- Vegas Tom Two of our group went fishing to the Trail Canyon reservoir. It's difficult to locate as half of the trip was on slow dirts roads with minimal signage. I had been there before and was able to find my way there. Trail Canyon Reservoir can be located on Google Earth. Also ask the store for directions. The State of Nevada plants Rainbow trout. We literally hooked a fish with 15 to 20 seconds of putting our line in the water. We could have caught our limit within 30 minutes, but we used "catch and release".
