This campground is highly rated in the books, but has fallen on hard times over the past two years. After a fire that destroyed the office, operations have been pretty makeshift. Entrance is hard to see and somewhat dangerous. Pool not operational now. No office is open, just a manager's trailer. The camp is in a beautiful location and the bath houses are in immaculate condition. Access road paved, but steep and scary. Sites are terraced, not quite level, but give lots of privacy for the closeness. Staff is friendly but a little strange, not sure about security. Used to have a lot of music and family activities, but you may want to look it over before making a committment. Steep 4-5 miles to Highlands; no other campground in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
