We camped here for the fireworks. This was the best view in town. We wanted 50 amp, but made due with the 30 amp. No shade. There was nothing for the kids to do. The lake was too far for them to walk to. We camped here in a Motorhome.
As stated in the previous review, the park has changed hands ...in my opinion, the park has gone downhill since the change..the weeds haven't been mowed, the price increased, the electrical needs upgrading, the place just looks like it hasn't been taken care of, no maintainence, we have stayed here the past 10 yrs, but don't believe we will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground recently has changed hands...No 50 amp service was available...no improvements other than wi-fi added has been made...price has increased...a nice place if you just want to fish or rest... In my opinion, the fees are too high for what you get. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice RV Park, with a nice view of the lake. The facilities (Showers, bathroom, and hook-ups) were clean and well maintained. While there were some activities for "seasoned citizens" there were no activates for families with kids - in fact they charged extra for kids; $3.50 a night for my teenager, and $2.50 for my preteen. I don't want to be too negative; this was the best RV Park in Eagle Nest. Most of the guest were Texans spending the summer out of the heat. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Staff is friendly...good view of lake, but there are no trees...the campground sits on the top of a hill and the lake is approximately 300 yards away...good spot to camp if that is all you want to do... We camped here in a Motorhome.
Remember, as a kid, the warm feeling you got on a cold day going to your favorite grandparents house for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner? You knew you were family, and you knew you always had a special place at the table waiting just for you! That is exactly the way the park owners makes me and my wife and our friends feel at Golden Eagle RV Park in Eagle Nest, New Mexico. They absolutely try their very best to make each guest welcome. It just seems they cannot do enough you make your stay happy. Plenty of fresh, free coffee throughout the day starting at 7:30 a.m., very clean showers and plenty of hot water. The view of the mountains cannot be beat and the early morning cold temperatures in August make this old Texan's heart leap for joy! We discovered this place three years ago and plan to return for another month next summer, along with other friends who also are also returning. Like us, they have grown to appreciate that special warm feeling and attention the owners have so generously given each time we go. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Park is on two seperate levels. So depending on where your parked, you may or may not, have any views of the mountains and the lake. We were parked on the edge of the upper level so we had terrific views of the countryside. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. The park is clean and neat. Their advertised "free" breakfast was vastly overstated: a couple of donut holes and canned fruit. They do have free coffee available all day to guests: nice if your a big coffee drinker. The site spaces are very tight: with slides on each side of our coach our window awnings touched the neighbors. Ok for an overnight, but too tight for a long stay. However, that did not seem to bother the large number of long term summer / monthly campers escaping the summer heat in Texas and Oklahoma. The $39.00 per night was overpriced for what you get. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The spaces VERY close together. After sliding out we were about 2 inches from electric and our awning was almost touched next rig. The large rock gravel for "patio" that wasn't level. Water pressure varies drastically from 80 psi to 50 psi or less with gauge, so you don't know whether or not to us regulator. We did & pressure was very low in rig. You are required to take your dog "off the property" for them to do their business. That is very inconvenient when it is raining or threatening rain. A free continental breakfast was supposedly pastry baked on premise & fresh fruit. We were served canned fruit & donut holes. The views are nice and the park is quiet. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Golden Eagle RV Park, Eagle Nest, NM 540 W. Therma (Highway 64) PO Box. 458 Eagle Nest, NM 87718 Lat: 36.55276N Lon: 105.27008W This is a wonderful park with super owners, Bruce and Bridgette. This is my 4th visit and my wife and I just love it. We can't wait to get back here for the whole month of August. We are escaping the Texas heat. The park has mountain views and a view of Eagle Nest State Park Lake and the town of Eagle Nest. It is near Angle Fire (11 mi) and Red River (25 mi) Ski resorts. Complementary continental breakfast 7 days a week, the club room features wide screen HD TV, and the coffee never stops flowing. Open year around. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What everyone else has said plus...Watch out for the bear! Don't leave anything out especially small dogs. Don't miss the Boardwalk Restaurant. White tablecloth first class dining. Great food. Closed Thursdays. One block west. I'll be back when I have more time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We arrived late (11:30 pm) and the camp host (Wayne) waited up. He showed us to our space and helped us back in. He was very helpful and very nice. The owners are great too. We had a space in the back of the park, which helped when we wanted to walk our dogs. The internet connection was good. The view of the lake was awesome. Overall, we had a great time and we will return. I wish we could have stayed longer. Can't wait to go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A very friendly park with basic facilities with a lot of return campers. The rec room has a laundry and showers. The Wi-Fi worked well, but you need to be able to see the Rec Hall to have best service. Campers are very friendly and have Pot Luck Dinners on a regular basis. If you are fishing the Cimmaron River or Eagle Nest Lake, this is the place. I would come back for another visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners are exceptionally nice and interact with guests. Park located in town so walking to stores and eating establishments is easy. Owner is currently sprucing up park to make it even better. It's one of our favorite places in the area--the weather has been great in summer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Small park, but price is good for the area. Not much in the way of amenities, but has easy access to "Enchanted Circle" area. Sites are a little hard to level up in, but location is right in town and walking distance to everything in Eagle Nest. Will definitely stay again when in that area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We camped here during Memorial Day week-end. We had more than adequate parking space for our forty foot motorhome and our twenty foot motorcycle trailer. The facilities and grounds are super clean. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. We liked it so much we're coming back for the Forth of July fireworks display. This is a nice quite and friendly RV park. We highly recommend over larger, crowded, noisy parks near and around town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Roads and sites are gravel but mostly level. Pull through sites face Eagle Lake. Boondocking sites available for $10 per night. Very friendly owner who occasionally hosts wiener roasts, pot lucks etc. Laundry facility and small rec. room open during business hours only. One of the best unknown gems in Eagle Lake and the cheapest! Monthly rate only $260 + electricity. A great place to stay for touring the Enchanted Circle and surrounding areas. We camped here in a Motorhome.
