We stayed four nights. It is about 30 min from town. Not the easiest to get to. That said it is really nice. New park. Still some work left to do. Wide sites with double cement pads. Lots of space between sites. Host was fantastic. Close to base facilities. We took the Algiers point ferry into New Orleans. It is free. Parking right next to the ferry is $5 all day. This is a military facility so not available to everyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Belle Chase-Aviation Arbor for 2 weeks. Wonderful accommodations. Immaculate, secured (with locked access-code doors) laundry and shower/rest rooms. All sites are paved double wide, so you don't have just your coach on the pad, but also have a full pad area to camp on. Only missing thing are picnic tables. Currently are there are not any on site. Great base camp for just about any tourist attraction around the city or outlying areas. Excellent staff. Only suggestion is to remind them of the discount of a day's rent if you stay more than a week at a time. Can't wait to come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is known as Belle Chasse and is available for retired and active duty military. It is new, just opened in January, the Wi-Fi will be connected soon. Very nice large cement pads, well maintained area. The new commissary and exchange are very close by and beautiful. The location is about 20 minutes from the French Quarter. Because it is so new, there were many open spots. They assign a spot when you call, you then park and drive to the registration building. We were told that an office will soon be close by. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
