We loved this cg! Mostly the scenery as it's just a lovely place! Very photogenic and since I love to take photos, this was definitely a bonus! But it also had full hook-ups. And the price, while a little on the high end for what we look to pay, was as reasonable as anything else in the area. It was $35 for full hook-ups plus $2/night for the 50amp. They only have one washer and one dryer, and the dryer mostly worked but left clothes a bit damp. (I emailed the owners, hopefully they will get that fixed.) But otherwise, wonderful place! As soon as we saw the layout and our site, we signed up for two more nights right away. The river, running into Oneida Lake, runs right alongside the cg, which was wonderful for our two dogs to play and cool off in! There is a big horseshoe-shaped pond that many of the sites are located on. So, one warning: as with most places with so much water, the mosquitoes are bad after dusk! But no problem during the day. Very spacious sites and open feeling in general. We got good Verizon and satellite signal. We would definitely stay here again if in the area! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Well maintained, family run operation. The owner even helped get us situated on the site. Lots of full timers, but no trashy sights, sites, or sounds. Showers are toward the front of the park and a number of bathroom only buildings are situated around the park. The only thing missing is a pool. Fishing and kayaking on the river is great. You are in the middle of farm country. Sites are set up to be deep, and allow for the parking of two cars. Sylvan Beach is 4 miles away (amusement park, beach, seafood). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our Campsite was on the Water, well our backyard was the water. We had a very large lot, and it was well away from sounds of a busy road. Instead we could hear the sounds of frogs, wildlife in general. Very nice setting. We are from New York City (Long Island) and plan on visiting again for another week. The website was very helpful in our decision to camp at Mayfair. The manager of the campground was very helpful in directing us to all the nearby areas on Oneida Lake. Personally I would highly recommend this campground to anyone going to Oneida lake in upstate New York. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is very very overpriced for the amenities. It is very run down and mostly seasonals that are not taken care of. They have no pool, no real swimming access, and everything to rent is either broken, run down, or both. Don't pay the price to stay here it's a huge disappointment. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Campground was mostly OK. Mostly permanent sites and close together. Advertised kayak rentals, and only had one. Web site info not correct. Full hookup is $35 and electric/water sites are $32. Sewer hook-up was plugged. Reported it to management several times to no avail. Bathrooms were clean with new floors, walls, and sinks, but the toilets were very old small RV toilets - weird. Pay showers available. Upon checkout, requested a refund for the difference between a sewer and non-sewer site fee and was reluctantly given one after much discussion. Near a nice little town, Sylvan Beach, that hosts a nostalgic amusement park and arcade for small children and a very nice public beach. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Campground is located on Fish Creek (the outlet for Oneida Lake)about 2 miles from Sylvan Beach Sylvan Beach has restaurants and tourist attractions The area is very pretty (I grew up in the area).Syracuse, Utica or Romeare about a half hour from the campground. The campground is quiet. It appears there are many permanent residents, including a retirement section. Roads are stone and in need of more stone. The sites are large enough, but are not too level. Looks like fresh stone on the sites where I was, but the site inclined about 3 degrees down from the front. The area around my site had straw on it. Don't know if it was to cover the mud or grass seed was planted. The park was gated with a security card for entrance. Staff was helpful and friendly. One large disappointment were the showers. For $35 a night, showers should be free. They weren't. The showers were clean, but there was no heat (daytime temps were in 50's; nights in low 40's) and the shower curtains were stiff with age. There are a couple of other campgrounds in the area and I think I would look at them next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
While this is a beautiful park, very clean and quiet: the woman/owner (?) at the counter is very rude and quite mean. She was somewhat pleasant on the phone, by the way. We camped in an RV and had local friends come over to visit. They were treated like children, as we were at check in, going over every rule and regulation. This is fine, but there is a right way, and a wrong way to greet guests! We are full grown, responsible, quiet adults, not partyers. We were made to feel as though we were doing something wrong, as they patrol the area every 30 minutes, stopping at your site if you have a towel over the arm of an awning, etc. We were warned well in advanced how rude she is, but figured we'd take a chance. We have one vacation a year, but will never return to this campground. We will try another park up the road who has someone at the front counter who is not as cantankerous as this lady. It does say something that this campground was next to empty, while all the others on the river were full! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this to be a wonderful spot, and wished we'd found it sooner so we could have stayed longer than two nights. We saw no long list of rules, other than the normal rules of controlling and picking up after your children and dogs, observing quiet times, etc. (And frankly, if people object to those rules, we don't want to be camped anywhere near them!) Owners are delightful -- friendly and helpful. Sites were very large, and ours was level. Interior roads are a bit rough, but not a problem if you go slowly. And we'll gladly take the rough road again to experience the peace and quiet of this lovely campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Treasure Island is a good campground only if you are planning on a one night stopover while travelling. The weekend that our group (3 campers) stayed here was very hot, there are trees and shade cover only for the seasonals and we were placed in the middle of the circular grassy area with no trees whatsoever. The owners are friendly, but the rules and regulations list is a mile long. The owners patrol every 30 minutes. There was a huge overhead street light, that put a huge damper on the nightly camp fire. Beach area is clean and sandy, kids enjoyed it immensely. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is fine as a base camp for visiting the area, and there is a lot to see. We were told the campground is 5 years old, if it is they haven’t graded the roads since the first year. Our campsite was in the shade and was somewhat short, and not level (mostly grass and dirt with ruts from previous campers). The owners/managers were helpful, if somewhat short. The rules, of which there were many, seemed not to apply to the seasonal campers, most of which seemed to be a rather surly lot. The campground needs work on the overnight sites to be truly a competitive destination campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground with shade and sunny sites. Big rig friendly with a large open field for larger rigs with hookups. Owners will escort you to your site but tend to stay while your trying to setup. Owners are eager to please and help if you need it, but they also would drive around making sure everyone was following the rules which isn't a bad thing, but they would sit on the side of the field looking for any infractions. Restrooms were clean and comfortable. There is a beach for swimming and a dock for boating and fishing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
