Tips from campers about Shenorock, NY
- TonyMonicaB There is a Meijer in The Soo, less than 15 miles from campground. We ate at Cozy Corners in Barbeau (Cozy Bites are awesome!), breakfast at Pure Country in Rudyard (there's one in The Soo as well) and Sundowner. We did laundry at the laundromat in Kinross in the mall. A little expensive we thought ($5.25 to wash--claimed to be a double-load washer but we thought it was small). There are several farmer's markets in the area: Market Corner in The Soo, one in DeTour and in Les Cheneaux/Hessel, MI. The Chippewa County Fair was going on while we were there with several races at the racetrack. We were on a mission to find Lake Superior agates, Yooperlites and other rocks native to the area. Brimley State Park had no rocks on the beach. Pt. Iroquois Lighthouse and Big Pine Picnic Area in Brimley had a lot of rocks but we didn't find any agates. We're new to rockhunting so we're not real sure what we're looking for. We went back to Pt. Iroquois LH at night to look for Yooperlites but didn't find any.1 year ago Clear Lake Campground
- TonyMonicaB Dafter is about 35 miles north of the Mackinaw Bridge. Sault Ste Marie is less than 15 miles from the campground. De Tour is less than an hour.2 years ago Clear Lake Campground
