This is truly a campground and not an RV park, so it's only fair to judge it accordingly. If you enjoy a woodsy, funky, laid back atmosphere where your pets and kids can roam free, then you're going to love this place. The RV parked next to us had Pet Goats that they kept in their RV and took for walks on a leash. It's that kind of place! The owner checked us in and was friendly. The campsites are dirt and grass and scattered about haphazardly. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Water pressure was about 50 psi at our pull through site (behind the office) and voltage was good. The free WiFi was surprising strong and fast. The price we paid reflects a Passport America rate, which we felt was an absolute bargain considering we had a full hookup site and the WiFi was so good. While I'm not sure this is the kind of place we'd care to stay at long term, we'd definitely stay here again for an overnighter or even a few days if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Price reflects a Passport America discount. This place is our kind of campground. Rustic and laid back but clean and comfortable. Pay for laundry and ice on he honor system. Resident dogs roam grounds along with chickens and at least one cat. Our dog loved it (didn't bother the chickens) and enjoyed walking along, and in, the river a couple times a day. Manager and owner both friendly. No local TV, but clubhouse has satellite, Internet, movie and book library. Good Verizon signal. We plan to return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Love this place! Me and the ole lady go camping to get away and enjoy, and this is the place to do it. I don't care about WiFi. Camping is about nature not E-Mail. Love the dogs. The folks that own and operate this camp ground are some of the best people you well ever meet. When you buy wood you get a loader bucket load, WOW! The best deal I ever got on wood. Very good place and I recommend to anybody. It's Great. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here on a hot day and then we lost 50 amp and were running on 30 amp for a good part of the hottest part of the day before it was fixed and 50 amp came back. The dog rules are great. They advertise free WIFI and it is free for 1/2 hr 3 times a day and then it is shut off so if you need to do any thing that takes more the 1/2 hr forget it. the staff is friendly and we probably will return We camped here in a Motorhome.
The wiring was funky, my 30 amp hookup was full of bugs and the needle of my interior gauge kept fluctuating. The WiFi wasn't working. And the deal breaker was the bathroom. It was greatly in need of repair, peeling paint, door wouldn't shut, only one bathroom. And it was filthy! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a park that is not for everyone. You have 50 sites on 36 acres of land with the river on one edge of the park. The roads are dirt, and the trees need trimmed, but the sites are level, and we have never camped in a spot where there was so much room between rigs. The atmosphere was as trusting as anywhere we have ever been. If you want ice take a bag and fill it up at the ice machine and leave $1.50 on top. Want to use the washer and dryer; leave $3.00 on the top when you are finished. The grounds were very well kept, and if you like fishing there is plenty of river to fish in. All that being said this is not for everyone. If you want a resort, this is not it. If dogs running loose bothers you, don't come here. This is in the forest and the dogs are used to keep critters out, but they are very friendly to people and other dogs. If you are looking for an RV resort, this is not it as the name implies. It is a campground that happens to have RV spaces in it. There is no store to speak of so bring all you need. The water pressure and electric service was good. There was one TV channel over the air; no cable. We will camp there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
