CG owned & run by town's merchants, very friendly, helpful staff. Open campground on mostly gravel lot overlooking Louisbourg Harbor, across the bay from Louisbourg Fortress (a restoration of Louis XV fort now portrayed in 1744). You can see the Fortress from the campground through the fishing boats. You get a second day on your Fortress ticket if you stay in Louisbourg, have the CG stamp your entry ticket. Walk to playhouse, library, post office, store & several restaurants, 5 min drive to Fortress. Tent sites are on a grassy lot to one side (next to harbor boardwalk), with a picnic table placed on a cement pad, each with it's own shelter roof. Nice large glass gazebo w pay phone-modem. We could not get Direct TV satellite (out of the footprint, we think), but would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We loved this Park so much we keep extending our stay. It is convenient to everything - you can walk to the Fortress of Louisbourg and to downtown. WIFI worked great. Right on the Harbour with a fabulous ocean view. Sites level. Able to sit on the waterfront and watch the fishing boats go by. Make sure you visit the Lighthouse and Playhouse too as well as the Fortress. Laundramat clean and worked well too. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Open gravel spaces surrounding small suite hotel on a peninsula in Louisbourg harbor, near Louisbourg Fortress entrance. Meals available on site, walking distance to town. WiFi is in progress. Appears to be out of direct TV footprint. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a new campground (6 years old). All the facilities were new and very clean. The owners have cottages nearby plus a small grocery store and laundromat. It is an open campground with no shade trees. The sites are wide, level and many are pull-through. All sites are 3-way 30 amp. The location is very close to the Louisbourg Fortress. There is a small playground. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and we got a few TV channels. There were no seasonal campers. We found the campground quiet and friendly. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
