Tips from campers about Oneonta, NY
- Life Without Whine Bicycled around, swam in lake Superior at Burns Landing, enjoyed the hospitality and story telling at both the outfitters shop and the tavern (Lumberjack... Watch the movie Anatomy of A Murder) with great food and happy hour.
- LNTHAYES We did take a walk to the local ice cream shop and enjoyed the variety of available flavors. Several hiking options are in the vicinity and a trip into downtown Marquette is worth the ride. Many paved trails along the waterfront all nicely landscaped.
- John A Guderian We visited Presque Isle Park in Marquette (approximately 1/2 hour from the campground). We were able to navigate the whole loop with our 19 foot trailer, but it would probably be harder to do this with a longer trailer. Also, the loop is closed to traffic on weekends; we were lucky to have been there mid-week. Do not drive to the Big Bay Point lighthouse. The area belongs to the Coastguard and access is restricted (although the drive is nice and we saw three deer).
