Spent a single night here passing through. Clean, well cared for park with large pull through sites. Onsite cafe, lake and walking trail. Great WiFi connection! Rest rooms / bath houses were exceptionally clean and well maintained. We will stay here again on our way back through. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground with beautiful view of lake. Front desk Staff was very helpful; they held our site for extra days because didn't know when leaving due to weather. On site cafe. Food was so-so but at least available if you can't go out. Entertainment on most Friday/Saturday nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects a special rally rate. We camped here as part of a organized rally, which has been done for four previous year. This park is the closest to the downtown area of Jacksonville. It is a well operated park, very friendly and a pleasure at which to stay. Previous comments about the closeness of some sites in the older (north side) of the park. Our rally was on the south side of the lake, which is nearer to I-95. All sites are pull through, level gravel. Full services plus TV cable and good free WiFi is available. We have already booked next year's rally at this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our third time staying here. The first was by the lake which was very pleasant. The second was on the gravel area near the highway which was not as nice as we would have liked it. But this third time, we stayed near the office and really enjoyed our 1 day stay. Very nice office staff and the onsite "cafe" by the lake was a cool little place. Nice stopping point on our trips from north to south. Will definitely say here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the second stay in this park for us. Both were long term, four months this time because of rotator cuff surgery (OUCH!). This is a pretty nice place. As long term guests, we have a back-in site in the trees but there are many pull-throughs for over nighters. Our site is in the trees on the north side of the lake. It's quiet and peaceful. Was guided to the site and the staff is constantly cleaning and keeping things in order. Daily garbage pick up. Cable is great as is the very superb internet. Probably the best Wi-Fi in any campground - ever. Faster than my Verizon MiFi. Lots of weekend activities. The office staff is superb - as are all the other park enployees. Nice folks and that's unusual in this day and age. Two drawbacks - the bad part of town begins on the other side of the I-225 freeway but there have been no problems whatsoever. It is also colder here during the winter than I'd like it to be. I like this place and will stay here again if in the area. The rate is based on a monthly stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

First, the positives: great cable, office people were nice and someone is there to escort you to your site. The negatives: very noisy, sites are extremely close, there was no respect for privacy rules like we've noticed in other campgrounds. A couple times in the same night cars would use the grass on our site to back up. Their cars were literally right next to the door of our motor coach! This campground seems like they attract a noisy party crowd which is fine unless you are looking for peace and quiet. Would not camp here again!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park in a beautiful setting. It is right along the freeway but the noise wasn't too bad. The problem that I had was the lack of campground rule enforcement. I am not a prude nor do I judge how people comport themselves. I can howl at the moon with the best of them. The amount of really drunk people driving around in golf carts is an issue. People openly consuming alcohol while driving golf carts: one guy standing in front of my site smoking grass. Like I said, I am not begrudging anyone having a good time. But it was a touch out of hand. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for six weeks while my wife underwent treatments at a nearby medical facility. Flamingo Lake is an attractive park with many amenities. The grounds are very well kept and all of the staff we met during our time here were friendly and courteous. All utilities worked flawlessly, although on hot, busy weekends there is a significant voltage drop in electric service. I use a regulator so I wasn't concerned, but it's worth monitoring. WI-FI service was excellent and Verizon 4G LTE in the area is a great backup. Cable service is included in the nightly rate and local over the air broadcast is outstanding. Two disappointing aspects of our stay here: (1) There is a good deal of traffic noise from nearby I-295. (2) Although management claimed to offer flexibility for their medical customers, when my wife's schedule changed and we found that she would be finished a day earlier than expected, management was unwilling to refund even one day of fees. It is their policy and I respect that, but when they claimed flexibility and then proved not to be so, it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth after an otherwise nice stay. We will come back if we're in the area. Honestly there aren't a lot of other choices around here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our second stay. Nice sites that are level and accommodate 45ers. Dean lake with two swimming beaches. The only negative is that one side of the park is near the interstate so there is traffic noise when you are outside. The low nightly rate reflects the monthly rate. We generally stay 2-3 months. Overnight stop for us, but obviously a weekend retreat for many families. Sites follow the shore of a large lake with beaches and lots of water related activities. Cafe serves fast food. The park is just off I-295 so might be noisy, but we had a/c to counteract any annoyance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

On the North side of Jacksonville, Fl, but you would think you were in a remote area. Well kept. Camped by the wonderful lake with 2 water fountains and a roped off swimming area with water slide. On-site restaurant is a nice touch. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As a full-timer, I base out of the Jacksonville area, so I return here frequently. I dread having to stay at this park, but it’s the only acceptable commercial campground in the area. The pros: The very large park is clean, offers very good Wi-Fi service, excellent cable TV, and weekly live entertainment if you’re into that sort of thing. The cons: The sites are very noisy, being located right alongside I-295, an extremely busy highway. They are also very small with coaches parked close to each other. There is little shade, so make sure that your A/C is working. During my recent stay the check-in process was horrible! I was 6th in a line of motorhomes waiting to check in. It took 50 minutes from the time I arrived at the park to get to my site since there was only one person on a golf cart escorting people to their assigned spots in this very large park. Meanwhile, several other staff members stood around chatting, oblivious to the backup. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park for 2 nights. It was very nice, and the office staff were extremely friendly. The sites are well thought out, paved and in-general the park is very clean. They close the gate overnight, if you need access they can give you a code. This makes the park secure at night, albeit I didn't feel the need (or unsafe), as the area the park is in seemed nice, plus it's tucked away off a quiet side-road. While very minor, depending on the site you stay in, they may have to take you to a turn-around area, which is extremely dusty and unpaved. This caused our freshly washed car in tow to become completely covered in white dust. As a gesture of great customer service, the office staff allowed us to wash the car off after they saw what happened without making us purchase a wash pass. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park with great amenities and a beautiful lake. It is very large and most sites are very spacious. Easy access off the freeway is great, but some of the interior roads were clogged with large trucks hanging out into the road, which became a real problem when trying to leave. Not to naysay, because all the good things mentioned here are true, but it is right next to a very busy freeway and if you don't like loud noise then you will not like it here. I had to sleep with the fan going to help drown out the noise. I would not stay here again due to the noise, but there were a lot of folks there so apparently it doesn't bother everyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park with a great staff. Roads are a little tight if the campground is full, but we had no trouble navigating with the help of the park escort. We stayed here one night while attending a concert in Jacksonville. The pull-throughs in the front of the campground are long and easy to get into, but you're subjected to more of the interstate noise in these sites. Other sites around the lake (must be for longer stays) are more secluded. We ate lunch and breakfast at the cafe on site, and the food was very good. We would definitely stay here again. Great resort complemented by a wonderful staff. We held our club rally here and were made to feel very welcome and all of our needs were met. The cafe in the resort is a plus, the facilities are top notch and the recreation staff is the most pleasant found anywhere. Office is run efficiently and all are friendly. Highly recommend. We only stayed overnight on our way through, but saw little to complain about, save the bath house. It appears not to have been updated in decades: wooden stalls and doors, old hardware. The floors were dirty, though the fixtures were "clean enough" if not sparkling. Our site was a moderately spacious pull-through in the back of the park near the interstate, so there was significant traffic noise. Most of the park appears to be long-term or seasonal residents. We didn't try the cafe or need anything from the small camp store. Nor did we use the pretty little lake with its man-made beach. We'd stay here again if passing through, but for a vacation weekend or week I'd probably look for places closer to the coast. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We absolutely loved this campground. Our site was paved with a concrete patio, level, and shady. Even though our site was not directly on the lake, we still had a nice view (Site 49). The park staff was friendly. We liked being able to choose swimming in either the lake or the pool. The cafe food was good and reasonably priced. Wi-Fi was acceptable. Our only complaint would be the road noise from I-295. It wasn't unbearable where we were, but we did notice it when sitting outside. We will definitely camp here again. This park looks like an 8, but our experience is a 7 at best. More of a trailer park than a resort. Ad in TL is very misleading. Nothing tranquil or peaceful about this place. Constant noise from I-295 and the road in front of park. Many permanent sites whose residents start leaving for work at 5am. Our site was very narrow, so we had a very close neighbor on each side. But, the food at the on-site cafe is great! We probably will not come back due to noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Orlando. We did not have a reservation. The website said there were no sites available, but when we called they had a spot in overflow. It was a nice pull-through site. The resort was clean and the lake looked nice. There are a fair number of permanent sites, but all the sites looked nice. We would stay here again. Well kept RV park. Park employees were very friendly and always working to keep the park looking great. Showers and restrooms were very nice as was the laundry facility. Quiet at our location however some sites are near the interstate. WiFi worked very well and cable TV offered many channels. Wal-Mart and Home Depot are about 1/2 mile from CG. Park is well-wooded and surrounds a lake. There were fountains in the lake, and one is lit up at night - cool. Too cold to use the lake or pool when we were there, but looked like it would be fun in the summer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Park is older, but all facilities we used were in great shape. We stayed on a site with a concrete pad. It was cracked but fairly level. There are also sites with just gravel, and sites backing onto the water (lake). There is a small diner in the park on the water with very friendly staff. Menu is OK, with burgers and sandwiches. Wi-Fi and cable TV worked well for us. We enjoyed the atmosphere and would stay there again. (Rate was Good Sam rate). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Charged $3 each for kids: NOT HAPPY with that from the get-go! Stayed in #35. Roads are easy to get in and out of, and in good condition. Nothing special about this park, but it's very close to Wal-Mart (approximately 1/2 mile). They don't seem to welcome kids here, but nobody was rude. There is a store, pool, lake with activities, etc., but the park isn't 'warm.' Overall, not bad, and not secluded. I would stay here again, but not for a long period of time. We called and asked for a site on the lake but NOT a Luxury site with a poured pad. We were informed that the ones we requested weren't long enough for a 45'. We arrived and were escorted to the only Luxury paved pad left. It was seriously cracked everywhere. When we positioned our bus close to the drivers side and stepped out, we barely had 4 feet of room in which to walk and set up a couple of chairs. If you aren't careful, you will literally fall off the pad which is raised about 8" from the ground. There is no grass growing next to pad as it is fill and only a few feet from the next pad. There is a little "dock for seating at the end of each paver pad BUT you can't sit out because the sun is too intense. The level, gravel sites have plenty of length and are much wider AND are still on the Lake facing North so you have afternoon shade and will have room to spread out under your awning. We would NEVER stay on one of the new paver sites again and they are much more pricey. It felt like we were pitching a tent on a postage stamp. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stay here at least once a month in the summer. They have a nice pool but my grandkids love the lake. We always get waterfront sites so my grandson can fish (not great fishing but okay for kids). Water is so clear at some spots you can see big fish, but we have never gotten a big one to bite. Park workers are fantastic. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights and found the campground enjoyable. There are two sections - those on gravel near the expressway which are large pull throughs and are big rig friendly. The other sits on the opposite side of the lake are smaller and set tight in the trees with paved drives, pull throughs & back in's. We did not have a problem navigating with our 42' motorhome. The GM indicated the newer - gravel section will be paved once the city approves their request. Enjoyed the lake and the facilties and will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I just loved this park! It was in a rustic setting, with a pretty lake (good fishing and swimming) that had a sand beach and rental non=motorized boats. The sites on the side far from the interstate were much nicer: quieter, and more wooded. I wouldn't have enjoyed the side next to I-295. We were in site 12, which was lovely. We had a large grassy area behind the site to put chairs right beside the lake. Many of the sites are farther apart to allow for the trees. We didn't swim or use the rec hall, laundry, etc., so I can't vouch for those, but to sit and enjoy the sun and breeze, you couldn't ask for much more. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall a nice campground with very friendly staff. Two complaints: all of the paved spots were full, so I got a gravel spot. Some of the gravel sites had standing water puddles, mine included. The sewer cleanout was a little far, so I did not connect the first night. For the second night I moved to a paved site. Second complaint: since my water heater was broken, I had to use the shower house. The closest shower was the Rec Center (which only had one shower). Unfortunately the sink area was filthy and covered in hairs. There was no hook to hang my things and no mat on the floor. I mentioned this to the staff and hopefully they will do better next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground right off I-295. I suspect had we been on the south side of the Lake, the noise from the highway might have been an issue. Two loops around the lake came to just shy of two miles. The men's room and showers were clean. However, the ladies bathroom was less attractive and the shower needed cleaning. We wintered in this park for a couple of months and were pleased with the experience. Other posters have described this place quite well. It was a nice place and we will probably stay here again if in the area. The staff was friendly and were everywhere cleaning and keeping the place tidy. We had a problem with the electrical and the cable TV immediately upon arriving, but they had an electrician who fixed everything within minutes. The monthly rate was $650/month including everything which I feel is a good value. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an extremely well run RV park. We were there during Thanksgiving and the park put on a Thanksgiving dinner for campers who had no where else to go. The park provided the turkeys (free of charge) and guests brought side dishes. The lake is clean and usable, there's a cafe on site serving decent, reasonably priced meals, and both the Wi-Fi and cable TV worked fine. One quirk was that the gate is locked a midnight, so if you know you'll be out late you need to request a key card to get back in to the park. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and would definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This a nice, well managed campground. We were in the 'E' section. Our only complaints are road noise from I-295 and dust from the gravel roads. There is an area that is paved. E section seems more roomy. If you are traveling to this campground via I-295N you might consider taking the exit just south (Dunn road) and going East to Lem Turner and then north. This will allow you to avoid a terrible intersection turn and is only about 3 miles out of the way. If in the area again, we would stay in this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects the monthly rate. Monthly rental fee includes $120 of electric usage, which should be enough for most campers (changed after initial $65 usage announced). Sites are metered now and anything above $120 in electric cost for each site will be charged to that camper. Be advised that this park is setting up to charge for electricity for monthly stays. You're allowed up to $65 of electrical use in the monthly rent, and anything above $65: you'll be billed for! Nice campground as long as you're on the side of the lake with cement pads. Same price for gravel pads on the other side of the lake. What's up with that?? This is a well maintained campground. The pool is small but spotlessly clean as were the grounds. Upon arrival we were quickly escorted to our shaded site. One of their people stopped about a half hour later to see if we had any issues and to make sure everything was working correctly. Highly recommend this park!!! It is a state of the art full service resort. We were so pleased with this park in every single way. No complaints!! We loved it so much we extended an extra three days. The view was perfect, the condition of the park was perfect. We loved the restaurant where the prices were more than reasonable. Entertainment was terrific! There was a family group singing while we were there and they were just tremendous!! The front desk personnel and all of the employees were friendly. The store was small, but there is a Wal-Mart within a half mile. Very convenient to everything! We visited the beaches, Amelia Island, it was just perfect in every way. The park is nice in areas. We were put in a space very close to I-295 and it was very noisy for the time we were there. We were asked at time of reservations how old our m/h is and told they have 10 year limit - but we saw m/h that exceeded that age and were not in very nice shape. We have been rving for three years and have been to our fair share of parks. This park is absolutly beautiful, from the road! The staff is very friendly, but their management is very unprofessional. If you enjoy animals and are fond of barking dogs then this park is awesome. The friendly staff will gladly recommend again and again that you keep complaining. And the best part is you get to listen to barking dogs the whole time. Or if the wildlife is not your thing than come and enjoy the "learn as you go rules." Although everything one would want in amenities is available here, it does make it a bit expensive for the traveling RVer. On the “up” side; the entire staff is very helpful and cheerful in their interactions with all guests. There is a very good escort service to all sites, and almost all parking is very easy because of the large sites. There is ample parking at each site for your vehicle and a visitor. There is a restaurant on the lake that serves a great breakfast at very reasonable prices. The sites are well designed with a good view at just about all of them. There is a 24 hour security system staffed with volunteers, which is very nice to have in a large park like this. The cable TV has about 70 channels and all are very clear, so no need to hook up the Dish. The 50 amp power is a real 50 amps. No CB popping here. No license required for fishing and it's free. On the “down” side; the roads in the new section are very potted and the gravel used throughout that section gets into your tires and you have lots of pinging going on when you leave and get up to speed. The new section is very close to I295 and with no sound barrier the road noise is very high at times. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I would have given them a 10 but when does an RV Resort cross over to a Trailer Park. It seems more and more RV camping areas have become permanent homes to people. The staff was friendly and the newly reopened cafe was a nice amenity. They had a nice size fenced area for dogs which was great. The lake is very nice and we had one of the sites that looks out over the lake, a little pricey for a concrete pad that won't allow you to sit under your awaning. While everyone we met was nice and enjoyed the consevation. I hate to think those of us that like camping and have rigs that won't fit in some parks are left with trailer parks! The staff at Flamingo Lake were very helpful and very friendly. We arrived after dark, and just after the office closed but they have someone available until midnight for late arrivals. A staff member will drive you to your site. We had a pull-through site, which was great for our overnight stay. Concrete pad sites with very easy hook ups. Each site has a lighthouse-shaped power/cable station. The station has a low-level light on it which makes it easy to hook up after dark but does not bother the neighbors. The only down-side is that the sites are close together. Although we could appreciate the power of the diesel engine next to us, listening to it at 7:30 AM right outside our bedroom window was a wake up call we weren't expecting. It wasn't really a problem, though. We would stay here again. It is a perfect location for someone travelling from South Florida northward. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Quick access of I-295 with easy access for big rigs ( 40'+) in certain sites. Paved roads and paved patios on about 1/2 of the park. The only complaint I had was the always low water pressure. I had to leave my pump on to maintain water pressure to take showers. You can pay a couple of bucks for water to wash your car and/or RV which I really liked. I wish more parks would allow that! A few nits: 1) Traffic noise from the highway is bad at the entrance to the park--we were maybe 50 feet from the office. Further back in the park seems to be much quieter. 2) Laundry prices are fairly ridiculous at $1.75 per (very small) washer load, and $2.00 for a dryer cycle. 3) The showers were dark and somewhat cold. Don't let Google Earth fool you. 95% trees on the south side of the lake have been removed, therefore satellite friendly. Nice lakeside sites (as well as non-lakeside). Swimming beaches on certified alligator free lake. Fishing allowed without license. South lakeside sites are design with dual hookups for back-in (trailers) or front-in (RVs). Paved roads and pads, except those on the south side which are expected to be paved soon. Second and third rows from the lake on south side are pull-thru. We had an enjoyable stay here in our motorhome. They were most helpful in every respect. I would return in a heart-beat. The view of the lake from our rig was very relaxing and pleasant. They are close to the Wal-Mart for easy shopping and right off of the freeway for easy access going either east or west. It is also close to Dick Gore's RV Service and they did a great job for me. We just stopped here for one night. As we are a 45' motorhome towing a trailer, we are very careful to make sure ahead of time we will fit. At Flamingo Lake the site they gave us had plenty of width and length. Easy in and out. We were not in the front row but could still see the lake and fountains. Pretty much right next to I 295. Staff was friendly. The WIFI is costly: they use Linkspot, and you pay by the hour, day, or week. We did not use it because I hate to pay for WIFI for one night. My only other comment is that they have a rule stating that dogs may not use their owner's campsite for doing their business. The campground has 2 dog walking areas, both of which were quite far from our site. Am not sure how I would convince my dogs that they had to wait until I got to the designated area. Of course we always pick up immediately after them. Would probably stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We thought the park was extremely clean and the management very friendly. We came with our parents who also had a 38' motorcoach. We had an escort to our site, which was a pull thru. There were plenty of those and no trees overhead, but one section of the park had very large powerlines right next to the gravel pull thru sites. Not very attractive, but we were told that the best pull thru sites were all taken and these were the only ones available. We still had a nice lake view in the front. There really was no noise in the park at all and it was full when we went. The lake was beautiful and the pool and laundry area very clean. (We did not use the restrooms). This is a fairly pleasant place to stay although I'm not sure it's entirely worthy of all the accolades it has received. We stayed in the front. The rear portion where the lake is appears a little newer and a little nicer than the front. It's convenient to I-295 with easy on/off. Perhaps a little too convenient as the front gets some of the noise from the interstate traffic. We didn't find it particularly disturbing, but I could see how some might. Plane traffic also will periodically remind you that the airport is nearby. The roads are paved although they are somewhat windy and narrow in spots and maneuvering requires a little caution. Sites are also paved but up front they are a little tired with cracked, rippled, pock-mocked sections and, in a few spots, there are holes left by leveling jacks going right through the pavement. Some sites are also a little tight to get in and out of, especially with our crew cab/long bed truck and 38' 5th wheel. Facilities seem clean and well kept if not a little tired and dated. Staff are friendly and helpful. As I said, it's a fairly pleasant place to stay and we would probably go back. As for the ratings of "10", I suspect these reviewers have never had the opportunity to stay at a resort that really rates a 10! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice place to stay. Roads and sites are blacktop, level, cement patio, no dust on northside of park. Lot of sites are on the 17 acre lake, lake has three springs to supply water. Some sites are a little close together. Low road noise (I-295) if sites are on northside of lake. Sites on southside are gravel and roads are dirt, also very close to I-295. Roads and site will have a upgrade very soon to blacktop. Gate is locked at 11:00 pm each night. You have a golf driving range into lake, two white sandy beachs, nature walk, fishing in lake, swimming in lake or pool, horseshoes, basket ball, shaded picinc tables on lake. Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and shopping center very close by. Park also has Oasis Restaurant on lake. No more Passport rates. Park was full of happy RV people. All sites have concrete patios some right against the lake they were beautiful sites. They have a wonderful place to hook up to the internet pretty sure there was 2 booths set up for this. This is an excellent park; I really don't understand bad reviews unless something drastic happen to them. The Park is very clean, inside and outside, security gate just installed and now activated. A lot of full-timers here, but you have to stay a few days to know who they are. Management doesn't allow any site to look bad. This is a terrible RV park. The staff is unfriendly. The park does not accept mail. You have to pay a hotel tax plus sales tax and the nightly fee, which comes to over $35 per night. The pool was closed and it didn't appear to be a heated pool. My neighbor was very noisy and when I complained to the management nothing was done about it. They told me I could leave the park if I didn't like my neighbors. There were no security gates at the back or front of the park. There was no park security officer. The park was dark at night-not enough lights. I did not feel safe. The lake had a lot of trash in it. Restrooms were dirty. Campsites are very close to each other. There were no cabins to rent. Traffic was going fast thru the park disobeying the 5 mph speed limit. There was a rule of no dogs over 30 pounds allowed, and I saw many dogs over 30 pounds in the park. The cost per night was too much. There was not enough electric power in the park. The curcuit breakers in my camper kept kicking off. Go to a camp in St Augustine or Hanna Park in Jacksonville. We were scheduled to stay at a Member Owned CG in St. Augustine. When we arrived we were told they would not allow C2C's because of a holiday coming up on June 27 - 30. Where is the holiday? We called Flamingo Lake Resort. They had a place for us. They were very friendly and helpful. (Our generator went out in Chipley.) This is a very pleasant place to stay, well maintained sites and very clean. I will rate Flamingo Lake Resort higher than the C2C that turned us away, because it was a much better park. It was, from what I saw: #1 Cleaner, #2 More shaded lots, #3 Better roads, #4 Better parking sites, #5 The staff was alot more friendly, #6 A more pleasant atmosphere. Good place to stay. We camped here in a camper.

I have lived in this park for more than a year (this is what we call our home base) when we leave for a trip it is like homecoming when we return. All the folks, overnighters and casual campers look out for each other. The staff is very nice and friendly, with good, no, excellent security. The comments on this site regarding the young child is way off base, and I was here at the time and it was not at all like stated. The campgrounds only problem was trying to keep everyone happy. And with todays society, I can really understand the other party's apprehension. We camped here in a camper.

RV parks in Jacksonville are very limited so this one is handy for business in the city or when you have people to visit. 25 minute drive to beaches. The neighborhood is a little questionable but we had no trouble during our stay. The park is half "trailer park" and half for Rv's. The staff and managers are great people and run the park very well. The only main let-down for the park is the bathrooms. No doubt the managers are limited on what they could do with run-down aging bathrooms that are difficult to clean. It is time the owners dipped into their pockets and modernized them. An update for the building is way overdue and as a result we could only say that they were way below the standard expected of $35 a night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We just paid $35 to be accused of stealing a site, and hassled beyond belief! We arrived late and followed the late check-in instructions that were on the sign at the office to choose any open site and pay in the morning. That was not good enough. Three knocks on our door later (all after 11pm), we're finally told that it's ok to stay until the morning. They weren't going to provide a key to the washroom, but apparently reconsidered and came by at midnight to give us one. It would seem that there is a specific area for overnight and we were just supposed to know that by psychic powers I guess (absolutely no instructions to that effect anywhere). They saw us setting up and could have come and told us then that we were in the wrong place and we would have gladly moved, but no, they waited until we were all hooked up with our two young kids sleeping before they decided to come and pay us a visit. Very poor customer service. We will never come back here again, regardless of how close it is to Jacksonville. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Huguenot is a Jacksonville "City" Park located at the mouth of Saint Johns River. We love this primitive river side campground and have been camping here for years. RV's will need a low noise generator. Bring your bug spray. The showers and bathrooms are currently in poor condition but in working order. Weekdays are quiet but the locals pack in for the beach and party during the summer weekends. We consider the weekend party part of the charm and join in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped at Huguenot State Park on the drive back north from DisneyWorld. The park is primitive and very natural. We had site 14 which was a corner site with a beautiful view of the bay. The kids enjoyed catching hermit crabs by the shoreline. The ocean beach is a short drive away where you can park on the beach. The beach is nice and the water was very warm but we noticed a person letting their dog use the ocean to do its business in front of the lifeguard, yuk. The bathrooms were very dirty and there were kids partying all night long. Normally this is not a problem but without electric and AC on an 80 degree night the windows have to be open. Didn't see a ranger once except when checking out. The dump station was also out of order when we were checking out so we had to drive with dirty tanks until we found a station at Camping World in Savannah. Overall the campground is nice but I wouldn't consider camping in Florida in the summer again without electric and AC. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very shady park - if you want sun this is not the place. Very nice for summer heat - buggy though, so be prepared. Close to beach, 1 mile walk, great parking at beach though. Great bike trails, and lake for canoeing. Avoid site 98,99,100 - low and watery if rains. Look for sites that are not with the tent crowd if you want less activity. We were in 37' 5th wheel, some areas very tight, be picky about where you stay. They change the gate codes on Tuesdays and may not mention this until you get to the gate. Will go back in fall or spring We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Delightful municipal park campground. Full hookups. Dirt sites were not level. Many amenities including beach and lake within easy walk, hiking trails, and picnic areas. Firepits at sites. Camp store was closed. Campground had gate securing it from rest of park. A good place to hold a rally, we were with an Airstream group. We enjoyed our stay and may return. Kind of hard getting in and out on the campground interior roads. Very narrow and very sharp turns. If I was any longer I would have been scraping trees going around corners.Forget the satellite with all the tree cover. I have reviewed this park several times before, but am again. No question it is a great park. Several improvements have been made. The electrical systems have been improved in many sites. One of my previous complaints has been removed. Since 9/11, the Navy base had been doing continuous helicopter flights around the adjacent Navy base as part of the security and the did make some noise (at several thousand feet). That is gone now. The area was hit a week before by tropical storm Bryl the week before, but things were generally cleaned up in the campground. There are many nature trails and some had limbs down. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground was in the middle of having all the electrical work done and completed sites were in a total mess, the ground has not been raked to level the sites, branches and twigs laying everywhere, the dirt on the sites were not packed down. I expected them to be cleaned up if that is what the workers there are supposed to do and not sit in their golf carts in the campground talking to one another. The campground looked like a dump. If the workers spent time cleaning this place up it could be making a lot more money. Hope something is done real soon to fix the major problem of the workers slacking off. A definite 10 if not for some tricky access, tight turns and low hanging limbs and vines. It's OK, but gets your "pucker factor" going. The park is beautifull and sits under a dense canopy of live oaks with spanish moss. That rules out satellite but we got plenty of stations over the air. There are also plenty of Red Boxes in the area. They are in-progress on upgrading all sites to 50amp right now and the park is very well maintained in general. Security is good with coded gates and guards. The sewer ports are strange, with a riser that comes up and turns parallel to the ground, so have some way to get your hose up and situated to drain well. We'd definitely stay here again. Also, it is only 15 minutes to Mayo Clinic. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite parks that we have stayed at. This is a great park and a spectacular value! Beautiful setting, gated and secure, sites are one block from the ocean, and reasonably priced. Access to and in the park was easy for our larger RV, although we worried if we we were headed to the right place as some of the surrounding neighborhood is not the greatest. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed walking around the park's nature trails, lake, and of course to the ocean. Lots of mountain biking trails in the park. Clean and attractive sites and park grounds. Not only would we definitely return, we cant wait to return here! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is owned and run by the City of Jacksonville. It is a gem! Roads are paved and sites are gravel/sand and quite level. Good walking areas. There is a campground store/restaurant at the RV entrance, but we did not use it. A word of caution. There are trees and lots of them. Unhitch at the main registration area and drive (if towing) to plan your moves. We did OK with the 42' motor home, but pre-planning was essential. You will do OK, but check the campground route and your site. Everyone (staff and campers) were extremely friendly. Without question we would stay another few days on a future trip to the area. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Best kept secret on the East Coast. Very nice park. We camp here at least once a year. Very wooded with a natural look. Most sites are divided by natural growth. 50 amp sites are limited, but we have had our 40' on most of them. Some sites are not level but are doable. Facilities are dated but are maintained well. Restrooms and showers are also dated but kept clean as long as you remember you are on the beach and sand is everywhere. Sand gets tracked into the restrooms. Best part is how quiet the park is and how close you are to a fabulous beach. Staff and host campers are friendly and do most anything to keep campers happy. There is a small store. Close to all supplies, restaurants, groceries, movies, etc. Military BX and Commissary within a mile and is off base. Excellent value especially if you like the beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second trip to this campground. Again we spent a week here. The park is starting to show its age. While there, there was a power outage which lasted twelve hours. Two days later a water main broke which put us without water for two days. While fixing the water problem, a power line was cut, again no electric for almost another day. After speaking with the park manager, the City has set aside funds to upgrade everything in the park. Hopefully this will start sometime this year. The park staff was accommodating during all these problems. The management seemed to work hard to get the City of Jacksonville to fix the utilities. They even agreed to refund some of our money, even though this is a NO REFUND park. The campground hosts are constantly driving the area and were helpful during our entire stay. Law enforcement was present during much of our stay. They patrolled the main road, which is also used by hikers and bikers. I saw countless traffic stops during our stay. It was comforting to see their visibility. They also patrolled inside the campground. As for the facilities, in spite of their age, everything was clean and in working order. The beaches were well maintained. All staff we encountered were helpful and courteous. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice county park. First the good parts. The price is reasonable for a full hook up spot. Some rows are 50 amp. The sites are good size, and there are lots of places to walk the pets. They have more campground hosts than I have ever seen at any other park, but they keep it very clean. Lots of easy beach access not far from the campground. The not so good: The sites are dirt and can be muddy in the rain. They are also well worn and some are sloped a lot from one side to the other. Bring blocks. Satellite reception may be difficult due to the heavy tree canopy in many of the sites. It was winter so the bugs were not an issue. I stayed here again a week later and still loved it. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent camping experience for grandparents with 8 and 11 year olds in tow. Courteous and helpful staff. Bike trails, wave bobbing, beachcombing at loooong beach with lifeguards, campfires and walks made the lack of TV a total non issue. The week went by too quickly for this great park in the trees. Felt like a wilderness park, but with all conveniences very close. A little tight on the loops, but we had a huge spot. Sandy soil, bring two welcome mats! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our campground of choice when visiting family in Jacksonville. With the live oaks, palm trees and palmettos, it’s like living in a tropical jungle. The roads are paved, campsites are sand. This 300-site campground is part of a beautiful park along the ocean; only campers are given the code into the campground. Some campsites are adjacent to a lake. Weekends can be noisy. Mosquitoes are bad in summer. We don’t have pets and don’t stay for more than 2 weeks so don’t have a problem with campground restrictions. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Loved this park! Apparently its the best kept secret in Jacksonville as there were only about 30-40 sites being occupied most of the time we were here. We were here for 8 days. GREAT access to the beach. Beaches inside the park have lifeguards, which was so nice. The water fountain park was open while we were here but its geared for children under 52 inches. Campground hosts were very friendly and visible throughout our stay. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. Excellent park for bike riding. MANY trails. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a well-run, clean campground. Sites are fairly level, sand. The roads are narrow, paved. 50-amp electric was good. The park is a tropical jungle, so don't even think of satellite TV. Even local TV from the antenna was iffy. Camp hosts don't interact with campers but office staff is very friendly and helpful. Restrooms are old, but clean and checked frequently. Really nice park. The park has many activities for campers, as well as day-tripers. There are several beach areas and while we were here they were never crowded. There is a nice play area which has a playground, volleyball courts, kayak rentals and a kids waterpark, which is closed this season. There is a fresh water lake which is well stocked. There are miles of bike and hiking trails which appeared to be very popular. As for the campground, the roads are a bit narrow, but the sites are quite nice. Did take a little work to back our 36' TT in the site, but not impossible by any means. Many of the sites are pull-throughs. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and most all appeared fairly level. The camping area has a gate which only allows registered campers and guest entry. A small camp store is on site; just the basics though. The store also sells hamburgers, and such, along with ice cream. The campground hosts were always out working and driving the area. The bathrooms appeared clean. Management is visible and was seen driving the park on several occasions. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was seen numerous times patrolling the park which made you feel very safe. The park staff was very friendly. We can't wait to come back to this park! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our favorite "local" park. City owned and maintained. Spots can be small, at times. No pads, very "nature" oriented. Good security. TV reception can be spotty, due to the extremely large tree canopy's. I would guess 98% of spots have tree coverage. You can walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes, depending on your location in the park. Reservations are required and I would recommend getting them far in advance, as this park fills-up during holidays and the Kingfish Tournament, in the mid-summer. A fine park that has provided my family with many fond memory's. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night in Hannah Park. This was a lovely RV park. We had a nice pull through site. The area is densely treed which makes for a very nice spot. We were unable to use the satellite for this reason but that is ok with me. The trees were wonderful. This park has beach access with a moderate walk. There are nice playgrounds for the kids. The country store left a little to be desired. Not much in there. There is an ice cream store. The bathrooms were ok. The floors were slightly muddy. We would definitely camp here again. This was our first time to stay here. We arrived on Wed. and the park was not crowded, but by Saturday, sites were fairly full. Our site was not level and we had to pull in at an angle where we couldn't use our awning, but that was not a problem. Electrical amperage was good and no problem with water pressure. Dog walking was adequate and for the most part everyone kept their dog on a leash. I would have rated this park higher if they had level sites and Wi-Fi access. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have stayed at this park before and rated it highly. It is a wonderful park, but this time, we made a mistake in going there over President’s day weekend, and it was full of kids. We had a site directly across from the restroom and there was a slope in the pavement that was in constant use by skate boarders. We were usually out sightseeing during the day, but they went on well past the 10PM quiet hour. Wonder where the parents were. We didn’t say anything, but will certainly not get anywhere near the bathroom in future stays. We were in site 196, and probably at least 8 other nearby sites would have been bothered by the noise. This campground was a true delight to stay at. It is located within walking/driving distance of the beach, where we spent a lot of time at. The campground itself is full of gorgeous live oak trees which gave each site a lot of privacy. The roads were nicely paved. The store had basic supplies and ice cream. Laundry facilities were very reasonable-$1.25 to wash and the same to dry a load. The staff was friendly. We fit our 42' fifth wheel in our spot, which was not even a big rig spot. $27 plus tax and bed tax . Two hundred ninety-three sites plus some cabins. All sites come with electricity, water and sewer. This is a county park which is huge. They have a beautiful drive-in where the park itself has picnic areas, disc golf, boating, nature trails, bike trails, and miles of beaches and lakes. The campground itself has a punch in code entrance which is also used for the restrooms. The main road has street signs (small little green signs) with every loop having a letter from A to V. There are restrooms for every three loops, laundry area, camp store, covered hall as well as amphitheater and a lake pavilion. No swimming in the lake only in the ocean – resident alligator. It is a very nice campground and there are sites for big rigs but the roads in the campground are narrow. While we were there a caravan of big rigs came in and were all placed in the K loop. Follow your GPS because it went over bridges that my maps did not even show and we were in the campground before we knew it. When we drove in there is a naval base also and I thought we were coming into the naval base; but no, we were on the right track. Check-in was friendly, quick, and the campground hosts were all nice. They make rounds to check the campsites and there is a resident police officer that lives right near the gate of the campground. All the sites are in the woods mixed with palm trees and most sites are huge. There are some stray cats, raccoons, owls and lots of birds. You would never know that you are near a city like Jacksonville. We were the only campers in our area. May is a good time to camp because spring break is over and there were not many campers. One of the hosts said they don’t get too many snowbirds because they can’t stay for over a month but they do get families on spring break, weekends and in the summer. An interesting campground well worth checking out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Roads are hard to navigate between the trees and narrow road. Loud music played till 12 midnight & people partied til 1 am, when quiet time started at 10pm. water park is only for kids 6 and younger, the beach across from the campground is your pool. We had stayed at this campground just over 2 years before for two nights and decided to go back. The rates had almost doubled. The park has some good pull through sites on the first row but would not be good for long, big rigs. I could not make the turn to get out from site 14 and had to back out and go around the loop with a 30' fifth wheeler. Lots of trees! Lots of mosquitoes this time! I didn't see any of the wild feral cats wandering around like the last time so they must have had a round up. No real campground Internet access however, I think I tapped into the campground store one when they were open. If you like the beach it is a short pedal bike ride away. I'm not sure if I would want to leave my truck parked near the beach parking because it seems very isolated and a potential target for thieves. Would we go back again, only to do some fishing and when the bugs are not bad. Seemed a bit high on the price for a city run campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a bit of paradise close to the city! All the sites are tree covered and beautiful. A few sites have a limited water view of a small fishing lake. The park also includes a mile or so of ocean front access across the street from the campground. There is a lot of day usage of the ocean area, so the security in the campground is pretty tight. The park is owned and run by the city of Jacksonville. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is laid out well and has ready access to the ocean, to a small lake, and to bike trails. The camp store was well stocked and security seemed very good. Tents were mingled with RVs and trailers. Shades trees covered most sites and so even in the heat of day, it was cool. Down side, and reason for less than 10: a) Getting a hold of them was difficult. I called continually for over 5 hours to get a reservation and since it was long distance, that was a pain. b) Roads in the campground are narrow and winding. We have a 26' RV and went into a 40' site. Have no idea how bigger rigs would get in and out. c) Since you are not supposed to bring in your own firewood, we bought ours at the camp store. It was pine and very green. Had trouble getting it lit. Overall it was a great spot and wish we had longer to stay. For proximity to beaches and Jacksonville, it is great, even though it may be a bit high priced considering the condition of roads and sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived in Florida a day ahead of schedule and needed a place to stay for one night. We lucked out and got a site on a Saturday night in March. We absolutely loved this place. Lovely campsites a short bike ride to the ocean beach. The sites are large, roomy, private, and beautiful. Did I mention that it has full hook-ups? Very nice park. A very nice white beach is just a short walk (ten minutes or less) with swimming, fishing and sun bathing. Bike friendly with trails and and paved roads to investigate. Our site was large could have parked 3 extra cars if needed. Most all of the sites were tree covered. No WiFi and unable to use Satellite TV but this is a great place. We will return. We stayed at Hanna Park during the week when mostly long-term seasonal campers were our neighbors. The park and campground are very beautiful and the campsites are fairly private, although close together. Most sites are pull-through. They are dirt/sand sites with a picnic table and fire ring. We loved the natural setting, but the dirt was a bit of a mess when it rained. The beach area is gorgeous with a very gentle slope toward the water. The lake is pretty, and there are a few sites on it, but the side with the playground is on the opposite side from the campground. The beach and lake playground are at least 1/4 mile away, and since my husband took our only vehicle to work every day, it took a little planning to get there and back. Bicycles would have made this easier. The sites closest to the campground entrance are closest to the beach and lake playground. Our children were made to feel welcome, as was our dog. Disposal bag dispensers for pet wastes were located throughout the park. Our dog was allowed on the beach. The camp store prices were reasonable but it is a small store with limited item selection. Their hours were limited and somewhat sporadic during our stay. We were still grateful it was open at all, since it saved us a trip out several times. Bike rentals were $5 an hour. The office personnel were efficient and friendly except for one occasion when I had to call and request the new bathhouse code. They made a point of insisting that they had informed us about the change, when in fact they had not. No big deal, but the lady came across as being defensive when I was not being accusatory. Like I said, no big deal. The host campers were very friendly and helpful, especially to our kids. One host couple gave our daughter a big bag of peanut brittle, just made by some of the ladies in the kitchen of the little activities building on site. The only reason I did not give Hanna a 10 rating is the age of the facilities. The bathhouses are obviously old, but for our family that really wasn't a problem since everything worked. They were kept reasonably clean, and any dirt involved was just that -- dirt and sand tracked in on the floors. During our stay they were cleaned and restocked daily. We had one complaint, though. It was getting down in the 40s at night, but the bathhouses weren't heated. That made for a chilly early-morning shower for my husband, who was working during this trip. We used the laundry facility once and although they could probably use a few more washers and dryers, we had no problem getting our laundry done. All things considered we were very pleased with Hanna Park and would definitely go back, especially during the off-season when it isn't crowded. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a beautiful location, among old Florida vegatation and within walking distance of the ocean. There are some 50 amp sites but most are 30 amp sites. The rate was the discounted winter rate. However, the campground was in much worse condition than past visits. Some of the problems included dirty restrooms and sites, restrooms and sites that needed repairs, poor interior road conditions (pot holes and large drop offs along road sides), poor and unsafe electric outlets (our neighbors arced and burnt up their plug) fewer host campers available to help, new management rules that made no logical sense,and some unfriendly/indifferent office staff. The rates were raised a couple of years ago but the funds certainly did not go to campground upkeep. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park with heavily wooded sites, bike and hiking trails and a beach within walking distance. Most of the sites are easy to access. We bring our truck camper here because the large number of tress make navigating a large RV difficult. That said, I see larger motorhomes and fifth wheels there. We have camped here 4 times in the last 2 years and have enjoyed it every time. I have noticed some rowdy tent campers on weekends, but for the most part the camp is quiet. We have been campers at Hanna for almost 20 years and the old gal is beginning to show her age. The staff was very young and must be city employee's who cared very little to the paying customers. We arrived on Wed and the dumpsters were full and the camp ground empty. By Sat the campground was full and so still were the dumpsters. Staff was more concerned with over sized children in the playground than open beverage violations in plan view. If this park was anyplace but along the beach it would be out of business in no time. Since we love the beach and it's close we will send e-mail to the city managers and return again next year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here after camping in an expensive RV park in the Keys, and this was just as nice, if not nicer. The site was very large, plenty of space to park our pick-up truck, open our slide, and enjoy the picnic table. We found the park very clean, friendly, good laundry facilities, and quiet. The beach was huge and almost empty, and we took our dogs on leashes, and had a wonderful time. Overall, we would rate this campground a 9.5 out of 10, the only thing it needed was a better camp store, We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This 450 acre park is owned and operated by the city of Jacksonville and is absolutely beautiful. Our site was a ways from our neighbors and very wooded. There are 14 miles of trails (biking and hiking) and we spent lots of time hiking and walking on the beach (4 miles of pristine beach). The staff was very friendly and even had a $2.00 pancake breakfast on Monday morning and always had free coffee and newspapers. They go the extra mile. Our site was a little uneven, but not a problem. There was no cable TV, but we don’t watch it much anyway. No WiFi. The one slight negative we had was the Naval aircraft carrier base about 5 miles away always had up a helicopter or two (I guess looking for terrorists.) and even at about 2,000 feet up they made some noise. Nothing that was a bother though. Showers and bathrooms were modern and clean. They have many located through out the park. We will definitely make a return trip. I recommend approaching the park from A1A South or North to avoid the big traffic through Jacksonville. From the North you can take a neat ferry ride for $3.00 across the intercostals waterway. There is a great fish house called Safe Harbor Fish company that buys all the local commercial catch and also has a small restaurant on the side. Very good and fairly cheap. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is very nice, clean, and staff was helpful. Other reviews said there was a lot of stray cats. We did not have a problem with cats, it was Racoons! I do think they need to do something to control the amount of racoons because they are so tame, they just walk right up to you. We had to make sure everything was put up even if we just walked to the restroom. The lake was great, you can rent paddle boats, lots of playgrounds for the kids. There is hiking trails and biking trails. The access to the beach is biking distance from the campground, we found lots of shells. We will definitely visit Hannah Park again. We camped here this June and last year in September. Great sites, very dog friendly, dogs are allowed on the beach and the campground has clean-up bags in containers at each rest room and at the beach to use. Very handy. It is a walk to the beach so we drove across the road, lots of parking. Site 293 is the best in the park but also site 46 and on that row is very roomy with trees for privacy. We had 290, not that great and 152 not that great either. Good seafood restaurant and seafood market in Mayport. They have cleaned the park up since September. There were lots of cats, raccoons and armadillos all over but this year we didn't see any. No alcohol allowed in the park or beaches but we did see evidence of it. We like this park a lot. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had heard wonderful things about this campground, and it certainly could be just that wonderful, but it isn't. The park is beautiful; the ocean is wonderful; the sites are nicely situated. But, the mosquitoes, in January no less, rival those we remember from Wisconsin! Worse than the mosquitoes are the feral cats. There are at least 10 that we saw, and they hang around outside your rig every night and whine to be fed and let in. We're told that some of them have been neutered, but there are far too many, leading me to believe that some are reproducing. We tow a white convertible and every morning we'd wake up to dirty paw prints all over the car, the windshield, and the roof. This is an active adult park in the winter, with an active seasonal community and I can understand why some folks return year after year to spend time with friends. But as a campground for those who are travelling, this one is nothing special. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great city park! We camped next to the lake. The rules say stays are limited to 14 days but we noticed a sign saying at the discretion of park management you might be allowed to stay longer during winter months. It was obvious many people had been there since the Christmas holidays. The staff was friendly and we saw three sites marked for campground "hosts". Coffee hour, activities and free dial up service for internet connection is available at the recreation hall. Nice clean laundry area. Beach access is across the road from the camping area (not within walking distance) you need to bike or drive. Lots of good hiking and biking trails. Many pets and children but quiet hours were observed. Big trees and lots of shade, do not expect your satellite TV to work. Camp store had assortment of necessities along with ice cream and small restaurant. Entrance to park and some turns in campground are very narrow. Go slowly and carefully and most big rigs will be fine (would not recommend for big bus conversions). We would definitely go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

First time here, we loved this park. Beach is about 1/2 mile away, but within the park itself. We road all the off road biking trails as well as paved road all over the place. We had an end site that was near the lake, and you can launch your canoe/kayak from many places in the park. You can rent peddle boats there also. Kids have a play area. We stayed at the park for a few days in January. We, 2 kids & 2 adults, liked the park so well we came back (from Ohio) during spring break and stayed 10 nights. Every site we saw was shaded. The campground is inside a city park that requires day users to pay a fee (campers pass thru for free) and then there is another gate to go thru to get into the campground. We saw lots of kids but didn't hear lots of noise. Many trails for bikes and bikers of all ability. Several playgrounds for the kids. We will be back. We recommend this campground to everyone. As a plus, THEY DO TAKE RESERVATIONS. Nice place and nicer staff. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

City park. Really nice natural setting. Pull thru but lots of trees. Couldn't find clearing for sat. dish. Sites handled 40' 5th however access roads were VERY difficult. Turns too tight with adjacent trees making it impossible to "straighten" out the turns much. Low hanging branches and branches close to roads will brush your RV. Ocean beach not really accessible to campground for those with walking difficulties. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

When we stayed here there were not a lot of campers here. The sites are fairly isolated as you have a lot of vegetation and trees between sites. You have to check in at the main park entrance then get a code to punch in the gate to get into the campground. This is a good idea since the campground is just off of a heavily traveled highway. The campground is on the south side of the island with very pretty views. It is an easy walk across the highway to get to the beaches. There is an access point at the campground where you could put in a kayak/canoe to paddle through the marshes. There is a short trail next to the campground and a longer one (4 miles) across the street. Lots of signs posted for no pets on the beaches. The restrooms and showers were cleaned daily and there was lots of hot water. We received 15 channels on the TV and Verizon cell service had 3 bars. Park rangers and camp hosts drove through fairly regularly. We would definitely like to return here.

The road into the sites needs to be filled or plowed due to the deep potholes. There are many low hanging trees to watch out for. The staff is knowledgeable but was not particularly helpful. We stayed here two nights. They have a small boat launch for the canoe and the park has some sites you can be on the water. The roads do have the live oaks that drape over the roads. We have some problems with making the some turns without scraping the side of the RV. Had to hold the branches while the turn was made and had to trim some branches to keep the rubber roof from getting gouged. We let the staff know what we had to do. The campground was quiet. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

It is a very nice clean campground. The ranger station sells firewood for a very reasonable $6 per bundle (cash only). The location makes it a great place to see the sights such as the historical Kinglsey Plantation and Ribault Club. The ferry to Mayport is also fun. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a nice, family friendly campground. Across the highway from the campground is the main part of the park right on the ocean, about 5 miles of private beach reserved just for park goers and campers. On the campground side of the road/park are salt marshes and a fishing dock. Less than 5 miles south of the park is the Mayport Ferry landing that takes you across the St.Johns River to enjoy numerous great restaurants! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed in this park one night while transiting north. It was a very pleasant stopover, although not very convenient to I-95/9A corridor. Sites are very wooded and generally large/private. Our site was quite out of level and we needed to work hard to get close enough to be comfortable. This appeared to be about average for the sites we observed. The scenery and amenities in the campground area were not particularly good, but the beach (a short bike ride away), was quite lovely and made the visit very memorable. Although the campground was full on the night we stayed, it was very quiet and peaceful and the overall park (cg & beach) felt very spacious. We likely would stay again: for at least 2 nights, in order to better enjoy the beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our 3rd stop on our Florida trip. We definitely do not recommend this for anyone with a Class A motor home! Even though we had a 30 footer, the height is the issue. Very narrow winding roads and low hanging branches were a problem. Not full service but had a dump station. Two reasons I ranked this an "8" and not a "3" is the restrooms and showers were immaculate, and the bike paths down to the beach were a definite "10". The no see-ums were brutal and left you looking like you had the measles: no lie. But as I said, the biking and beaches were a slice of heaven. I will not visit with my RV again though because of the access. This would be nice for tenting and popups only in my opinion. Not a bad place for the right purpose. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Another wonderful Florida State Park. I'll just review the camping here but the park has wonderful nature on both the beach side and the marsh side. Do NOT bring your big RV's to camp here due to very narrow roads with low hanging branches. We have a 22' Roadtrek with no problems, but anything bigger would not be able to turn corners. We were in site #40, as usual finding a level spot took several tries but it was fine at the end. Note about site #40, it's only 20 amp. Whoops, guess I didn't read ReserveAmerica carefully enough. Luckily we were able to use the microwave without problem but heavy electric users beware. I should have suspected something because it was the only site available for Thanksgiving Saturday night when I reserved the day before. Glad I did anyway or we would have missed a great park. The RV sites next to the river look really nice, guess you need to be very early to get those. We saw a small RV about our size parked NEXT to their site, guess it was more level on the large area next to the site than IN the site. The bath-house is adequate, not new but not too grungy. We declined using the shower because it was cold that night and we were headed home the next day. Site 40 is the farthest site away from the showers/toilet, but not horribly far. The campground has good security in that every time you enter you have to enter a gate with keypad. It's located on the west side of A1A and the main park is on the east side with Ranger entry station. Take the time to explore Little and Big Talbot Islands parks. Lots to see. Great wildlife and many people fishing and crabbing (and catching blue crabs). We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were in site #19. Site was shady and wide as not many of them are. Site had picnic table, fire ring/grill, water and 20 amp service. Road in is very narrow with lots of overhanging trees which is why we tent camped and did not bring our RV. We did see at least 5 larger RV's (over 30 ft) but ReserveAmerica says 30 ft limit. I would not go above a popup sized RV here though. Some sites flood with the rising tide during storms so check with rangers before camping. Campground had a playground in it and a group fire circle. There is a hiking trail in campground we did not walk that one. Campground is on one side of road and park is on the other. We hiked the 3.4 mile nature trail on the beachside. Start from ranger station as it is hard to spot on the beach side. Rangers were friendly and they sell firewood at station for $6 bundle. Nice beach but too cold to use when we were here. Most sites had a lot of foliage between campers. Bathhouses were very clean though not heated or air conditioner in them. Just screens above walls for ventilation. Lots to do in the area: we visited two national parks and several state parks nearby. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a nice State Park; however there are some downsides. Some of the sites are very shallow and/or the water and electric are on opposite sides of the site. The road is narrow and one would think it was one-way, but it is not. We were lucky to have picked one of the better configured sites (#25) and had very little problem backing in our 19ft trailer. But big rigs would have a difficult time maneuvering into many of the sites here if they were lucky enough to find one they could fit into at all. Also, the no alcohol and quiet hours are not enforced. We were kept awake two nights in a row by a group of young men tent camping until 4:00am the first night and 2:00am the next night. When they were setting up they were visibly drinking beer and had their cartons of beer visible on the picnic table. A ranger came by and stopped at their site for an unknown reason, but apparently not to tell them about the no alcohol policy as there were no changes after the ranger left. On the upside, the beach is right across the street with nice facilities (outside showers for rinsing sand off, changing rooms, restrooms and picnic pavilions). There is also a nice paved bicycle path and a couple of nice hiking trails. The restrooms at the campground were well maintained. The rangers were nice and helpful; just wished they enforced the rules. We will not return here. There are nicer and quieter state parks we can patronize. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Little Talbot Island State Park is north of Jacksonville and is another great Florida State Park. It only has about 36 sites and if you a RV over 25 feet I would think twice about staying there. There is basically one road into the campground and it is narrow and on rocky sand. There is not enough room for two RV to pass. The road is curvy and there are some sites that an RV would not be able to back in. Most of the sites are shady and there seem to be a lot of tenters here. We had site 35 which was out by the creek and did not have much shade but there was plenty of room for an RV to back in and move around since it is a wide open space for those bringing boats to the boat dock. If you had a kayak or canoe these would be good sites. Looking over the sites 17,18,19,25 and 38 are good shady sites than an RV could fit in but again I would not take anything over 25 feet. It is a pretty park on it’s own island which is part of the Talbot Islands State Parks system which includes Little Talbot Island, Amelia Island, George Crady Bridge State Fishing Pier, Big Talbot Island, Fort George Island, Yellow Bluff Fort and Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve.. There are five miles of beaches which are a bike ride away from the campground – beautiful. One can fish, canoe, kayak, surf, swim, bike, horseback riding, tour on a Segway tour and hike here. It is also a great place for observing all types of birds coming and going during the seasons. It is beautiful here and very peaceful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We did not camp here we only stopped at this camp ground to see if it would accommodate our rig (36' FW). Per the Park staff, your rig must be 30 foot or less. The camp ground is part of a Florida State Park that consists of a beach and river. The camp ground is located adjacent to the river and separated from the beach by State Hwy 9A. The Park and Beach are beautiful. This is a great park for kayaking. Camp sites have power and water. All but 3 or 4 are cut into stands of trees. A very narrow dirt road weaves thru the camp ground. Large rigs with a high profile will have difficulty navigating this road. Vegetation between sites provides an excellent privacy screen. Sites are dirt and could get muddy following a rain storm. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good park for overnight stay or longer to see Jacksonville sites. All interior roads are paved and sites. Almost all the sites are pull-through. Easy to get around the park and sites even for the largest rig pulling a vehicle or trailer. Utilities are well located at each site. Little shade on any sites. Free WiFi was excellent. Some interstate noise and air traffic from nearby airport, but it didn't bother us. Check in was quick, but we were returning customers. Office personnel need a personality adjustment. First time here. Close to I-95 heading north or south. Many of the sites will need some new paving in the future. Sites are big enough that you can pull in with out having to unhook your tow vehicle. Overpriced. Asphalt interior roads. Wide sites on large concrete pads that are mounded making the sites unlevel. Good lighting at night. Concrete tables at each site. Campfires are not allowed. No real dog restrictions as some vicous dogs were tied outside. Many utility trailers (being lived in) scattered throughout the park with several families in each. The park does not allow tent camping but allows guests to stay in personal cars, box vans and stock trailers and most seem to be long term. We did not see any park models. This is a good campground for big rigs because the sites are all pull-through. There is good water pressure and quality. We encountered no issues with power. It is a well-maintained park and we would stay there again when in the area. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty and the office staff didn't seem to have a good handle on how to address that issue. The lake/pond was full of fish (we could see them), but it is so full of vegetation that it is difficult to fish. I tried to take my young daughters but it was a fruitless effort. We have been at Pecan Park for 8 days. All of the sites are concrete, with a round concrete picnic table as well. There are trees around the edge of the park, and strips of grass and evergreen scrubs in between each site. Our site is level and close to the front entrance of the park. There are plenty of places on site to walk our long-haired Dachshund. As others have mention in their reviews, this park is very close to Jacksonville Airport. So yes, there are planes landing every day intermittently, but not every 5 minutes, so the noise does not bother us. The Laundry area is clean, but to use it you must either purchase a “laundry card” for $4, or you can rent one for 5 dollars, works much like a pre-paid credit card. Price for washing and or drying is $2 a load. Trash is picked up every day at your site and must be curb side by 10:00am. There is a dumpster by the Laundry. Cable TV stations came in great; I did not have a need to use their Wi-Fi, because I have my own set-up. The park is close to I-95 and within 3- 5 miles you have Wal-Mart, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Ross’s. There is only one complaint I have, and it’s about the front office staff. Out of the ones I have dealt with in the office, only the blond-headed lady had any sense at all of customer service, and was friendly. I don’t mind waiting while other customers are helped. A question about services that are available, or directions, seemed to be a big imposition, to the other front desk people. The Flea Market was okay, it is also run by the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Reserved a site for 4 nights in advance at Pecan Park, but decided to leave after only one day as this RV park was so bad. Chose this park as I needed to use WI-FI internet as advertised. First evening the internet worked. Next morning (Saturday) it did not work. I finally checked with the woman at the registration desk, and she claimed she had been trying to "reset" the internet all day but didn't know when it would be fixed. I considered this a failure to deliver a contracted service with no plan to fix the problem. Other issues that made us walk on our prepaid reservation were: 1) site was full of biting ants and no seeums, and therefore, we could not sit outside; 2) the constant noise of the jets landing or taking off from the Jacksonville Airport just one mile away; and 3) the poor attitude of the staff toward customer service. We stayed one week and found the park to be great. The sites were easy in and out, large and level. The facilities were first class and clean and well maintained. The park is close to shopping and easy access to Jacksonville and the area beaches. The rate we paid was Coast to Coast rate. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband and I have used this park as a stopping point once we get into Florida for the past five years or so. We stayed 2 nights this time and the price reflects the average of the two nights...one with PA and one is the regular price. This campground is very clean. Paved streets and paved sites with a concrete patio, some grass, and a concrete table. There is a nice building that has a few pieces of exercise equipment, a TV, pool table and a kitchen. We did not use the pool or the bathrooms. There is some noise from the airplanes but it is not during sleeping hours so it is doable. The staff at the office was super friendly. This park has nice flat paved sites for RV's with plenty of room for a toad. There is a picnic bench also on the site. The hook-ups are convenient and everything works well. This is a large park with the RV's lined up in rows, without a lot of landscaping. There is adequate space between the rigs. The only big negative is the noise from the planes landing and taking off from the nearby airport. We use this park as a place to stay when we make periodic visits to the Mayo Clinic. it takes about 30-40 minutes to reach the Clinic from the park. The rate reflects the Mayo Clinic rate. We also got a Passport America rate for a couple of nights for $24/night. If we had come in October, we could have had the Passport rate for a longer period of time. We stay here while in this area mostly because of easy access to I-95 and because they have paved pads. They also have nice size pull-through sites. No issues with electrical or sewer. It's an easy access to the old 9-A to the beach. The only concern is that it is so close to the interstate and is in a somewhat remote location otherwise, we did see a homeless man sleeping near the bathrooms. Just be aware if you use those facilities. There are some full time residents there, but for the most part, the park is very well kept. It's also next door to a flea market, which is open on the weekends. We visited once but not our taste. We used to stay near St. Augustine, but that park had sand lots and tons of vegetation. Also, it had snakes, etc. We will continue to use Pecan Park when in JAX. We camped here in a Motorhome.

On our way to Daytona for The Ralley in late October, we stopped here for an overnight. This is a new park with all the best and newest facilities. Everything shined. Even the permanent campers and the winter campers had exceptionally neat sites. There was plenty of space to walk and on weekends the next-door gigantic flea market provides entertainment. "Lipstick on a pig" is an accurate description for this park. At first it seems like a nice park but beware if you stay longer than a day. Was staying here (unfortunately) several months. Wi-Fi comes and goes with the constant windiness of the place. Concrete pads, but little shade. Most of the landscape is crab grass with dying bushes. The landscapers are extremely careless when cutting the grass. I had one mow over a mound of rocks which hit the side of my coach (management could care less). The office staff is a little odd, too, especially the man who manages the place. Goose droppings cover all the sites nearest the pond. The overnight sites overlook a shabby flea market area and the I-95. Laundry is expensive, $2 to wash and $2 to dry. The pool is rarely cleaned (beware: lots of babies going in and out of this pool). Back of the park is populated by some of the seediest people and RV's I've ever seen in a "RV Resort." A previous reviewer had it right calling the place "The Bates Motel" and another reviewer accurately noted the constant surveillance by some of the more permanent residents. The weekend hi-haw flea market, proximity to I-95 and airport traffic above makes for a noisy stay. Like stated previously, ok place if you're in/out in a day. But rather expensive without Passport America. This park would be light years better with a better management team. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were very disappointed in the extensive charges for things that don't work. Rather than having optional extra charges they told me I had to pay $14 PER DAY in addition to my Coast-to-Coast fee for accommodations whether I use them or not. Then to rub it in the Wi-Fi didn't work unless I took my computer to the building outside the laundry room and the elliptical machine in the exercise room didn't work. So I have to pay for stuff that doesn't work. The people in the office didn't believe me (or didn't care) and were snotty about it. This is the third time we've stayed at Pecan Park in the last year and a half. This time, I was disappointed to a certain extent. At check in, it was apparent that our reservation, made on PP's website was lost. OK, no problem here is your site. Went to the site and there was a permanent resident's truck parked there. Additionally, the permanent residents travel trailer looked like it was from 1966 and was filthy. So we drove back to the front and got another site. Pulled in, started hooking up and all of a sudden, permanent residents started checking us out because we were in the back where they mostly are. I felt under a microscope the entire time we stayed here. The permanents "patrol" the grounds for lack of a better word. Some of the trailers here are in pretty bad shape and for a "resort", you'd be surprised. The Wi-Fi was very poor. We had to wait until after 10pm to get anything other than a dead slow connection. The back of the park is far away from the pool, so don't expect to walk to it. All in all, I had rated PP very high before. Not this time. My wife and I have decided not to return and we come to Jacksonville often to see the grandchild. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have a 33’ fifth wheel and try to provide quick, objective reviews of campgrounds. We stayed at Pecan RV Resort for several days in January on our way to more southern points in Florida. The lots are pull-through, concrete, level, and spacious, and all are uniform in size with full hookups including cable. The park is well cared for and clean. If you want to wash your RV, you can. They request $10 to cover water costs; seemed fair to us. There isn’t a separate dog walk per se, but we walked our dog along the 2 miles of paved roads. On the grassy edges along the perimeter of the park there are several dog dump/ bag stations. The park has a small catch/release pond. The swimming pool looked clean but don’t think it is heated as no one used it while we were there. We didn’t try the exercise room. The staff was very nice and efficient. Wi-Fi performance was inconsistent. The park is very close to the JAX airport so commercial and military planes fly very low above the park. The planes are very noisy, but we didn’t find it too annoying since we were there for a short stay. We used our Passport America rate, amazing considering it’s prime season. We wouldn’t consider it a “resort”, but we highly recommend for a short transitional stay upon entering Florida. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There are no shaded sites. Ample green space between the sites made you feel like you were not on top of your neighbor. Verizon wireless had 2 to 3 bars with best reception outside the coach. Free Wi-Fi signal was very good at our site. Trash picked up daily at the curb of each site. Office staff were very friendly and helpful. Park is located within 30 minutes of downtown and UF Shands hospital, and Jags stadium. If you want a quiet, rural setting this park is not for you. Because of the park's location next to I-95, international airport, naval air station, and railroad somewhat nearby, it can be a noisy place. Also on weekends a huge flea market is rocking next door. We liked the activity, so the noise didn't bother us. Sites on 200 through 500 probably have a little less interior traffic. Our rate reflects Passport America discount. Extra long, paved sites with plenty of space between neighbors. No shade trees, however, this makes it an incredibly easy park to navigate without worrying your RV will be swiped. Airport and fighter jet traffic can be noisy, but happens sporadically. The staff maintain a very clean park. The pool is clean, the laundry facilities are adequate, the bathhouse is clean and spacious and there is a lovely, large, new recreation room. Office staff is very friendly and helpful with the exception of one young lady who is in need of a personality adjustment. However, she is usually hiding behind the pamphlets on the counter so you'll not have to deal with her too often. The park is adjacent to a weekend flea market (rather noisy at times), the I-95 is nearby as well as an assortment of stores and restaurants one exit away. What a lovely park! Newer with paved roads, VERY clean with lots of space. They DO have some permanent RVers, so they've made themselves at home with a lot of outdoor "stuff", decks, toys, etc, but it really is a lovely, clean, nice park and we would definitely stay there for an overnight or an extended stay. We stayed here while seeing doctors at Mayo Clinic. A bit of a drive but no traffic and easy access to the freeway. The sites are concrete with large grassy area. The restrooms and laundry were clean. Washer was $1.50 and dryer was $1.50. We didn't use the pool but plenty of people were in it all day. The airplanes starting at 6 am so don't plan to sleep in. One horrible cat that would not leave us alone: to the point we could not eat outside or keep our dog outside with us. We would stay here again if in the area since there is not much to choose from. My husband and I stopped to camp here, and it was not nearly as nice as our last stay back at the beginning of March. The staff had changed drastically, and the girl at the front desk seemed to be more interested in lunch than checking in customers. I had gone to the restroom, and it appeared as if someone had not mopped the floor in months, not to mention the pool was down, and it almost seemed we had stopped in at an alligator farm as opposed to an "RV Resort". The price had gone up quite a bit since we had last stayed from $35 a night to $47. My husband and I decided not to stay. Instead we made the drive to another park. Pecan Park RV seems to have turned in to the “Bates Motel”, which is too bad because the lots were very spacious and convenient to the interstate. I only recommend staying here in the winter when the heat of the sun warms your camper, and you will not be using the pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The rate reflects our PPA discount. This is a 5 star resort with only one little flaw. There are no shade trees in the resort, but, as another reviewer said, that's what awnings are for. The staff is super helpful and friendly, the sites are all double wide concrete, 70ft deep, pull through, with concrete patio furniture and a nice grass buffer between sites. There are a number of long term residents but they are just as friendly as the staff. There are lots of things to do nearby, including the flea market on Sat & Sun, with live music and BBQ in the evening but not late. JAX I.A. is down the road a way and the Resort, depending on the wind, can be in the departure/arrival path. The noise is NOT an issue, especially if you have air-con going. You can get more noise from the USN Fighters as they exercise their wings overhead. The Resort is top quality, very clean, everything works, electrical was steady, city water and sewer at each site as is cable TV. This is off season and we nearly had the section to ourselves for the week we were here. This is a definite return if you can resort. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the second time we've stayed at Pecan Park and it was just as good as our first. I've left a big review for Pecan Park the first time, but in a nutshell, and not to repeat myself, the only drawbacks are the jet noise (I personally didn't mind it, you are in the flight path for JIA) and the flea market next door. It's only on the weekend and then they close early. NO shade, but the best attributes are the friendliness of the staff, the clean and crystal clear pool, the size of the sites, the level sites, and good WiFi and cable TV. We will definitely return when we visit our relatives in Jacksonville. I will take this over NAS Jax anyday and I am military. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed one night in this park and were pleasantly surprised. We did have to use our AC unit because of the heat so keep this in mind when I talk about the noise in the area. The RV park is close to the airport and planes may depart over the park. It is far enough away so that the planes have gained enough altitude for this not to be a problem during our stay. There is a Flea Market adjacent to the park that has an outdoor "Beer Pond" which featured a live band during our Saturday stay. It closes with the Flea market(only open on Saturday and Sunday) so it was not a problem for a good night's sleep. The RV Park is also close to I-95, but we could only hear traffic noise when outside the coach, and it was not a problem. Each parking site is on a large concrete slab that is level and separated from your neighbor with a generous grass area. The longest sites are 70' which should work for most rigs. The electric was stable, plenty of water pressure, and the sewer dump is convenient for most rigs. They also have a dump station alto the water hose for cleaning was broken when we stayed there. The free Wi-Fi worked very well, so I guess that not too many guests were downloading huge movie files. The free cable also worked very well. This park offers various discounts which is reflected in my rate. The park is kept very neat and it is well lighted at night. We would not hesitate to stay at this park again when our travels brings us to Jacksonville. We camped here in a Motorhome.

OK, first about Pecan Park is if you do not like jet noise, stay away. If you are like me and love aircraft, you'll be in hog heaven. Second, if you like shade, stay away. If you are like me, and enjoy Florida for the sun, you'll be in hog heaven. If you mind a flea market next door, stay away. If not, you'll be in hog heaven. OK, Pecan is right in line with JIA, it is close to I- 95 but the noise is not that bad as some make it out to be, I was in the first row and it didn't bother us at all. There are too few trees, but that's what awnings are for. On the plus side, the pool was the most crystal clear water I've ever seen in a public pool and it was great, even in April. The park is huge, no doubt, but stop in the office on your way out or in! They are open 7 days a week and the staff is friendly. No carrying your garbage to a dumpster. Have it out by 10am and they will pick it up. We will definitely return, it's pricey, but we love it. Again, cons: jet noise, no shade and flea market. Pros: BIG sites, wide, grassy areas, good electricity, cable, sewer and water. Some of the long term residents are in the back, but during our walks, they were very friendly. I lived in Jax for over 20 years and always wanted to stay here, now I have moved and love it! We will definitely be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived at this park on a Wednesday night and by Thursday morning were searching for an alternative. This park is very noisy due to its immediate proximity to I-95 (and I-295) and the JAX airport. Pluses are large pull-through sites with concrete pads, and well-groomed lawns. Facilities are very average: small pool, club house, and restrooms/showers/laundry near the office/entrance. Negatives are noise, plus the fact that there are no amenities, trash cans or bathrooms at any other location in the park (other than near entrance). There is also quite a bit of dog waste near the river side of the park. There are dog rules admonishing people to pick up after their pets, but many don't. There are not many options for other parks in the area, but we're going to look. OK for a couple of nights but this wouldn't be our first choice next time around. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We pulled in here for a few days on our trek to Disney World. The weather was kind of iffy so stayed here until it cleared up. The park advertises and tells you on the phone that they can take big rigs with no problem. We are 42' and pulling a toad and we barely fit into the space end to end. As another poster noted, the park is located almost in line with the Jacksonville Intl runway 7/25 approach/departure path and it sometimes sounds as though the planes are going to pass through your living room. The park apparently does not enforce any of its rules. Some of the "residents" drive through the narrow roads in their toads like it was the Indianapolis Speedway: unbelievable, the worst ones are the oldsters. I guess they feel as though they should hurry up before they croak. The other issue was the barking dogs. They absolutely do not enforce their "dog rules." Owners allow their dogs to bark whenever and as long as they please and since the park made no effort to enforce any of their rules I can only assume it's this way all the time. Very annoying. Overall, the park is good for a day or two but definitely not an extended stay park. This is a Passport America park and $21 is about right. I would be quite upset to pay $42/night for a stay at this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on our way to southern FL and then again on the return trip home. The sites are level concrete pull-throughs. We were pulling a trailer and had an additional vehicle which were accommodated on our site. The previous postings about air traffic are correct, but we were not bothered by the noise. The flea market across the fence was a great place to walk the dogs. The bar mentioned in a prior post is only open on weekends. We checked it out on a Friday and found the owners and the customers friendly and it made for great people watching. We used to stay in Walterboro,SC at the New Green Acres campground; but this additional 2 hr drive (southbound) is definitely worth it. There is delivery from the Sun Sun chinese restaurant to your site (menus available in office) and we utilized them on both trips. We will definitely stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy on and off I-95 on the north side of Jacksonville. A very large park with sites suitable for large rigs. We were placed near the front where most short-term and better-looking rigs were. (There were some RVs in very poor condition near the rear of the property.) The site was paved and level. Staff was pleasant and efficient. We had our propane refilled there and did a load of laundry. One long term resident complained the the 4 washers and 4 dryers were not sufficient for a park of that size, and I'd agree. Bathrooms were clean and in good shape. We did notice the jet aircraft noise overhead until about 10 pm and starting again at 8 am. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

All sites are pull thru sites - paved and level with a nice patio area. Sites are fairly large for this type of overnight park. Great park for a quick overnight stop - no need to unhook the trailer from your tow vehicle. All of the amenities are at the front of the park, it could be quite a walk from the back of the park to go swimming, do laundry or take a shower. Fortunately, the back area seems to be for seasonal guests and they keep a good number of sites near the front of the park open for overnight quests. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice park located on the NW section of Jacksonville off of I-95. Although close proximity to the interstate there was very little noise from the freeway. However it is located near the Airport, and there are a number of Military and civilian aircraft that land and takeoff. This can be somewhat loud at different times of the day and night but a real treat if you are an aircraft enthsiast. The campground is well maintained with nice wide paved lots. I would highly recommend this campground and will come back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For those who like close to level concrete and wide spots and no trees this is the place for you. That gets a 10. The reason we gave it a 6 is the fact of the location. The other reviews that state the airplane traffic did not bother them are being very kind. I had talked to about 5 others who had been here for just a couple nights and some that where here for a few weeks. They all had said they really did not like the runway of the international airport right over their heads. A couple said it hurt their dogs ears, especially the military jets that fly over. The people who live in the park are all very nice. Because of the airplanes we think this place is over priced and the owner had just raised their rates $50 more for monthly. Another plus is it has alot of empty spaces. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park has all the potential of a great 10.. I reviewed down because of the bathrooms, laundry and pool being only marginally clean. But the owners or managers told me they were improving these three items and I will believe them, so would definitely stay here again. The park is easy off the freeway. The spaces had plenty room and basically it is a great spot. The flea mart next door was not doing that well, so not worth the walk over or perhaps it was the time we were there. The people in the office were very nice. Yes, planes over head, but didn't bother us that much. The little lake was nice and the club house was nice and a beautiful pool. I stayed here for four nights while visiting friends. It was convenient and clean. As others have said all of the sites are fairly large, concrete and pull through. I had no problems with the leveling at my site and did not see any sites that were obviously not level. Several people have mentioned the closeness of the airport but I can honestly say that I was not bothered at all by the noise. The flea market next door was entertaining and fun for a few hours. There are not a lot of amenities other then the pool but for me, the main drawback of the park is that there are no trees or shade whatsoever. This was not a problem because the night time temps got down to the high 50's and the days were not oppressively hot. In mid summer this park has to be unbearable. To me it seemed that there were people from all over the country staying there and everyone, including management, were friendly. The park seemed very safe and I had no problems walking around in the evening. The bath area was OK. Clean, but not immaculate. The park is very convenient to the airport and is close to Yulee, Amelia and Fernandina. Overall it was comfortable for me and I would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park. We loved it here. The park is literally 1/4 mile from the I-95 ramp. The roads are paved and all the sites are large, level concrete pull throughs with a concrete patio set. This campground has a nice layout, paved roads and big rig friendly concrete pull-through sites. The sites have full hookups and cable TV. The Manager is very nice, and friendly. What upset us was that our concrete site was 3 to 4" from being level, side to side and front to back. Also the Ad in our RV Campground Directory for Pelican Park RV Resort stated Wi-Fi available. Of course, I assumed that was free Wi-Fi. I assumed wrong, you payed a $5 fee for 24 hours of Wi-Fi service. When we pay $41 to stay at a RV Resort, I think all sites should be level and the Wi-Fi should be free. The Ad for this Resort with big Wi-Fi lettering included in their Ad, was some what misleading. This is $15 at best. It's a crime to call this a RV resort. Hardly any amenities, actually only one. A pool. We met friends for Memorial day weekend. This is good for a last chance, overnight stay if you get up early. You have no choice, but to get up early. 7am Saturday morning and the planes took off, one after another for over a hour, then every 15-20minutes. Monday morning the flights started at 6am. The grass and fences are not maintained very well (lots of fire ants)and the park is located next to a Flea Market. Lots of airplane noise since the park is located in the flight path of the Jacksonville International Airport. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Yes, it's a large park with a lot of concrete. At least you aren't scraping trees and dealing with leaves everywhere. They allowed my 4 retired racing greyhounds, when the other highly rated park only wanted walking house slippers, not real pets. We always pickup the stray dog waste that we come across (stray waste is most likely from the house slippers whose owners don't think they need to pick up their dog's waste). Cable TV works well and Wi-Fi is good. The commercial airport noise is acceptable. However we were greeted by a flight of 4 Navy F-15s taking off from the Naval Air Station while hooking up. Loud can't even describe it. They made 4 passes or touch & goes at the NAS. I know that military aircraft are a lot more noisy than commercial aircraft, but there is a reason for it. I saluted the flight and said, "Thanks for protecting us." We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice big concrete pads to park all vehicles on. Not much shade, but that to us means, no leaves, no sap from the trees. Great park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for a couple weeks while on a project and found the park to be very nice, level lots near shopping. The only bad thing is too close to the airport you here planes taking off all the time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was very, very large very much like a drive-in motel for campers. There were no trees and it was simply a vast open/concrete park. It worked well for one over-night stay with no adventure to anticipate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great I95/295/airport location. Prices have just increased and so has the fast traffic on interior roads due to yearly residents in the park--would look at the competitor Flamingo before committing here for more than a night or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great campground. We came in after midnight and just picked a spot. Easy pull-throughs made life great. I paid on my way out the next day. The fellow at the front desk was super and the price was reasonable ($35). The only negative was that the campground was right on the flight path of the Jacksonville airport. We will return to this very nice campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed here several times while visiting family. Easy access and nice pull throughs. The only draw back is the close proximity to the airport, but the noise is not terrible once you stay here. We will use this campground again as it is an excellent location for getting around in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with level concrete pull thru sites. As mentioned is located under the approach zone for the airport but we didn't hear any flights past 10:30 pm. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We sent our children to the office for ice and they returned riding on a golf cart with the campground staff. I know our two boys were appreciative. Easy access from I-95. I would highly recommend. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a nice place to stop on our way to Florida. The sites were very large pull throughs, but really just a big parking lot. There was no highway noise although it was very close to 95, but there was a significant amount of noise from the planes at the nearby Jacksonville airport. They start about 6am and really "rock your world!" The folks who work there were very nice, and we enjoyed visiting the large flea market/farmer's market right next door. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was clean and fairly well maintained. Airplane noise wasn't really a problem since it stopped at night. Park does need to do something about the speed limit. Cars race through at unsafe speeds all hours of the day and night. Would stay here again but would request a spot on the inside streets. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the best campground in north Florida. The grounds are clean. the staff is wonderful and everyone is friendly. The flea market next door is owned and operated by the same people. He will go out of his way to help you with anything so you can enjoy your stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is very clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful. All sites are large pull-throughs with full concrete pads. Very easy to get in and out. The airport is a bit noisy but we got used to it. The park does need to do more to enforce the speed limit as many cars and trucks race through the park, especially after dark. Overall, we enjoyed the park and will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is wonderful! The management and staff are extremely nice. The park was extremely clean and the restrooms are very clean and nice. Nice, clean laundry facilities. Pool was nice and well kept. Park is well lit at night. Even though there is noise from the airport - it's not as bad as the previous reviews. Have stayed here a couple of times and will be back many more in the future. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice park with level sites. Clean restrooms and showers. Paved streets and well lit. Wireless internet for a charge. Can pay a daily to a monthly fee. Park is very noisy. Airport behind the park, airplanes in path of the park from 6am to 11pm. Military jets same way. Friendly staff. No recreation for kids. I think it is over priced for being so noisy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this great park for over two months, while my wife recuperated from orthopedic surgery. The staff moved us from our original site, when she returned from the hospital, so she could be near the rest rooms and pool area. The park is fairly new and is continually well-maintained. Each site is a pull-through location with wide concrete pads and a permanent concrete table and bench arrangement. New trees and good grassy areas separated each site, and the whole park is well lighted. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering information about the area. A flea market is held in an adjoining area each week-end and offers a nice diversion. The staff keeps close watch on the well-being of their guests. The park is family and pet friendly. There is some noise from the airport, but the other two parks in the area have similar noise problems, so we found the outstanding staff and facilities to make Pecan Park RV Resort our best choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

New park located in the worse location. The park is located about a quarter mile from
Jacksonville Dragway, the noise on Friday and Saturday is very loud and goes on past midnight. The park is built directly in line with the Air Force Base and Jacksonville International Airport, the noise is very loud and goes on day and night. Noisest R.V.park we ever stayed at. If you don,t mind the noise the park is nice and would deserve a rating of 8. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
