This CG is right off Route 3, 10 minutes from the Gateway Arch in St Louis. (That's the only good news). However, there are RR tracks somewhere nearby, and the trains blow their horns repeatedly, throughout the night. Sites are level, but tight. Staff pleasant. Accepts Good Sam discount. There is a BBQ restaurant on site. Washing machines did not work. The nearby supermarket is a pig pen, and it's the only one around. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Made last minute reservation for July 3rd. Arrived late afternoon in motorhome and was given site 37. We then went to the nearby Casino Queen to watch fireworks with friends staying at the Casino's CG. After the fireworks we came back to the CG to find our site occupied by another unit. luckily there was still someone at the office and they told me to find another open space. The spaces themselves seemed OK although rather close, but for an overnight stop I don't need more. It is frustrating to come back to a campground and find someone in your space. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When my wife and I found this place on the net we were excited because of its close proximity to St. Louis. I e-mailed to ask if they had tent sites and received a response that told me they do and I was quoted a price. My first mistake was not saving this e-mail and printing off a copy (caveat emptor!). I phoned and made a reservation about four or six weeks before our arrival. Being young and naive, I assumed I would receive a reservation confirmation listing all my charges. After all, every hotel or campground I've ever stayed at has sent a reservation confirmation. When I arrived to check in I was told a price that was twice what I had originally been quoted plus there was a charge for an additional person (we have 2 children). I told the person I didn't know about either of the charges but I didn't get anywhere (hence the regret about not having the original e-mail). I also sent an e-mail after we got home complaining about our experience and got a response, but no resolution. We stayed here for three nights and those are the only three nights we will ever stay here. I agree with everyone's comments about traffic noise and not being the nicest place to stay. If I had it to do over again, I would rather stay somewhere else and drive farther to St. Louis attractions. I would encourage others to do the same. Buyer Beware! We camped here in a Tent.
