We stayed two nights. It was near season's end, and the place was a shambles and very untidy. We used Passport rate and so received a 50% discount. Had there been another location close by, we would have moved. We would not stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We spent three nights here using as a base camp to visit the Bar Harbor/Acadia area. It sits back in the woods and because of the unpaved roads it was dusty. You could say it has two levels; the top is kind of an open field with little of no shade and the bottom part is shaded with lots of trees and quiet. We stayed on the bottom level and it was somewhat tight for my 34 ft 5th wheel but not a challenge. Not sure how old the campground is but it seemed new rather new because it had fresh cut trees and some of the lower sites had more than usual brush between them.. The site I had was nice and I had no problems with my hook ups. The restrooms were very clean and it had nice laundry facilities. Didn't seem to have much for kids to do. For the price $20 (Passport Campground) it was nice and close to the area's attractions and met our needs as a base camp. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had some friends visit this CG and experienced the same as we did two years ago....the dust has turned to "pot holes", the young children still run the office check-in, the owner only available when problems. Our friends did not want to write to this RV Review...just kiss off this place but, their attitude in the way we were treated left such a bad taste in our mouth we had to write on their behalf. If you are looking for CG in that area....go 3 miles further and look in Trenton, Me area the stress level will be much better than Hospitality. This CG needs to "sell out" and let someone with interest run it ! We and our friends will NEVER stay here again !!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Most important: site 50 is no longer an XL site. Evidently they changed numbers but it is not reflected on the Maine State Park reservation system. We stayed in site #33 which was nice and open with plenty of room between any other sites. Overall it is a nice park but there isn't much to do here unless you have a kayak or fish off the dock. There is no "town" (Ellsworth is about 10 minutes away) but you could make trips into Acadia from here, and it's probably 40 minute drive to Bar Harbor. If you are looking for freshwater to fill your tanks: you will need at least a 30-foot hose as the bathrooms (where the fresh water spigot is located) are about that far away from the road. Everything was really clean, although they always seemed to be mowing during the day. Otherwise, it is a very quiet park with lots of open lawn, picnic areas and a playground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed overnight on site #46, which seemed to be the only one with a sandbox area for the tent. This was a medium sized site about a car width from the road. The tree coverage is moderate, so you can't see the other sites around you. It is a short walk to the bathhouse, which was pretty nice for facilities. Bundles of wood were 5$ and was a generous bundle. They provide a small wagon to carry it to your site. I reserved beforehand, and check in was 2 min. Most sites are level, but not all, but last row of sites facing the water seemed to be the best of the bunch. I would give this park a return visit. We camped here in a Tent.

We stayed here in a 40' motorhome for $13 a night for two nights in site #60 with a very nice view of the water directly across from Mount Desert Island where Bar Harbor and Acadia NP are located. Be aware the sites are not level and most are surrounded by dense trees Sites 1, 2 & 3 are nice open sites big enough for large rigs. Note: there is no electric here and no dump station. There are water spigots some of which are accessible from your site to fill your water tank. This is the only alternative for larger rigs to stay in the Bar Harbor unless you want to spend an "arm and a leg" to stay in an "RV park" for from about $40 to more than $100 a night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camped here for the last 5 years and enjoyed our stay. CG is around 40 minutes to Acadia NP, but was worth the commute, NOT ANYMORE!!! We had booked our site in April and asked for a specific site, they said it was booked and we moved on, but while there the site we requested was never full. When we arrived, pouring rain on Sunday afternoon, we were never told about a "Boil Water Order" that was in place. Went to use the restroom after waiting an hour for the rain to slow, noticed the order, went to the office which was closed (only open 8-5) and got the attention of the woman still in the office. After finally getting her to open the door, was greeted rudely with "I have been using it all week and my dog has been drinking it, everything is FINE!" We actually spoke to someone who had called earlier in the day to inquire about a site and they were never told about the notice as well. They checked in after 5pm and had a sheet of paper notifying them about the notice, but no verbal notice when calling that day. We decided we would still give it a chance until I decided to take a shower at the CG facilities and it wasn't terrible until the hot water ran out after approx 4 minutes of a shower. Had to finish in ice cold water. As stated earlier, we camped here the last five years and really enjoyed it but we will not be going back. Over this last off season it was bought out by a Corporation and is not worth the time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are generally tight. We stayed on site 435 (a pull-thru) and not enough room to put our awning down. Campground is 9 miles West of Ellsworth and about 30 minutes+ from Bar Harborn. Very quiet. Beach is rocky. They have boats for rent and dockage. All gravel roads- many trees- small sites with grass. Cable TV is free. WiFi cost $4.95 a day. Would stay here again, but would need a larger site??? We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great park with wide long open sites with gravel and grass. There was Wi-Fi but only in the rec building. It was close enough to Bar Harbor, but not the large prices at Bar Harbor. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for two nights in the middle of August 2007. The restrooms were clean, the showers clean and hot with good water pressure, and the grounds were clean. There were some "seasonal" campers there and all the lots were decorated with flowers, yard things etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful letting us know events in the area. The other campers in the park were very friendly and during our walk would come out and talk to us for a few minutes. Noise was not an issue from traffic or other campers. The most we heard was a radio (not blaring) from a few campsites down. There was no lighting on the "streets" so it made for a restful night. We camped here in a Tent.
