We stayed in the two Camping Cabins they have on-site. They were both clean and nicely furnished. The Restrooms and showers were also very clean and well kept. We arrived late in the evening, but kept in contact with the owners via Cell phone. As soon as we arrived, they came down and checked us in. The owners also came back down later on the evening to warn us about approaching Severe Thunderstorms in the area. They even offered the us of their Barns to protect our Vehicles in case of hail and use of their Storm Shelter if needed. I would stay at Fort McPherson Campgrounds again. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
We didn't stay at this campground to learn much about it-our worst experience ever. The ad says easy on and off Interstate but does not mention the dirt road that leads you over a very unstable looking bridge (we never should have chanced it) into what resembles someone's abandoned back yard. Abandoned was true-not a soul around or a sign saying to pick a site. The steps leading up to the office had plants on them to block anyone from getting into the office. We left a message on their voice mail and while we waited for a return call, we decided to vacate the premises. Later our call was apologetically returned by a woman who had been at a library meeting who assured us she does not do business this way. Yes, we had a reservation but you can bet we will never make another one at this nightmare place. We camped here in a Motorhome.
