We have stayed in the Fort Myers area at different campgrounds but have enjoyed Cypress Woods more than any of them. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to buy a lot there. I realize there has been some complaints about the developer having control of things, but to me this is normal in a situation like this until a high percentage of the total lots are sold. As far as the developer controlling the board, remember it is the owners and the developer that vote the board members in. Also, the board members are volunteers. If there are complaints about board members then new people can step up to the plate, come the next annual vote, and try to get voted in. We have loved Cypress Woods and do appreciate how well it is looked after and appreciate the volunteers that help make this a wonderful place to stay. It is so peaceful and the different type of birds we see on the lake every day have been so enjoyable. They have wonderful dinners there and many other activities for you to take part in if you so choose. The lots are bigger than many resorts we have stayed at. Their wifi is a bit outdated, but we have been able to connect everyday with our external hawking high-gain adapter. We are very excited about owning a lot at Cypress Woods. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an RV condo-resort that is a good place to rent a site but a poor place to buy. Sites are large, 50 feet by 90 feet, and have large concrete pads and full hookups including phone and cable TV. We like the sites in the new D section the best, especially those on the lake. These sites are larger and have nicer views than the three older sections (A,B,C). In spite of what several previous reviewers have said, we found the park to be well located for shopping, spring training baseball, and the Florida Rep theater in downtown Fort Myers. The park is farther from Fort Myers Beach than other parks in the area, so if the beach is your primary interest I would go elsewhere. Ther best part of Cypress Woods are the people who own and rent there. We quickly made friends over the month we were there, and were treated as equals by lot owners and seasonal renters. The activities we went to, a Valentines dinner dance, steak fry, yoga classes, and so on were well run and lots of fun. The biggest downside of Cypress Woods is the developer and his office staff, and this is why I would recommend AGAINST buying here. We met many disgruntled lot owners who described some of the shenagians the developer has pulled. Two examples will suffice. (1) The park sprinkler system does not work, and yet the developer sent in a water tanker truck to take three 10,000 gallons loads of water to another property he owns. The water is paid for by lot owners. (2) The "homeowners association" board of directors are either employees of the developer, or hand picked by the developer to vote his way. As a result lot owners have no say in how the park is run, how money will be spent, or even what their monthly condo fee will be. There are countless other developer issues, which has caused a group of lot owners to hire a lawyer to fight the developer! As a renter you may not escape from the developer's clutches scot free: you may have to work with an individual we came to call Michelle the Minx, who is very unhelpful and obnoxious to renters, an opinion voiced by many other renters we met. Why the developer employs her I have no idea! You can rent directly from lot owners, which is far preferable. See notices posted in the laundry room or ask around if you visit the park. Overall, Cypress Woods is a very nice place to spend the winter with congenial people, spoiled only by a shyster developer and his employees. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We booked two months at this Resort nine months ago, and we have not been disappointed. Other than the distance to the beach and shopping, and traffic, it is fantastic. Definitely geared toward seniors (and dog-owners). Everything is immaculate, the concrete pads are huge, and as of today the WiFi is working in our area. There are tons of planned activities, a fantastic club house, two pools and two hot tubs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are staying here right now for 3 months. A beautiful RV Resort. I have yet to see a dog "Do It Thing" and it's owner not clean up after it. Wifi does have limited range, they have improved it since we have been here and are still working on it. I have only seen 1 Motorhome with a trailer left on a site since we have been here. Nightly prices are high but the monthly prices are within reason. We like it here so much we have already rented for Jan., Feb., & March 2007. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice RV Resort. However, it could be better by following their own rules. Security was non existent and we found that dog owners were out of control. People routinely brought their dogs out of their RV and rushed them to some non-suspecting neighbours site so they could 'do their thing'. On more than one occasion we found dog owners with no intention of cleaning up after their pet. WiFi is simply not acceptable. Utility trailers are routinely left on camp sites despite rules to the contrary. I simply found that no one seemed to care or mind these issues. I would not recommend this resort. Cypress Woods is a beautiful condo RV park where most of the campsites are owned. However, many are available for rent by the day, week, or month. This is a true RV resort with all the trimmings. Sites are large, 46' wide by 90' long with concrete pads and large patios. Many are on one of the two beautiful lakes with fountains, lighted at night. Some sites have extensive landscaping, done by the owners, and others have grass and a few palm trees. There are two pools. The newest one is the largest I've ever seen in an RV park. The "clubhouse" is also very large with a gathering room that will seat 300 people. There are two lighted tennis courts, about 5 lighted shuffleboard courts, horse shoe pits and a grilling area for cookouts. The resort is a half mile off I-75, a real asset given the heavy traffic in the Fort Myers area. For spring training baseball in March the resort is 20 minutes from City of Palms Park (Red Sox) and 30 minutes from Hammond Stadium (Twins). It took us 30 minutes to reach Fort Myers Beach on Sunday morning, 40-45 minutes during the week, arriving at the beach by 8:30 a.m. to avoid long lines of traffic and parking hassles. I don't agree with those who complain about the price at this park. I think its a good value for the 55+ crowd who want peace, quiet, friendly neighbors and pleasant surroundings. I can't recommend this park too highly! We stayed at Cypress Woods for 1 month and will return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We just spent 8 days here. I didn't find it to be a family CG because there is no play ground or any activities for kids. Pool, shuffle board, and tennis are offered. The reason I rated it so low is because of the price and what you get for it. It is along ways to any restaurants or attractions. The grounds are very well maintianed. I will not stay here again. If you are looking for a country club atmospere and are willing to pay for it, you might like it here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay here, but the rates were high. The place is clean and has a secure atmosphere. People buy sites in the park and the resort rents them out when not in use by the owner. There is a nice lake and more sites are under construction now. We would like to stay here again someday if the prices don't get higher. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is an excellent park. The only part I did not like was the price, it is a little high. Park has a small lake that RV's back up to. Pool was large and everthing was very clean. Number of people own sites and live here year around. Lot of very nice motorhome park here. We camped here in a camper.

This park is advertised as a KOA, but lacks everything you come to expect from a KOA campground. The manager and employees were extremely rude. We had reservations for several days and ended up leaving the same day we arrived. We were put in a site that could not accommodate our RV and they tried to blame us for it even though we made our reservations over the phone! In the short amount of time we were there, several of their permanent tenants told us the park has gone down hill since the new manager was assigned to the park. Also, this campground advertises their property is on the water...the ocean is no where near them. Pass this place by. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good value for a Thousand Trails Member. We paid $120 for 7 nights. Beware, this is a very tight park to both enter and move around in. There are narrow 1 lane roads and narrow sites. The soil is sandy so "bogging" down into the site is an issue. 1 Motorhome was stuck all the way down the day we moved. The staff was helpful. The office is closed on Sunday which makes it hard to move into the correct site. We parked on a what turned out to be a leased site because no direction was given as to our correct site. We were told by Encore reservation to "pick any site". So we had to move on Monday. Lots of permanent sites and more are being added. No activities for children except pool. This is really an adult park. Every one we met was friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The other reviews are correct, it is a tight park to get in and out of. Our 40' would have been OK if they hadn't put us in a terribly difficult spot. It was inches from a park model and it was nearly impossible to get into. I know better, and I should have changed sites, but for some reason I parked in the difficult spot. We spent a week there and getting out was even more difficult. One of the staff members was a "parking expert" and with his help we got out. I don't recommend this park for anyone over 34'. The people are very nice and the pool is very nice, but it's mostly permanent residents and not made for easy entry/exit. They do have some grassy spots with electric hookups in the front of the park for overnight stops. We camped here in a Motorhome.

With the exception of having many, many permanent residents and grounds that aren't adequately maintained, this park is actually quite nice. The proliferation of residents, though, gives it more the feel of a trailer park with RV sites than an "RV Resort". When added to the fact that many of the permanent residences are in a state of disrepair (complete with littered sites, overgrown weeds, etc.), this park isn't the best, but certainly isn't the worst we've stayed in. On the positive side, the staff is very nice and helpful, the showers and laundry facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the pool was very nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park has been here many years, so I am surprised it has not been reviewed. A few years ago it was bought by Wilder Corp.(they own resorts throughout Florida and Texas). I had a problem with this resort, and for that I rated them lower than I otherwise would have. I drive a big rig(45'), so do not like surprises, and always call ahead. In this case it was a month ahead of time. When I arrived I was assigned a site, but it did not have 50 amp. I require 50 amp, and in April in Florida would be needing the a/c which uses that amperage. When I contacted the front office I was told that there were no 50 amp sites available (my reservation was for two weeks), and that I was told when I made the reservation that 50 amp service may not be available. Since I would never had made the reservation under those circumstances, I protested, found another place to stay, and asked for a refund. If you go to their website you will see they have a very stringent refund policy. Well, they knew they were wrong, and two months later I got my refund. The park itself is fine. The entrance is cramped, but the roads and sites are fine. The pull-throughs have nothing but grass (i.e. no concrete, no gravel, no buffers). It is a well located park in South Fort Myers near WalMart. I would not return there, but others might find it to their liking. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is very clean, people are very friendly and very accessible to Sanibel/Captiva, beaches and businesses. We never did see management as it was Thanksgiving. Our site was so tight on a narrow road, other RV owners had to move cars and guide us in because of trees and roots even though we pulled in forward. Checked out Siesta Bay and Indian Creek while here, because of the ease of getting into their sites, would choose them next time. In fairness to Groves, some of the other sites are not as tight. If we had a smaller B or C motorhome, it would have been much more accessible. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is billed as pull thru sites but you cannot make the turn into the site without stopping and starting a couple of times. Sites are very close together. Sewer connection was hidden in the grass and a flower pot was used as the cover. Getting out of the site was more of a challenge. Could not pull forward, had to back out, making the same number of turns. I probably would not camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice and friendly campground. There is not a lot to do but it is peaceful and the folks in the park are very nice. We would stay there again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very established. Very friendly. Close to shopping. Accessing Hwy 41 and U turns can be tricky. Would put this park on a "will return to" list. Nice laundry facilities and strong Wi-Fi setup. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We we escorted to our site and before even being able to park a neighbor started telling us we couldn't be in that spot, but park employee assured us it was okay. Got parked and set up and it was awful. Cramped in like sardines, no shade to be had, nowhere decent to park our car or dolly trailer. After sitting there less than an hour we decided to pack up and leave. Even though we were paid for the night we decided it wasn't a comfortable place to be. Looked old and run down, unkempt and just generally unpleasant. We will never come back here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A quiet park far enough off a busy road. Very friendly staff and park residents. Many improvements are being made. New sites are being added. Free wireless is a plus. We enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here using the Passport America rate of $22.00. The staff was very helpful. They helped my husband back into our space (even though he was perfectly capable of doing it himself); they were very kind and friendly. We didn't use any of the facilities, because we only stayed here overnight. However, I can tell you that we were comfortable, felt safe, and it was peaceful. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very clean and nice park. Very friendly staff. They have activities during the season. We were there the beginning of Nov. and not a whole lot was going on, but a very nice park indeed. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Had a terrific stay here. Far enough off the highway so you don't get any vehicle noise. Although there was a bit of confusion with my site, they situated us much closer to the pool and all amenities. Camping sites seemed a little tighter than normal. The pool is a good size and could be bigger given the activity, but very warm and very clean. Staff check it regularly to make sure it is up to standard. Washrooms are very clean and lots of laundry facilities. Staff are exceptionally helpful and plan lots of activities for their camping guests. We stayed there 5 days, weather was great and would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Shady Acres has some permanent mobile homes, many seasonal units as well as travelers such as ourselves. We enjoyed our 6 nites here and consider it a great value for Jan. in Ft. Myers. It's a very quiet location set back from the road and is very clean though not luxurious. Our seasonal neighbors and all those we met at the two (very well attended) community events were very friendly. Many have been returning to Shady Acres for decades. The pool aerobics looked fun but the class filled up before I got there. The pool is nice but small. The rate is with the Good Sam Discount. We would definitely camp here again in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The inside of shower in mens was dirty! The corners in the women's were dirty you could tell a man had cleaned because it wasn't done well, just a quick mop job. We were angry as we had used our CCUSA and were given the rate by phone we paid the amount for the stay as was expected by check. I called again on Dec 13th to verify the rate as noticed the dates had changed on the CCUSA internet site. They assured me that since it was taken as that time it would be honored. When we arrived they changed their mind, said new managers now and would not honor their previous quoted rate, but did give us a minor discount. Not Happy Campers! Our site was so small (we are 25 feet and no slides) that we could not even put up our awning. The pool is heated, but small, especially for the number of people trying to use it. It did have nice activities and a great duck/fish pond. I would never stay there again because I couldn't trust them. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park and great employees! We felt very at home at this park! All of our camping neighbors were fabulous! The park is extremely clean and well landscaped. Right off a very busy main road in Fort Myers, but you would never know it! Very secluded and quiet! We will stay here again! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We called to cancel our reservations with a 28 day notice and were told that we were not eligible to get any kind of refund on our deposit because we did not call 30 days ahead which is the policy. However, our reservation was for six days, so I asked if we could get a partial refund for the four days that we DID give the 30 day notice. The manager called the owner and he/she said no. We were led to believe that if this had been a medical emergency, we would have received a refund. Makes one think that perhaps honesty is NOT the best policy. We will definitely never camp here, and we will make sure that everyone we know hears our story. Very poor management. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park sits aways back from US 41 so there is very little road noise. Lots of activities in the park. It is located within walking distance to grocery,drug store and restaurant. There is a car wash on site. The park is big into recycling-doing their part to "go green". Both the Cafe and the Tiki Hut had food at reasonable prices. All facilities and grounds were clean. All in all a very good experience. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Upon arrival at this site we were told that because we didn't book in advance that we could not get the Good Sam discount, we accepted refusal of discount from the friendly lady who booked us in, we were escorted to our campsite by two men in a golf cart, one who took great satisfaction and delight as he laughed watching as we tried to squeeze into what looked like an obstacle course, a grassy area with tree stumps sticking out of the ground, next day my wife went to the laundry and left her washing for five minutes and returned only to find one of the residence had removed her washing and put his in the machine, no washing had been taken but in my opinion removing someones unfinished washing to use their machine is as low as theft, we would not stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I had to laugh when I read the reviews. I thought it may have been me that had problems with the management. This campground has great potential. The people who run the campground have the worst attitude of any campground I've ever been to. Nice grounds but some areas need attention. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground with excellent amenities. Some of the sites were closer than I would like but overall it is a well laid out facility. My only negative comment on the place would be that the host needs a little help with his people skills...kind of reminds me of the grumpy old man that used to live next door when I was a kid. On the flip side the hostess makes up for that with her charm and helpfulness. We camped here in a Motorhome.

While I was inside getting prices and asking about our dog, my husband and bloodhound wait in our Ford F550 truck. A woman came bursting into the office screaming 'excuse me, excuse me!!!!!!!!' I thought she need the lady behind the desk, well she was talking to me. She very rudely and distasteful told me that 'we do not allow those types of trucks in here, they tear up the roads' I thanked the lady behind the counter and left. I don't know why she needed to yell about it and why they don't let the F550s in their park because I know that our truck does not weight as much as our trailer or as a pusher. Anyway, I would not recommend this park, just as the guy previous wrote there sign says, modem friendly but that must be the only thing friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park, with a lot to do for the seniors. We were here in January, and there were a lot of snowbirds here. The park was clean and the pool was open, they offer everything from bingo to Bocce to Bible study. The sites were grassy and not too small. They take you to your site and help you back in. The minor drawback that the entrance road needs to be repaved. It is a Passport America park and we paid a great price for each night. The staff was friendly and helpful. A minor pain was that if you wanted to use the washer/dryer, you had to have get a smart card and put money on it to use them. In all, we will definitely go back there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found the park well kept, and nicely decorated for the holidays. Someone met us as we pulled up, had us follow him to our spot, and helped us back in ("Just do what I say, I have done this on aircraft carriers for years"). We lost track of time (Sanibel Island is very nice) and over-stayed a day, arriving back at our site at 3 PM. The lady in the office was understanding, and let us pay and stay for an extra day, even though the spot was supposed to go to another camper who was waiting. I apologized to the other camper, and he was accommodating also. This could have gotten ugly, but it did not. I was a happy camper. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pulling into this campground we were greeted by a large sign at the entrance that says, "This is a modem friendly campground." I'll get back to that. Upon check-in, the office staff was friendly and a young gent on a golf cart escorted us to our assigned site, #60. When we got there we weren't aware this was a site. It looked like the yard of the neighboring camper. Our escort aided us in going back and forth 10 times until we were in. A phone pole guy wire restricted our entry so the front of our 30' MH was 3' from the pavement. If I were to have pulled the awning down it would have been on the neighbor's slide out. I tried to plug in my electric but a pole blocked the door to my electic hatch from opening. No room to park our tow car either. Our escort told us the management had mistakenly allowed our neighbor to extend his slide out in an area of the park that restricted them. Complaining to the office staff about our dilemma we found no sympathy, just that it was the last site available in the park. The manager was requested and I plead my case that we didn't drive in off the road, we had made a reservation 8 months prior and we were given a tent site. He blew up at us and told the staff to give us our money back and we could stay somewhere else. His wife came out of the office and offered us an overflow site on the parking lot w/o sewer or cable. Being prime time, the other parks in the area were full so that's where we stayed. Later that day there was a pop-up on site 60. Back to the sign: because of our location we couldn't find out if the park was modem friendly but we found out why the sign didn't say "Management friendly." We won't be back. This is our second visit to this park. The reasons for our return are: its convenient location to everything between Sarasota and Naples as well as a somewhat longer but still doable trip to the Everglades. The friendly and warm atmosphere from the staff and from the many longer term residents who make you feel at home in a neighborhood setting is wonderful. The only reasons we haven't rated this a "ten" is because it has older but clean bathrooms and it doesn't have cable tv for shorter term visitors. However, we visited a few other parks in the area and this one is clearly superior. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Employees at this park are very friendly. There are lots of park models here. They keep the park clean but the roads you need to navigate to get to your site are small. Good cement pads but ours were not quite level. There is a very nice pool. We stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed the area. You can also wash your rig, a big plus for us. If in the area, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great atmosphere and friendly employees. This park has allot of potential: need to get rid of those old campers laying around. Aside from that we really enjoyed it, would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Older park with many trees. Roads very narrow but able to navigate with our 40 ft. and tow. The office was very pleasant. We were pretty well checked in with the info. from my phone reservation. We had a paved long pull thru for just overnight. They have dog walks, but are in the darkest areas of the park around ponds and woods. Still very workable for the dogs. We stayed there on our way down to Key West and will stay on our return trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park with cement pull through sites. Accommodated my 45 foot Class A perfectly. Employees are extremely nice and helpful with practically anything you have questions about. We stayed here 3 weeks and enjoyed the peaceful park and the convenience of being close to endless shopping and restaurants! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a well-maintained older park with many park models; but lots of sites for RV's also. They have a nice pool and two clean, updated and reasonably priced laundry rooms. We were put in a site at the very back of the park between two Park Models, so it was very quiet. This is a nice park and convenient to shopping and only a few miles from I-75. We had many conversations with nice people who winter there. The only downside was no cable TV unless you are staying at least 30 days. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an old Florida type campground and institution in the area. Lots of mature trees in the area and 3 lakes for fishing. Very large and nice pool and hot tub. Located in South Fort Myers close to Estero. Many “Snowbird” permanent sites, but the travelers sites are located close to the office and to the bath houses. There is a large activities room with planned events and a pool table and ping pong and a nice exercise room. Restaurants, parks and shopping nearby. All in all it is a very nice park. We ended up staying 4 nights. We used Camp Cub America a 50% discount club and the above price reflects that. The park is located about 5 minutes from exit 123 I-75. We will be staying again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
