This is a very nice, very clean campground - concrete parking pads and gravel area with covered picnic table. Almost all the campsites are waterfront, except for a couple of non reservable sites. There are trees but many are not larger enough to shade campsites. More shade in the older section to the east of the entry. Bathhouses were spotless - there are 2, one is smaller and older. There is a boat ramp and fishing pier - some locals do come in to fish. During the winter season, this campground fills with many snowbird retirees, who stay 2 weeks, then move to Ortona Locks. I recommend reservations during this season. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park has nice level, paved sites. Can watch boats go through the lock at the adjacent Okeechobee waterway. Most sites are waterfront. Rate reflects Golden Passport 50% discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic park for the money. Was $24.00 night, but if you have a "Golden pass" for the over 65 generation, you have a deal at half that. We have 3 years to go yet to get that deal. No WiFi or cable TV, but we had great reception on our digital antennae with all major networks. Dump station was convenient, and with the small size of the park, was never backed up to use. Concrete paved parking spot with stone/gravel "patio" which was a nice convenience. Great little covered picnic table at each site. Every site is waterfront, with the exception of the 4 "pull through" sites in the middle, though they could still see the water. The best sites are on the South side, and the very best (most coveted) site is #10. We have already re-booked in this site for September. We had site #14, which was still really great, with a huge "patio" area. Took a tour of the area and crossed over to view the locks on the other side. Really nice Lock Masters, who all had a lot to offer with information. Took a great canoe trip down Telegraph creek, which is a true south Florida back swamp treat, complete with lots of alligators, birds, and a Llama farm! Saw many eagles at the camp site also. One thing that bothered me, was a camper that was too lazy to walk the 200 feet to the dumpster, and over stuffed the small inside bathroom tissue receptacle with 2 large bags of household garbage. I am glad that all of my fellow RVreview members would not be so inconsiderate to do such a thing. Garage dumpsters are there for our convenience. One of my favorite traditions is called the morning "dumpster tour", of which was to complete a morning walking tour, while feeding the dumpster and the recycle bins at each park we stay at, with morning coffee in hand after breakfast. Try it, you will like it! We camped here in a Motorhome.
