out to be a problem with our rig. The manager was very helpful in suggesting whom to call regarding our problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The site manager was unavailable for the first two days of our stay and when we finally saw her on our third day she was rude and unfriendly. She charged us $5 per day for our 21-month old baby (no other campground has charged us extra) and almost did not honor a coupon for a third night free after staying two nights. The hookups at our site were old and rusty and the site smelled bad- either from the stagnant water in the canal running through the park or from the sewer connections. We stayed here for three nights and will definitely not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is a mix of mobile homes and RV sites. It's relatively clean with paved streets. The RV sites are TIGHT. Utilities are on shared posts, so the backs of the RV's face each other and are literally inches apart in some instances (when both neighbors have slides). They are the tightest spots we've ever seen. We thought Leavenworth, WA was tight. Sewer hookups in our spot consisted of a side-entry, rusted out, now useless-threaded port. So, the sewer release is an adventure. We only had 30 amp but I think that 50 amp is available in some spots. We wouldn't return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent one month at this RV park. From previous posting, we decided to check the park out before moving our rig there. We found it very clean and updated. There are many full time residents living there, but their units were clean and kept in good shape. It appeared older units were removed. The park was friendly; many snowbirds from Canada but English speaking. The only problem is the park is not gated and bikes were stolen nightly by outside residents. It was suggested to us to remove our front wheels. We did have some electric problems on our space, but the park was quick to fix only after we had to take our rig to Conley for repairs. We would return to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We received a month at this resort for $199 as a prize at the Tampa RV Show. As the prior review was so poor, we took the time to drive to the park and look it over before committing to staying there. Very happy that we did. The park was filled with old run down permanent trailers. This is not an RV resort. It is an old trailer park that allows any type of "camper" to stay until the earth grows over their vehicle. The only reason I gave it a 2 is for the awesome beaches nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Appears a nice park, but contains a lot of permanent residents of low caliber which party late at night. Lost 50 amp power for 2 days and nights. Poor electrical equipment. They refused to move us to another 50 amp spot. They take no control over residents. One permanent tenant flashed a young woman, and he is still here. I would not advise this park at all. This is a seasonal park and becomes very full in winter months. Facilities were clean and park managenent was good. Some minor flooding when it rains a lot. I would return there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here twice in the last 9 months. Very nice, clean, well kept. Residents and staff are polite and friendly. I especially like the bridge and island where you can enjoy the gazebo, porch swing, picnicing areas and the dock for manatee viewing. Will definitely go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park! Great pool and hot tub. Employees and residents were very nice. Some sites would be very tight for our 40 foot rig, but we had a pull through in the DD row that gave us extra room to exit. All sites are set pretty close together. Did not visit showers or laundry. Spent 3 1/2 months here this winter. Friendly staff and residents, mostly snowbirds. Many are park models, but probably 100 sites available for RVs. No tents or pop-ups. Lots of activities available ranging horseshoes and shuffleboard to power model boats, bridge, and wood shop. A mix of Americans and Canadians. Lovely large oaks shade many sites. Some of the sites have marginal water and sewer hookups that haven't been updated in many years. Great location on the Bradenton River. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I was only here for one night. The staff was friendly. The RV section is located in a separate area from the park models, and there were few people there. The facilities were clean, and there seemed to be lots to do. Most of the residents that I saw were retirees. The one thing I did notice was that the rates jump a tremendous amount in January. Staff was relatively friendly. Residents were VERY friendly and welcomed our visit. Encouraged us to participate in their activities. Great location for shopping, restaurants and the beach. Neg: Much discussion about Canadians making demands above and beyond. We met 2 Canadian couples who were very pleasant and friendly w/o any issues. Would return in a heartbeat. Our rate was based on Carefree Military discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very narrow roads and trees in the more snowbird/park model(north) part of the campground. If you're over 32 ft, make sure they put you in the newer (south) part. Unless you stay over 30 days no cable TV. WIFI only in the clubhouse but Verizon aircard OK. Do not stay in the north section unless you speak French. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Was here in off season (July). Was well maintained and clean. Essentially this is a trailer park which has a section for RV's. No campground store, not much going on. Easy to get into and out of. Plenty of space for our 42" class A. Not a place for families. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were disappointed when we arrived, because it is almost all park models, with a few RV sites scattered about. We did discover an all RV section, which would have been nicer. However, after looking around at everything in the area, this is the nicest (with the exception of one amazing park near Anna Maria Island). The park models are all in excellent condition and well maintained and attractive. The sites were not paved, but the parking for your car and your patio were paved. None of the other parks in the area have that. Once you get over how close together they all are, and how narrow most of the roads are, you begin to enjoy it. Clubhouse is very nice, as is the pool. The river setting is pleasant, and the island with walking trails gives a little plus to it, also. Also, it's near Wal-Mart, Lowe's, restaurants, and I-75. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fairly nice park but the bugs seemed too excessive, especially the sand fleas. Thought the rate was excessive for what is offered. Some of the staff seemed a bit grumpy at times. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here before and had a good site. We made reservations and prepaid for 5 weeks this year. When we got there they did not have our site as they had given it to someone else. They gave us one by the road with a lot of construction and traffic going to the school across the road. Constant cars racing by, loud radios, and noise got old fast. We were very disappointed the way they treated us. Never again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The problems with this park are many as follows: 1. The park is over 90% seasonal. 2. The RV Section is only 30 Pull Thru's. 3. The lots are humped ie the front and rear of your RV will be above the lot requiring a lot of blocking. 4. The noise is absolutely awful along with the dust as a new high school has just been built across the road and a another new large facility is under construction. The road (Caruso) is to become a four lane highway. There will be children, school buses going all day with all the activities along with the accompaning noise. 5. The Internet access is noisy and useless. 6. The monthly rate of $800 is way too much for this park. Rumor is that the rate is going up another $76 next year. 7. The pull thrus are too short and the truck has to be left sideways or put on the road. 8. Pool is full of kids now (March break) even though this is a 55+ park. Would never come here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We are in our mid-30's with our first camper. We found this park is very misleading if you go by what Woodalls or their website has to say. We went over Thanksgiving break and were disappointed for 3 full days. No where on the website did it indicate that this was a 55+ park, but we felt it as soon as we got there. First off 80% of the lots are permanent Park Models, another 10% are small "back-in" lots between the park models (neighbors like to peek out their blinds - very uncomfortable) and last 10% are pull throughs next to the main road and garbage area (very noisy). Amenities like the island are VERY over rated, unless the extent of your "fitness" walk consists of less than 1/4 mile (could be a half mile if you walk around the island twice, but it wasn't interesting enough to do twice). Jacuzzi was probably the best of the amenities. Overall we found it to be too far from anything fun to do (beach is over 10 miles away) and the permanent residents made us feel like we were intruding. The website is great, but it does not nearly tell the tale! We won't be back until we are "of age", and I am not sure it will be top on our list even then! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park only has 40 RV sites to rent out. Most of the park is for people who own homes inside park. Park O.K. for people over 55 years of age. In the summer park has very small number of people and I think kids may be O.K. This is not the case in winter months. This site has a lot of people who live here in winter months. Very nice park to look at and it has an island. Guard aways at the gate day or night. We only go here in the summer months. We camped here in a camper.

No full-hookup available and the sites are very tight. We hit several trees maneuvering to, into and out of our site. They really need to clean up the trees if they are going to allow 40' RV's to make reservations. Otherwise, great private feeling sites with fire ring & picnic table. They sell firewood at a reasonable price at the ranger station. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Generally the 60 EW sites are large and secluded. All have fire pits. Beware of the squirrels. They chewed holes in my 2 new freshwater hoses. The rangers are aware of the problem, but apparently do not wish to resolve it. Placing a bowl of water next to the hose, as the rangers suggest, does not satisfy the squirrels thirst for water. There is no internet, cable, or laundry. While the park extends along three miles of Lake Manatee, swimming is not advised because of alligators. There is a boat launch and fishing dock, canoe and kayak rentals are available. The walking trails are rather boring. There is only one ranger led activity; a weekly evening owl walk. Unfortunately there there is a noisy racetrack a few miles up the road, so you may wish to inquire about race dates. Two miles down the road is the O’Brien Family farm where you can purchase fresh produce. As well the farm has a strawberry u-pick. No bending necessary as the berries are hydroponically grown. Despite some of the drawbacks, we thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay, especially nightly campfires and walks around the campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a great camping here. There are nice short trails. It was not crowded. It is refreshing swimming in the lake. It is very peaceful. The playground for the kids was great. The showers were very clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice and well laid out state park on Lake Manatee. Lake is 2,400 acres in size and around 12 feet deep, you can swim or fish here if you wish. You will find no Manatees in this lake due to a dam on west end. Park has two large rings with RV sites around the rings. A bathhouse sets in center of each ring. Sites are super size, hard packed gravel, level, wide, deep, clean, with good 30 amp power, water, fire ring, and a table. You feel like you are parked in the woods and have lots of trees and ground cover around the site. Hard to see other sites close by as you are over a 100 feet away from others. Playground equipment for the kids near lakeside. Staff was very helpful at check in. You have good roads and walkways in park. Bathhouses were all clean. Verizon cell and 3G card had five bars and was super fast here. You will hear a little road noise from Hwy 64 to the south of park, not bad. Park has dog clean up bags all over the park and I did not see any dog land mines on the ground to step on. Park has recycling cans for everything, use them. Dump station was super size, no problems to get in and out. Gates are locked at night and you have a code to get in. Rate was for FL Senior. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Two shaded loops each have a central bath house. They are unheated which makes for some nippy showers on cold winter days, but plenty of hot water and always clean. Plenty of shade but room enough in almost spaces for our 33' fifth wheel and truck. The trees impact satellite reception in many sites, so we had to put our cube on top of the RV. We had good cell phone reception. The park is about 10 miles from most shopping, and it's a bit of a drive to the coast through a lot of city. Very quiet even though full every weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Al thought the sites were sandy they were level and packed well for our 40' MH. Large sites with privacy from your neighbors. The restrooms were large, easily accessed and VERY clean thanks to the great hosts. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed on site 45. It was a level, roomy site with privacy. Has nice, clean restrooms. Was an easy hike to lake. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped in site #46. Our site had standing water on it when we arrived in a rainstorm. Most sites around us did also but by the next morning the water had dried up. Most RV's could fit on any site in campground. All were deep and most were wide enough as well. Each had a fire ring/grill combo, picnic table, w/e, and poles to put laundry up to dry on. Park has hiking paths, boat ramp, a lakefront that swimming is allowed in, 20 hp limit for boats, and a playground in the day use area. Restrooms were clean when we checked at the beginning our our stay. Park host has a coffee get together on Saturday mornings for the campers. TV stations were numerous w/o a sat dish. Park has a small store in ranger station as well as sells firewood there. Most of the campers this time of year are snowbirds. We only saw one other camper from FL in the campground. So if you want to camp in winter book early since sites go fast. Everyday conveniences not too far away. We visited Gamble Plantation and De Soto National Monument which were withing 20 miles of Lake Manatee. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Loved this park. Very scenic with paved roads and brush is cleared away from road. Sites are sand, but very large with Florida palms and greenery barrier between each site for privacy. Restrooms/showers very nice - looked new. We had plenty of space on all sides. No trouble using my Verizon phone and connecting to internet with Verizon air card. Only stayed one night on way to FL, but already reserved for two night stay on our way back home the end of March. This is truly a FL state park that can accommodate large trailers/motorhomes. Not far from Bradenton and I-75. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful park with spacious, private sites. We had a nice shady site with the only caveat being we had to take care backing in because of overhead branches. Our site was sandy and level. The staff at the office were helpful and had lots of information on things to do in the area including the best laundromats and where to shop. Although the park was full the bath houses, located in the center of each loop, were never busy and were clean. We had cellular service there even though we were nine miles off the interstate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful campground. Every site is very private. The people in the office were very nice. I will definitely stay here again. No WiFi but an broadband EVDO signal on my Rev A. Verizon phone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent state park campground, huge sites, easily big enough for any size rig, set far apart, lots of privacy, modern, well kept, clean restrooms and showers. Easy access for satellite signal at almost every site. Hosts were excellent, had potluck lunches, community game days, coffee clutches. A nice pavilion is available for group picnics. Easy access to the lake for boats with a large parking lot for tow vehicles and trailers. Also has a beach for swimming, but not very nice, and anyhow, wonder about aligators??? Close to Lakewood Ranch which has every kind of store, cinemas, and a few restaurants. Already made reservation for next winter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is very friendly and has been making some positive changes for 2010. Some sites on the south side have freeway noise, we did not feel it was that bad, but others have asked to be put into another site where it is quieter. When room is available, management will honor the request. We would have rated this park a 10, except for this reason. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For a Florida State Park, this one was very bad. There was hardly anyone staying in the camp ground, and that was with one loop closed for repairs. Now I know why. There is nothing to do there. At the playground area they offered horse shoe game, but the grass was so high around the stakes you could not see them. They say they have swimming there (one of my main reasons for going there), but they do not. There is a fresh water lake there, but there is no access to it. When we were there the swimming area was closed due to high bacteria in the water. There were a lot of bugs and flys at the camp site, we were not happy there and will never go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground. Very convenient weekend getaway. Very tidy. I only wish they had sewer and 50 amp service. Otherwise this is a great place to spend any amount of time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park. Easy access, wide long sites that many work well with big rigs. All of our satellite systems worked at our site. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is on Lake Manatee which is a dammed of river, popular with fishermen. There is a 20 HP limit on boat motors. Swimming beach is OK but alligator warnings are posted. Interior roads are paved; spacious 80 ft. (not paved) campsites each have a picnic table,fire ring and clothes line. Live oaks, pines, and saw palmetto cover the grounds. The picnic area has a large playground and there is a boat launch and fishing pier nearby. There is no laundry. Hiking trails are wide and easy to follow. Wildlife include armadillos, rabbits, deer, alligators and feral hogs. We did not see alligators or feral hogs. Campground hosts do much of the maintenance and they are friendly and helpful. There is a locked entry gate after 6:00 pm. The campground is quiet, evenings and early morning. It is 9 miles East of I-75 and about 10 miles East of shopping, gas, and similar services. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you want to camp here in the winter, you'd better make reservations! It's a bit far from everything, but this is a very beautiful place to camp. The park, on State Road 64 about 8 miles east of Interstate 75, offers camping, picnicking, boating, a fishing dock, nature trails, horse trails, canoeing and kayaking. There is a swimming beach, but DO NOT swim there. We saw many alligators in the lake, especially at sundown! SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK! Campsites are clean, spacious, and easy to get in and out of. Camp hosts are nice and helpful. As stated in previous review, nice hiking! The fishing here is also great if you have a small boat. If you want to hit the beach, it takes about an hour in traffic to get to Coquina Beach and Bradenton Beach west on Hwy. 64. Tampa is about 45 minutes away north on I-75. There is only one bad thing about this park. Desoto Speedway across the highway. It is very loud when there are races! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Looking at the website is VERY deceiving. The photo is of the back facing the water which is the only nice area. We thought we were staying at a nice resort. WRONG. We pulled into the grounds, and my first thought was: UGH. There were huge pot holes everywhere. No stone drives, just dirt. OK, maybe a few stones here and there. I wondered whether this was an RV park or a trailer graveyard. Old permanent house trailers and what used to be campers are scattered throughout the grounds with old cars and out building that have seen better days. The management had us park in back corner next to a permanent trailer that had junk scattered all around. Our stay was for 2 days. It is a good thing we were only here to sleep. One positive thing: they did have a few 'cabins' that looked fairly nice. The 'cabins' are actually single wide house trailers made up to look like cabins. We never tried the restaurant. I wanted to do some laundry but by the looks of the washers and dryers, I didn't. The only good thing going for it is that it's cheap. I don't recommend and won't stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a unique park. This is definitely "old Florida". The sites are fairly close together, but they had patios and a good third of them are right on the river. There is a boat launch right there as well. The bathrooms are shared with the restaurant, so they are quite busy in the evening. The bathrooms are basic, but clean. The showers are big with plenty of hot water. Speaking of the restaurant, Al Roker named it one of the "top 5 weirdest restaurants in America" and it lives up to it. Lots of stuffed "critters" adorn the walls and ceilings and the atmosphere is definitely rustic, but the food is excellent and the place is very popular with locals. If you want fancy, this is not your place. But if you want a memorable stay with a friendly staff, it's well worth the $16 Escapees rate or the $32 regular rate. They stay pretty full, so a reservation might be a good idea during the busy season. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you are looking for a park with no frills but still has full hook-ups this will work for a few nights. The management is extremely friendly and helpful and though it is a little tight with a lot of live in residents, we found everything clean and quiet. There is a restaurant on the premises that seemed quite busy, though we did not eat there. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers available. Our rate was with the Escapees discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spotless park, nicely landscaped with great folks at the desk and living there. Nice walk around the lake and if you're a birder, many different kinds. About half permanent residents with nice park models and a lot of 'snowbirds' and all are very friendly. Always have something to do. Great laundry, spotless restrooms and the cleanest pool we've seen. Well organized sites with cable and great Wi-Fi. Call ahead during the season as it fills up quickly. We'll be back!!!! Large park with grass/gravel sites for short-term users. Mostly permanent RVs and mobile homes, although the park is very well kept. We were here for four nights while visiting family in the Bradenton and Sarasota areas. The people we met while walking the roughly 1 mile loop around the lake were from all over and were very friendly! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very clean, well maintained park. Also very lucky to get reservations for last minute reunion as about 1/2 snowbirds. Very friendly staff, extra clean bathrooms and pool is one of the cleanest we've seen. Will definitely stay here anytime we're even close. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were so lucky to stay here during "season" in Florida. I had tried to make reservations but they were booked. So we ended up at another resort down the street and were so upset at the condition of the resort and the sites that we did not want to stay. We called Val at Pleasant Lake and they had an opening. We were greeted at the secured gate by Ken who escorted us to a nice site, took our information and got us settled in. The resort is clean with a very friendly atmosphere. There were many "snowbirds" who stayed in very nice single and double wide trailers for maybe up to 6 months. And then many sites with both Class A motorhomes and trailers on well maintained sites. Although we were only there for two nights, we were welcomed and did not feel out of place. Our dogs enjoyed the dog walk and the wide paved streets for walking around the man made lake. We like the proximity to I-75 yet Pleasant Lake is quiet and private. We would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This exceptionally well-kept park arranges its 120 sites in rows of 2, 3 or 4 around the perimeter of a 25-acre lake, which can make for a very long walk from your site to laundry, pool or clubhouse. No weekly rate; just daily times 7. The park has it all, a pool heated to 86 degrees, two great laundries (one with a clothesline option) and excellent bath houses. Cable was great, with if anything, too many channel choices. What we didn’t get was a level site: even with our ramps the coach was quite nose low, preventing a proper dump out, causing a 5 degree rise in refer temp and requiring us to hold the doors open. Couldn’t find a dump station, so if you’re not level at the site, you’re out of luck. WI-FI was good except on a rainy day: either the weather gives it problems or everyone was indoors using it. Among the nicest, friendliest staff and guests we’ve ever encountered. Terrific location to explore the museums of Bradenton and Sarasota. Highly recommended to all. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Such a nice park; if your permanent or semi-permanent. Lots of park models with permanent residents; nice lake in the middle of the park; plenty of activities for seniors. Our spot appeared to be an after-thought and I felt like we were parked in someone's front yard. Everyone was very friendly and nice though. I believe this is more for snowbirds visiting Florida for several months or permanent residents. Good location! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a park that has both snowbird permanent-type units as well as mobile-type rigs. The staff was very cordial. The sites are laid out around a man-made lake. It has planned activities during the winter months. It's right off I-75 and is easy to reach. We would go back there in a New York second! BUT, this is a seasonal retirement park, meaning it's impossible to get a short stay between January and April. So, unless you are going to stay for thirty days during the Snowbird season, don't bother. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park brochure now calls itself the "Manatee Encore RV Resort, a Premier RV Resort in Bradenton, FL". "Premier" is a bit of a stretch. Upon arrival we were escorted on a golf cart through the park and allowed to choose our site. Many of the available sites had issues with pads which were cracked, heaved, not level and in our case a little short for door placement over the patio. We finally chose a site on the north end of the park with a bayou behind us. The access road was wide enough to accommodate an easy back-in and the sites had decent width so you weren't on top of your neighbor. After plugging in, our power management system faulted on the 50 amp circuit. The 30 amp connection worked just fine. Park personnel responded quickly, diagnosed a problem with the 50 amp breaker and repaired it promptly. We had to treat a number of fire ant hills around the site. Noise from I-95 was not noticeable inside the RV but there was a din when outside. There was also a very inconsiderate person in the park who on several occasions did not have the common courtesy for their neighbors to pick up after their dog. After we inadvertently tracked a load into the RV we had to constantly check our shoes. The real disadvantage to our site location was the no-see-ums which showed up late every afternoon through sunset and drove us inside the RV. The people we met in the park were very open and engaging. The park had a full calendar of events and we participated in a number of activities. The main rec building was newer construction, nicely landscaped and located alongside the lake. We used the pool and hot tub regularly and their library was a great place to access the free Wi-Fi. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the people although we would try another park the next time we come back to Bradenton. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a mixed use park, primarily manufactured homes with RV sites sprinkled among them. First, the good. The residents of the park are very friendly. Lots of activities in season with one or more activity directors. The park surrounds a small lake, and the walk around the park is about 1.1 miles, making for a pleasant walk or bike ride. Park is close to a Walmart, Cracker Barrel, and just a few miles from Anna Maria Island. The bad: Sites are small and unlevel, even the "elite" sites on the lake. No-see-ums are so thick that you cannot sit out and enjoy your site. Standard sites are very close to I-75, mostly dark and gloomy, and the highway noise is aggravating if not worse. Both laundries had broken machines (even the small secondary laundry was down to one washer) which were not repaired in the 2 weeks we were there. A horde of screaming children took over the smaller pool (I counted 14 -- mind you, this is a very small pool) on both days I attempted to enjoy it, with virtually no parental supervision, and no lifeguard. Evidently there are a number of young families living year round at the park. There are several other parks to choose from in the area; we will look elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very narrow concrete pads. Many of the patio slabs for short term stays are broken with no evidence of repairs being made. No cable. No Wi-Fi except in the clubhouse. Road noise from I-75. We used the laundry room and one of the dryers made so much noise, we asked the maintenance person if it was OK to use. He said he's told management about the problem but nothing has been done about it. We will look for another park next time we return to the Sarasota area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came in for a weekly special. Grassy/gravel, mostly level sites, nice pool, nice laundry. Great bike riding outside the park in a nearby residential neighborhood. Two pools...very nice. Not many shaded sites, the ones that are are backed up near the highway and have a lot more noise. No problems with MiFi or cell phones (AT&T). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with good level sites. Daily trash pick up. Lovely lake half mile long by quarter mile wide. We stayed a month and met loads of friendly people. Pool heated to 86 degrees. Lots of activity. Close to good shopping and eats. The staff was helpful above and beyond the call! Only complaint was the "noseeum" bugs in sites at far end of lake. We would reccomend this park to everyone! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here two weeks and the nightly rate is based on their weekly rate. It is a very nice park with lots to do in the area. There are activities at the park as well. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is no cable available unless you stay over a month and like Wi-Fi you pay for it - my only disappointment about the park !!! One of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed at. The only downside was that the free campground Wi-Fi was non-existent and cable is not available at the short-term sites. Our site was on the far side away from I-75 and extremely quiet. When looking for signs, you will NOT find "Winter Quarters"; rather look for "Encore". Also, our GPS took us into a strip mall. When exiting I-75, turn west and take a right at the third light. Travel 0.9 miles back over I-75 and the campground will be on your immediate left. We will be staying here again on our way north in March. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is close to Route 75, so you hear the noise all the time. We had a back in and it was OK. We have stayed here before. Do not get in the back row, as the bugs are there. Better by the lake. Friendly place with lots to do and close to everything. We would stay here again. We paid a weekly rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

REALLY friendly and helpful staff. Gave me a spot right across from the clubhouse, pool, hot tub and lake. So many things going on all the time, planned by staff and volunteers, that you can't possibly do them all. Good restaurants nearby. Nice, clean laundry very reasonably priced. Wal-Mart is one mile down the road. Good access to Sarasota, airport, St. Petersburg, Anna Maria Island and I-75. Would DEFINITELY stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is now an Encore Park. Close to I-75 so noise level is high throughout the park. Sites are unpaved, broken asphalt (?) and unattractive. However, clubhouse is very nice, and park amenities are lovely. Our rate was based on a $99/week special. Good location for sightseeing/shopping; however, we would not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

No one has reviewed this camp ground since we stayed there in April. This will however not prevent us from repeating a rating of 9. We like this place and every thing was as good as we remembered. Worth a visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Basically this is a very nice park where they have managed the difficult art of mixing park models with RV's. Friendly staff, big heated pool and hot tub, good laundry and in general a nice atmosphere. We can appreciate that if you get a site close to the busy I-75 you will have 24/7 road noise which could drive you mad in a very short time. We got a site right on the lake and away from the road so we didn't experience the noise as a problem although it will always be audible. Choose your site wisely when arriving or booking. We would come back and will recommend the park to others. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful RV Park, with most sites situated on a lovely lake, which we backed onto. But, the drawback, which made us say we probably would not come back is, everywhere throughout the park, you cannot get away from the noise of I-75, which is right next to the park. The noise is deafening and constant, 24/7, morning and night, so if you are one of those people that do not "enjoy" this type of setting, you would not want to stay here. We wanted to stay longer, but couldn't take the noise any longer. It's unfortunate, and it's not the parks fault, as we understand that I-75 came after the park was already here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites and facilities clean and well maintained. Sites level, with full hookups, and cement pads beside RVs. Office staff friendly and helpful. Paved roads allowed for good walking around the lake. Pet friendly. We were there as Coast to Coast members, and would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for a week on a Camping World special deal (Lucky Seven). The staff here was exceptional, helpful, friendly and a real park asset. The park is about 1/4 park models and 3/4 snowbirds. The large club house is always busy (good library inside) and the two pools are always available. The larger pool w/ associated hot tub has a great view of the lake. Wal-Mart is 3 minutes from the park along with various dining opportunities. There are lots of planned events. Again, they should offer a free Wi-Fi site or sites throughout the park as part of the park fee. I-75 is close and some sites get a real earful but park can't fix this. It's well maintained park and sites were roomy. We'd return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is far from inferior. The site had some noise from I-75,however it was not a nuisance. The park employes were very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A great campground, all sites very roomy and over 90% will have enough room for large motor homes & fifth wheels/trailers. Only problem we had was with Tengo internet service, paid for a month, only worked 10% or less of the time. Tengo would not respond to ours or our Canadian friends e-mails. This was only issue we had while staying here, otherwise great facilities and manager. Road noise from freeway was not that bad where we were, if you are not happy, they are very gracious and will assign you another if available. We stayed at a large discount because of our Thousand Trails membership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

With spaces located around a lake, this is simply a beautiful park. There are nice trees and plantings. The only drawback is also a convenience: It is located right next to I-75, and the noise of the traffic could be an annoyance to those who want absolute quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is about 50% manufactured houses and 50% RV's. We were there for a week in April and most of the snowbirds that spend the winter had already taken flight. As a result, they did not have the organized activities that they have in the high season. Be sure and request a site that is away from the highway or you may be located right alongside of I-75. They do have Wi-Fi available but the provider is Tengonet and the cost is $15 for a week. There is a Super Wal-Mart only a half mile away. They are adjacent to a residential development and there are some nice places to walk. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were put in what they called a premier spot. Spot was between two permanent residents whose sites were a mess. Backed up to trees, but one of the neighbors had his junk piled there. Concrete pad was broken into large junks. When checking in person behind desk could not find my reservation, because person taking the reservation on the phone didn't have the name spelled correctly. She curtly asked for my confirmation number, which I didn't have readily available. I thought she was indicating I didn't have a confirmation number and was trying to get by with something. Manager later stopped by our site and said that she had heard the camp worker's dialog with me and spoken to her about her rudeness. I did appreciate her telling me. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I generally agree with the previous comments - good park for the money. We camped in prime season at discounted rate with a coupon. The park is very near the expressway which generates lots of road noise for many of the less expensive sites. Even in high season there are many vacancies. The staff has been helpful and friendly. They have a wide variety of sites with most big enough for large rigs. Table and cement patio is part of most sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Many permanent residents but plenty of spaces for travelers. Restrooms and grounds and pool area were well maintained. Tengo internet connections fluctuated greatly depending on time of day. Beach is about 9 miles west with access to fishing areas. Lots of things to do in area.$3.00 per night resort fee in all Encore parks now charged is ridiculous. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This has been an Encore park for about 8 years and is also know as Encore Sarasota North. They have periodic specials for long term stays so search the web, check with their booth at RV shows, Good Sam Highways or Trailer Life Magazine and ask when making reservations. During their high season January-March it runs around $70.00 a night. There are a lot of park models, long term visitors and it is close to the freeway so you can’t escape the noise. It is typical Florida high humidity and bugs, but with family in the area it is convenient for our annual visits. It is located a mile away from a Super Wal-Mart so it is good exercise for shopping. It is at exit 220 and there is an outlet mall at exit 224. During the holidays there are more children but in general much fewer than near by Sun N Fun on exit 210 in Sarasota. Staff is very friendly and eager to insure you enjoy your stay. There are lots of activities i.e. exercise classes, craft classes, informational seminars, day trips, weekly dinners and morning coffees to name a few. Cable TV is for long term visitors only, WIFI is sporadic. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

When I made reservations I was lead to believe that there was cable TV included with the site. Got here and found out that the only way to get cable is on a long-term basis. Pulled into our assigned site (pull through) noticed that there was standing water everywhere, dropped the jacks and the rear one sunk through the asphalt! Better than 75% of sites are permanent trailers. Park is so close to the interstate that you hear traffic noise non stop. We won't be coming here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are full timers and we spend a lot of time here due to my husband's company is out of Sarasota. We have made several friends. The staff is great. They always seem to booked in during season but they will try to work with you if you need a spot. Great park!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff was friendly, however, when we checked in we were not asked did we want cable, did we want a water site etc. The site we were in was supposed to be a premium site. It was very unlevel, found electrical connections burnt, unable to use 30amp plug, picnic table was burnt on the top, patio was cracked, ant hills all over. Not enough room to park tow vehicle. Speed was not controlled in the park. Was not happy at all and would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
