At the Southeastern edge of the Ocala National Forest, just outside the community of Paisley, Florida this is a well run campground. The camp host is friendly and informative. Delivery of firewood bundles to your site upon purchase, and ice is available for sale at the gatehouse. The hot showers are clean occasionally has some sand from people coming from the beach at the lake and can't rinse the floor after themselves. Very nice dish washing sink and counter between bathrooms. Water throughout the park between most sites. A few sites have water/electric. for RV'ers. The sites are spacious and shady with a large high canopy of oaks and pines. We even had an orange tree on our site with fruit. Roads are paved as are driveways to site to parking bumper. We came in on motorcycles, 2 tents 3 adults and 1 child and had a nice weekend. Quite a few other motorcycles here also tent camping. Easy ride to Daytona for end of bike week or ride through the forest rural roads. One family group adjacent was rather loud and obnoxious the first night, however 2nd night was on close watch to keep it down which they did. Voices carry easily in the quiet of the night through the trees. Beautiful park, everyone was pretty friendly and lots of families with kids. Nice beach and lake, not huge but nice. I would recommend keeping to the high side of the park as you get closer to the lake there is a definite down hill and if one of our Florida thundershowers comes through, could see how those would be in the path of the runoff. We were on site #5. We'll definitely go here again. We camped here in a Tent.

As Florida residents living in overpopulated South Florida, we love to get out of town and get back to nature. Clearwater Lake is by far our favorite place to go. Every site is shaded and private. The campground in quiet and the camp hosts are nice. There is a lovely 1/2 mile walk around the lake. It is also close to other great local natural attractions. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a NFS campground with no hook-ups but it does have flush toilets and some open air showers. We were told that some of the showers have hot water but we did not try them. The sites were plenty deep enough for our 30 ft class A and very roomy overall although the paved parking pad is fairly narrow (Trailer Life called the sites 8 x 55 and that's pretty close if you just consider the paved part). Most of the sites are somewhat sloped front to back (or back to front). A few are pretty close to the water with nice views but you can't necessarily get to the water from the site. Staff friendly and organized at check-in, they do a great job of keeping the park and the sites raked and tidy. We stayed over President's Day weekend and the campground was full but did not feel too cramped. Many, many, many families with children enjoyed the small but nice lake and beach area. Nice campground, easy to get to from Hwy 42 with decent roads throughout. Only real negative is that the dump station was very awkward to get to if you happen to be camping in the loop closest to the day use area (sites 1-23); many fresh water spigots were available throughout the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
