This is one of the best state park campgrounds in Michigan. We liked the large sites and the lake access. There are lots of trails, some that go as far as Harrisville so there is a lot to see either walking or riding you bike. We have 3 dogs and were able to walk them anywhere in the park without problems, which was nice. One must realize that in most Michigan state parks there is no water or sewer hookup, but, outside of that the park is great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We found this park to be well laid out with many sites on Lake Huron and several pull-thrus just inland. Pull-thrus are large but trees can be a problem, we found it easier to back into our site. Roads are paved but somewhat narrow with fairly tight turns for larger rigs [we have a 40' Class A] but we had no problems. Like most State Parks no water or sewer, but 50 amp at many sites! The dump station is in a odd location requiring a some tight turns or a lap around the campground. A good place to base camp from to explore the Au Sable River and Huron National Forest. The town Harrisville is quaint with a nice marina. Reservations can be made on the Michigan DNR website. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
