Beautiful state park. Unfortunately we booked late so had to stay in two different sites within the campground but both were nicely shaded and roomy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was very nice but as with most all government campgrounds, you can have campfires and it seemed like most everyone had to have a campfire. With there not being any wind the smoke hung in the air. You could not site outside and enjoy the nice cool evenings. I would really be nice if campfires were outlawed in government campgrounds. This was our only complaint with the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camp here on a regular basis. Arguably the best State campground in Oregon which is noted for having some great campgrounds. Its located adjacent to a beautiful beach but you need to walk under the highway bridge to gain access. The campground is heavily treed and has some great walking trails, kid playgrounds, streams, and old gnarly trees. The restrooms & shower facilities are clean. The campground is very large and if you want a campsite near the Ocean you should probably make a reservation. We tend to pick a campsite further back in the woods which is a bit quieter and we enjoy the 1/4 mile walk through the campground to the beach. The campground is about a 5 minute drive to Newport for dining, shopping etc. and is about a 20 minute drive to Lincoln City where you can find an Indian Casino as well as shopping and dining. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great State campground. Electric is 20 amp. Paved sites and road are tight for 40' but most sites are OK. Very shady and wet at the end of Nov. and full. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came to this park after visiting Nehalem Bay State Park. We would choose this one in a heart beat over Nehalem. The sites are so beautiful and private. You can walk to the beach along the trail by the stream or on the road. Because you don't have a long slog through a sandy path as at Nehalem, the time to get to the beach really doesn't seem that long. Make sure you spend some time at Devil's Punch Bowl State Park, an easy walk along the beach or a short drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Another nice Oregon state park. Lots of trees as mentioned. Only drawback was the layout. The loops keep going deeper and deeper into the woods. This is good and bad. Adds quite a bit of time just getting all the way to the back of the park where we were. Hence a very long walk back out to the beach. But good for peace and quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is in a great location, but is mismanaged. The camp hosts are great, the paid employees leave a lot to be desired. People drive too fast through, too loud, dirty restrooms. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice State Park with paved pads and plenty of trees. It appeared that all sites had campfire rings and picnic tables. It seemed as if no (2) sites were directly next to each other so it can be fairly quiet and private. I did not try satellite but it looked like reception to the sky may be obstructed by all the trees. There was firewood for sale and the kids enjoyed the 1 playground. Be aware of hook ups as some had sewer, 30 amp, and H20 while others only had 15 amp. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice Oregon state park. Camp hosts very friendly and accommodating, short walk to the ocean. Good place to stay for a weekend. Would have liked it if the campsites were a little more private, but still nice play to stay for a weekend getaway. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was my very first experience with camping of ANY kind, in my "new" RV, over 2500 miles from my lifelong home in the Midwest...and it was wonderful! The beautiful Pacific Ocean, and a nice beach for walking, is right across the street, although there was a lot of construction going on which made the walk a bit dicey and the view nonexistent. The Park Rangers and resident "Camp Hosts" were all polite, informative and nice! The staff was pretty bare-bones, as it was mid-winter when we visited for two weeks, but then again, often we were the only campers in the entire State Park!!! We rode out a truly incredible wind and rain storm in the protected woods of the camp loops. Beautiful, old growth, huge cedar trees and incredible ferns and other undergrowth made for a serene and true in-the-forest experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is great for tenters, but I would say the park is barely accessible to big rigs. Our motorhome is 38' and we felt like we were the largest motorhome in the park. The roads are narrow, and in bad shape. We were in the "C" loop, and in order to avoid exiting the park by going all the way to the end of the loops, and back, we had to go around the C loop. It is narrow and in terrible shape. From reading the reviews, I was expecting much more in this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow! What a beautiful state park. It's hard to put into words just how gorgeous the setting is. The sites are well spaced and surrounded by old growth forest and vegetation. There are plenty of things for kids (the young and old ones) to do, including nature walking, hiking, biking, flying kites and walking along the beach. We went into town one day and picked up fresh bread and produce at the farmers market, which was downright scrumptious. You simply can't go wrong spending time here. We will definitely go back when in the area and will try to get a site along the forest. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful RV park. Lots of shade trees, lots of trails to walk. Less then a 5 min walk to the beach. Park hosts in every section, state police patrolled, safe, quite, friendly camp ground. Fire pits at every site, and most are full hook ups. Nice large dump station with full turn around. Big rigs easy to move through the park. Set on the coast, but feels like the high mountains. Five star Park. Located 7 miles north of Newport Oregon on Hwy 101. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great beach campground with many sites that are long enough for our Suburban/travel trailer combination. The walk to the beach from our campsite was a bit long with all of the junk we carry (water, snacks, toys) to keep the kids happy. Check the map before reserving a site. This is a really beautiful campground with large, private sites and shade provided by densely packed evergreen trees and thick underbrush. Our site backed up to a small creek to the south. An easy walk to the scenic, wide beach under US 101. The folks that work there are very friendly and helpful. Firewood and ice are readily available. The park is obviously well cared for, but the bathrooms, although generally clean, could use a little more maintenance (e.g., partially plugged drains in the shower, countertops a little beat up). We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Great campground. Full hookups and reasonably priced. Lots of shade. Sites are almost all in the woods but it's not overgrown. The ocean is a short walk under Rt 101. Great ranger programs - kids really liked the tour of tide pools at low tide. Ranger talks most days and nights. Close to Newport for shopping and restaurants. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beverly Beach is a beautiful park nestled in the pines and only a short walk to the beach. I already have reservations for 2004. Reservations are best made through the Oregon State Parks web site, and can be made as much as 9 months in advance. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Located across Highway 101 from the ocean. There is a walk through for access at the lower end of the campground. The campground is nestled in a dense forest complete with scads of raccoons. It was practically deserted the night we spent here in November. Another spectacular Oregon campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is another wonderful Oregon coast campground, with trees, ocean across road. This like the other Oregon coast State Parks is very busy during the summer. We camped here in a camper.

Park seemed older. Sites kind of funky. All prime sites are occupied with full timers. Tight campsites, steep hills, no room for tables. "10 minute" walk to old town is more like 30 minutes, but not bad. It took about hour to find site that was usable with our std..RV. Confusion in office about site services. This is, by far, the best RV resort on the Oregon Coast. Keep in mind, however, that it is a big rig RV resort - not a campground with lots of trees and firepits. It is paved roads and concrete pads with grass between sites. Although the park is right on the Pacific ocean, very few sites have direct ocean views; AND they're about $90/day. But the entire resort is so beautiful, it really does not matter where your site is. It is very well located in the northern part of Newport close to all the restaurants and shopping. They offer a big clubhouse, store, and two pools. I would have rated a 10 except for two essential details: They do not offer daily trash pick-up and, most importantly, the office staff (both women) are extremely rude and aloof. They barely look up from their computers and do not smile - ever! My husband thinks that it is because we are not owners (you can also purchase sites here). However, they still have a lot to sell, so you would think at a wonderful place like this the management could find happier people. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We did not actually stay here, but toured the facilities with a salesman. The park is absolutely fantastic, as well described by other posters. I must comment on the office staff, however. The previous reviewer had it dead on: the woman at the front desk barely looked up from her computer screen, and muttered "can I help you" as her greeting. Why she thought that whatever was on her screen was more important than a real live customer will remain a mystery. If I was the sales manager there, the first thing I would do is fire her. This is a high-end resort, mind you, with lots costing as much as $250,000. The developer is now selling some lots for $39,900, which is about half what they were a while ago. Good luck with that staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic park. Plenty of spaces. Great staff. We have stayed here many times as we are from Portland. Indoor and outdoor pools. Right on the bluff overlooking the ocean. Lots to do in Newport. Very relaxing stay. Nice neighbors. Very quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is all about location. Spots overlooking the sea also get the Yacquina Lighthouse in full view...best views are in the corner, ours was spot 186. Beach is accessible by a short but fairly steep path below. Spots are well spaced with easy hookups. Only facility we used was wifi which worked well. Beware of strong winds (and rain) so jacks down are recommended! About 5 minute drive from Agate Beach (where park is) to Newport town and about 10 minutes away from the old town by the bay. Pricey RV park although, the cheapest sites start at $60 (but you get no view) before discounts. We got a Family Motorcoach 15% discount. I'd recommend staying here for the premium spots with the view but you might look elsewhere if all you want is a clean park to stay at for a cheaper rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. We paid more for an ocean front site that was picture perfect including light house in background for dramatic photos. If you want to splurge this is the place for a respite! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The experience of a front row position overlooking the ocean for 30 days in August- September is very difficult to beat anywhere in the US. The park is a 10 in every way. Excellent comradarie with fellow rvers. We enjoyed visiting 15 towns up and down the Oregon Coast and Newport among the best. You can expect cool temperatures, wind, rain and days with partial sun. Sounds perfect if you are from Palm Springs! Looking forward to returning. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has no competition in the Pacific Northwest. Just a class act all around. Great beach, nice staff and very quiet neighbors. Our 9 year old twins had a blast in the pools and on the beach. This was the long weekend in September so more kids I was told then usual. The kids we did see seemed to be with their grandparents, definitely an older crowd but a great experience for us and our new rig. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are big fans of Outdoor Resorts, and this is one of the finest. Be prepared for the ocean weather though. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Ritz Carlton of RV Parks. From the moment you arrive, until the day you sadly have to leave, they treat you like royalty. Wonderful large sites, with ample width for the biggest coaches, and still room to park a tow comfortably. Many sites front a beautiful grass and forest area. Some face the oceanfront, and the least expensive are along the highway 101 access. Superb WI-FI connection at each site is available complimentary (they used to charge, but it was complimentary on this summer's visit). Excellent cable service, and they even deliver a daily newspaper and newsletter to your door daily. "Room service" is available from their deli in case you don't feel like cooking. Huge indoor pool, as well as outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor spas, exercise facility, and state of the art laundries. I always love visiting this place. My biggest disappointment is having to leave. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great property, except the tired landscaping and the constant cold winds. The beach is great for walking and the views spectacular. Management is excellent and there is 24/7 gated security. Would stay here again. Any size rig fits on the very large concrete pads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV Park, and we agree with other reviews of indifference among the staff. The wifi cost us $32/month, with 94% reliability. We discovered our one month rental for August (which increased from $900 to $1450 in 6 months) was only for 30 days, even though August has 31 days. After much argument, management agreed to make an exception for us, and allow us to remain all 31 nights, without further payment, and this was appreciated. We were unable to find the definition of a month equal to 30 days in the literature. This is the policy of the home owners association, as is the policy of charging for wifi. We got really spoiled with coffee every morning, and a newspaper delivered to our door. The grounds are very well kept, and the staff did pick up after those few dog owners who manage to sneak away without cleaning up after Rover! Our motorhome fit fine, but we had to be cautious when parking the tow vehicle - the space was tight. We were in the upper part of the park, and noticed those in the cheaper spaces, closes to Hwy 101, endured lots more highway noise, and the spaces were also shorter. Also, although the resort claims a 35' length minimum, there were several days we noticed units under this limit. During our stay there were typically lots of vacant spaces. Great places in Newport to eat include Kam Meng, a nearby Chinese Restaurant, and the Lighthouse restaurant South of the bridge for excellent fresh fish and crab. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This resort is not for everyone. It is expensive and has a feel of being exclusive. The staff is often seen as being impersonal and cold. That said, it is the finest class A motor home resorts we have experienced so far and would consider it a leader in what will become a standard in the future for class A RV resorts. It is not perfect, but it's close. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is quite a nice park. But I would never pay $90 for a campsite. We were able to enjoy the resort with a coupon. I read in the other review that the park charges for WiFi. Shame on them. At what they charge per night it should be included. Since we were here on a "coupon", we were put in a back-in site where we could hear the road noise from Route 101. But worse than that, the site was not angled to allow easy parking. The guy across the way just had to park his car in such a way that it was even more difficult to park the rig. When I made the reservation I found that individual to be friendly. However, when I called for directions, that person was either stupid or snooty. We do appreciate the cleanliness of the park and having a paved campsite. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very beautiful Outdoor Resorts Campground with great facilities. It offers a great view of the Pacific Ocean. The only negative is that the staff, though polite, are noticeably unfriendly and lack a simple smile when dealing with the public. They seemed bored with having to deal with guests. Too bad, the park is beautiful, and they could have made it a "10". We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here last year in September and rated the stay a 10. Because of the experience, we came back to the same upgraded "ocean front" sites that we stayed in before. Surprise! After a couple of days, a security guard delivers us a message stating that we must move to a non-view site because the owner of the site we are staying at has chosen at the last moment to come here. In their fine print on the back of some of the site maps, not the one they gave us at check-in, they maintain the right to move renters if the owner shows up and wants their site. Beware! It can ruin your experience here immediately. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Best park we ever stayed in with the kids. If you have kids this is RV Disneyland. Arcades, huge pool, day and evening activities for kids and adults. Very beautiful spot. We live in LA area and this park will be on our list for our next coastal travel. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Beautiful up-scale, gated country club setting. Our pad had ocean view from distance and overlooked golf course. Short walk to clubhouse for pool and laundry. Extra charge for wi-fi. Staff on duty not friendly but limited contact. Park offers activities to owners and overnighters. No shade but year around cool temperatures. Easy access to Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, etc. Indoor pool and jacuzzi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I agree with all the other reviews. However, there are some things you need to know. The wifi is $3.00 a day, even if you have paid for the most expensive site in the park, as we did. After you pick the cost of the site you wish, they put it in the computer and it goes by rotation. So you get what they give you. The last guy in gets the best spot, at least in our case. We paid for an ocean view and got the spot that was marginal, while the next 2 people got the better view spots. Not sure I would spend that kind of money again for that kind of treatment. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park our site overlooked the ocean and had a great view of a lighthouse. Paper delivery every morning with activities list inside. Pathway down to the ocean. Prices vary depending on your location and view, we splurged and went for the best. Great seafood in town and the best chowder is at the Chowder Bowl on Nye Beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the off season for the great rates. Got a nice spot overlooking the ocean. Park was pretty much empty and the views were priceless. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Agree with all positive reviews below. Fantastic resort (and I mean RESORT). All facilities spotless, great trails to hike all around and down to the ocean. Beautifully manicured grounds with rambling lawns, towering pines at the perimeter, blacktop driveways, and concrete pads. Very friendly staff. Nice to be parked with other high-line coach neighbors in an upscale location. Sites are owned (condo-style) and rented out when owners are away. Newport nearby with lots of shopping. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves -- enough to seriously consider purchasing one of the available pads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the best RV park we have ever visited. We have stayed at another Outdoor Resorts location and expected this to be comparable. However, this location was outstanding. Typical Outdoor Resorts except with an exceptional view of the ocean and lighthouse. Weather was crappy, rainy and cold. Resort was very well kept and maintained. This is the Four Season of parks. Everything was very nice. High end for sure. It's expensive but the kids and us had a great time. Right on the cliff looking over the beach. You have to walk down to the beach and it's a little bit for small children but we loved every minute we were there. We will be back for sure. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very impressive RV resort! Friendly staff and very clean facilities! We were upgraded to a Premium Ocean View site because the owners of the site we had rented decided arrive the same time we were to arrive. The property was extremely relaxing! I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone with a Class A or Class C rig over 25', as per Their requirements! The only negative we encountered had nothing to do with the park itself, but with a number of "Not so Friendly" Motor coach owners! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good security. We had guests visit and they weren't hassled by gate guard. Very professional and friendly. Grounds in reasonable shape. Best sites are front row south end, beautiful view of lighthouse and ocean. Site owners I met were very friendly. Almost all motorhomes here are upper shelf types. Walk to ocean is steep and a good walk down. Good paths along tree line just above beach. Sales people here not pushy when I inquired about purchase opportunity. Worth the drive & visit. Pacific Shores is the nicest resort we have ever stayed in. The facilities are absolutely spotless! They are extremely friendly and it is an absolute pleasure to be there. The guards meet you at the gate so you do not have to exit your coach to check in. The last time we were there they even had a dog show for campers pets. You even get a paper delivered to your rig every morning! The price is high, but it is very worth it to spoil yourself once in a while. You will not regret staying at Pacific Shores. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fabulous park with all amenities plus! Had a gorgeous ocean site with view of lighthouse. Even had quality, free entertainment one night with free drinks. Hope to stay again and will definitely try their affiliated sites around the country. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second visit here. We visited in 2003. It is still one of the nicest RV Parks in America and they have "fixed" our only complaint from our last visit. They now have wi-fi! They restrict guests to motorhomes only but it is truly an enjoyable experience to visit this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very upscale, but friendly. This is one of our favorite places, especially in the rainy season. Everything outside the concrete pads is grass or landscaping, so there's no mud to be tracked into the RV. It has a great clubhouse with a game room, weight room, indoor pool, hot tub, big screen, and fireplace. In the winter when it is raining outside these things are very nice. It's up on a bluff and only a few premium sites have much of an ocean view. Also the stairs down to the beach are steep. But you can get down to the beach and see some interesting tide pools. The restrooms and showers have someone there most of the day keeping them clean. They are immaculate. They also have a nice laundry room. It cost a little more to stay near the clubhouse, but it's worth it. We stayed here twice in 2003 and once in 2004 in an RV (and are going back in June). We camped here in a Motorhome.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give this park a 100. Absolutely one of the best places we've every stayed. A bit more pricey than most parks, but worth every penny. Only complaint is that they have one modem connection and that is in the meeting room. It is quite noisy. Overall, however, nothing but praise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park! Only motorhomes allowed in excess of 25'. Great ocean views, and cool weather. Clubhouse, and concrete pads with grass. Park is fairly new, so trees and shrubs are fairly small. This is an upper class type place, with plenty of fancy motorhomes. We camped here in a camper.

We really like this campground situated in the Newport Marina. Nice walking path around the bay and the OSU facility. Walking distance to the Rogue Brewery and Restaurant. You can hear the seals barking across the bay. This is our second time to camp here and we plan to return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There are wide, paved, level sites, but I have one BIG COMPLAINT. WiFi is $4.99 per day; no weekly rate, just daily and monthly. That's why I rated them a 7. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed in this park three times, this year we stayed a month. We will not be back. Nothing against the park except in August the fruit flies move in & they saturate your RV. Last year we stayed 2 weeks in August, we had to bomb our RV after we left to get rid of them. We were hoping this year they would be gone by September--Wrong! We again are going to have to bomb our coach when we leave to get rid of them. There is a cherry canning factory next door. They also are letting the park run down some. Grass is dead in most spots, weeks taking over, which is a shame as its in a really nice location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As previously described, this is a nice park – with helpful camp host; large, clean (and very inexpensive) laundry room; and level sites – all asphalt (both back-in and pull-through). The park is convenient to the beaches, and was very crowded this time of year. The big difference this year was the weather; it was foggy most of the day (and night), with temperatures in the lower 60s. The park is still very much a large renovated parking lot, so it may not appeal to everyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an expensive park, at least by our standards. Then in addition to the high rates, they have Wi-Fi available for $5 per 24 hours, and charge to use the showers. For the first time ever, we almost got refused the Good Sam rate because we had a membership card and not a recreation card. They are obviously in a choice place because they are nearly full nearly all during the tourist season. The only spot that we could reserve for our travel trailer was one where if you backed in, your utilities were on the wrong side. They have a number of these sites made for pull in frontwards small motor homes. This park is very close to the aquarium and the Hatfield Science Center. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground was very clean and well maintained. Only one shower and toilet in the restroom but it never seemed busy. We were diving and fishing so the multiple fish cleaning stations around the marina were handy. The weather was either misty and cold or very windy so lounging around outside was uncomfortable but that's part of camping on the coast. My only real complaint was no free Wifi. If you want WiFi service you have to pay $5.00/24hrs The park did have a good selection of cable channels. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent parking lot-style park. Clay, the host, is very helpful and gracious. We were camped by the office, where the bathrooms were spotless and had lots of hot water, and a free handicapped-accessible shower. The laundry is the cheapest I've seen at a campground so far--$1 per load, $1 for 45 minutes of drying (high efficiency washers). The wi-fi was fast. We walked across the bridge to Old Town; there's a stairway for pedestrian access. We also walked to Rogue Brewery and its distillery, to the Science Center and around the boats and docks. It's all quite convenient. And it's a really quiet campground, despite being close to 101. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice clean park. You are welcomed by the camp host Clay Moore (sounds like a WWII mine) who gives you the scoop on things to see and good places to eat on the entire coast. There are two lighthouses in Newport. The sites are black top, wide and level. The sites are large enough for a 45' plus a toad. The view is of the historic bridge, bay, and homes on the opposite hill in Newport. The utilities are placed beside the side of the site. There is no night time noise or traffic. The showers and laundry are immaculate. The Hatfield science museum is less than a quarter of a mile, the brew pub is in the same parking lot. We had an enjoyable time here and would certainly recommend it and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a disappointment this was! It is mainly a paved parking lot for RVs who are fishermen. Office staff make it sound like it will be a wonderful and unique experience...it was unique!! This was way overpriced at $36.50 PLUS charged for showers! We have never had to pay for showers so used our own. Their sewer was 30 feet away from our drain as ours is on left rear and their sewer was up in front by drivers side door of our pick-up! Obviously, could not use until I was pulling out to leave and then I blocked others who wanted to go down the narrow drive. Their big claim is "walk to aqaruim and to one brew pub". We didn't, as was a long way. We won't be back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground host greeted us upon our arrival and was very informative. This is a very dog friendly park. It is a very neat and very clean park. The laundry room was perfect and the staff was friendly. It rains daily here so be prepared. You will need water proof clothing. We saw the the sun for approximately 3 hours in the entire week we stayed. It is a little hard to find. Once you are on 101 follow the signs to the Aquarium, and then you will have RV park signs to follow. We did not stay in the annex parking but know it is very muddy. We don't recommend that spot. It is not worth the savings. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great place to stay. The camp host met us shortly after we settled in and gave us a quick review of what to see and do in the local area. The campground is quiet and well laid out next to the Newport Marina. A nature trail is nearby and you can also walk along the marina and fishing pier. Bayfront Harbor is across the bay with restaurants and a working fishing harbor. This is another great place for a walk. There is lots to see and do in this area. Also, the Rogue Brewery is within walking distance. They have a restaurant and pub. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Asphalt, level, pull-thru or back-in sites, green plant area between sites but no picnic table. Wifi worked great, cable TV with 26 channels. Only one (free) shower in the campground located in the registration building. There are five (pay) showers at the Marina building right next door, you need to ask the office for a key-card to gain access to these and they cost 75 cents for 5-minutes. Marina store is close if you need supplies. Oregon Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Center are within walking distance. Two lighthouses are worth seeing; across the Bay at Anchor Harbor you can get close to sealions and do your shoping. We stayed for 3 nights and had a good time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

My review will echo the previous poster's. Would like a little more room between units. We are in site 36 which is a corner site close to the marina. A little more room in it. Excellent Wi-Fi and cell reception. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Perfect for RVers looking for safe, clean, level, no-hassle pull-thrus in South Newport Bay area: 50amps, cable TV, cel and broadband reception. Sparkling new bathrooms/showers/laundry area separate from the heavier used marina facilities. Too closely packed for open fires, tables, but plenty of bbq's and crab boiling pots going...smelled heavenly! Deliciously cool summer base-camp: unhook the tow-car/bikes and explore to your hearts content! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very large with lots of concrete pads with gravel in between sites. The staff was very helpful in directing us to points of interest in Newport. Many sport fishermen were there and from the looks of things, they were reeling in the fish. Many great restaurants near by with the best sea food that we have had on our trip. Great WiFi, very large laundry. Not very good dog walk areas. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall, a very nice park. Level, wide sites, good views of the marina. I had no problem with the wi-fi. I’d give it a 10 if only the cable wasn’t so skimpy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Like most of the other reviewers, I found this to be a very good park. Others have commented on the facilities. Although I do not expect to have a pool on the Oregon coast, some sort of recreational facilities would have been nice - playground, v-ball net, horseshoes. Cable is only 25 channels and the WIFI, as mentioned, was not reliable. In nice weather and for those who can, walking across the bridge to town (about half an hour) is great. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has three different areas. There is the new park, the old park which they call the RV Annex, and a paved parking lot for dry camping. This review is for the new park. Streets and sites are paved, level and big rig friendly. It is like a big parking lot. The landscaping is not being maintained and the weeds are taking over. I tried to use the wifi and never could get it to work. The park is overpriced for what you get. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not a bad park for the money, but there is only one toilet and 1 shower in the rest room, yet there where 7 washers and dryers. When I asked about the wireless the check in gal said it has been a problem and we don't talk about it. I tried it and it did work. If you have a rear holding tank, bring a lot of sewer hose. We camped in the old park. The newer section rates ranged from $28 to $40. There was a dry camping section also available to $17. Good Sam was accepted only in the newer section. The park is within walking distance of the aquarium, which is a must see in Newport. A free shuttle that takes you into Newport stops here and runs throughout the day. This is one of those Parks that is well run and has a lot to offer. Immaculate rest rooms and 2 great laundries, manicured RV sites - very close to the waterfront. Mostly pull thrus, paved roads and pads, landscaping between sites with wood chips around the bushes etc. We are here now and simply enjoying the area and the Park. It is situated so close to so many tourist activities, you can be busy every minute. There is a shuttle that comes to the Park that takes you to Newport. Being at the Marina has a lot of charm. There are two rv parks here - one is the older park, called the Annex. The Park we are staying in is the new Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a relatively new park, located in the marina run by the Port of Newport on the south side of Yaquina Bay. It is all asphalt, with some landscaping and virtually no shade trees between sites. There are a large number of pull-throughs and back-in sites – not overly generous in size, but certainly adequate. With the customary winds off the Pacific Ocean, the climate is temperate and shade trees are usually not necessary. The showers and laundry room are very clean, and up-to-date. WiFi is available (although it had problems when we were here), and the cable TV connection is great. The Rogue Nation brewery, with pub, and distillery, with bar, are within walking distance and worth a visit. The Yaquina Head lighthouse is just north of Newport, and worth a visit. All in all, this is an absolutely beautiful area with much to do while here. We camped 3 nights with no pets. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A great location, easy in and out, great people in the office. We were able to get a spot with short notice. Decided to stay an extra four days as a week gives you one day free. (fee entered is for a week. Can't find receipt so think this is what it averaged for staying seven days). Park has been redone by the city and it is great. Nice view of the bridge and bay. Most lots have new bark, but was sad to see the weeds not taken care of as it is such a nice park and just that little extra maintenance would be rated #10. Only one shower, but exceptionally clean. Was told there are more showers in a building at the marina. Laundry extra clean and only $1.00. Will always try to get in here when passing thru... We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good location across street from the Aquarium and down the block from Marine Science Center. Sites overlook the Newport marina, Newport bay and the bridge. All blacktop park with small landscaped areas in-between sites. Clean park with easy in and out. Only real negative is the poor WiFi and there is no clubhouse to get better reception. Would stay here again if passing through Newport. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful, clean, NEW park. Sites are all paved and LEVEL! Well lit, and easy to use hookups. Cable TV was excellent,and WiFi was free, and easy to use anywhere in the park. Staff friendly, and helpful. Rogue Brewery and Brew Pub just across the parking lot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Try to get site with water view. If you do not have a toad, I would not suggest you drive into waterfront Newport (a bit too far to walk). The road is too steep and narrow for the average MH driver with no parking for a large rig in town. The RV park itself is a large, flat, asphalt covered lot with no shade trees, and unfortunately no picnic tables either. The $33 charge was a bit steep for what you got. Nice park, but kind of expensive, and you have to pay to use the showers, a feature I never appreciate. Wi-Fi and Cable TV comes with the site, which is nice. The park was recently redone, they now have a bunch of pull throughs and the spots are asphalt. They may have more than 111 sites now. Nice place, lots to do in the area. We stayed in the old rv park annex as they are in the process of finishing up a brand new section close to the water. This is slated to open the end of May and will have full h/ups, wi-fi, satellite cable and nice large paved sites with landscaping. There will also be a dry-camp overflow area. It is right next to the Oregon Aquarium and the Rogue Brewery and an easy trip over the bridge to Newport. I gave it the rating I did because the place will be awesome after they finish and then rehab the annex part also. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A large very busy Oregon State Park. No full hook-ups, but water and electricity sites available. Oregon State Parks have moved all their refuse containers to a central location. A short walk to the beach. As often happens the fog was in and visibility was very restricted. Not a lot of screening between sites. Weather was nice and cool after the heat in the interior. The pads were paved and very close to level. What staff we contacted were very nice. The bugs were a bit bad when you walked down towards the beach. Would stay here again. Found a nice seafood restaurant in Newport called Life Oceans. Do not take a large RV into old town Newport! $6.00 reservation fee for online reservations. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We loved South Beach State Park! Nice sites, but make sure you do your homework and reserve ahead of time. The sites are all back-in and some of our neighbors with really large rigs had difficulty getting into theirs. Ours was 50 feet long with plenty of space for our three fold out tent beds. You are within walking distance to the beach, about one-half mile one way through beautiful dunes. Very close to Newport and the Aquarium, as well as an easy drive up to Lincoln City and the Outlet Mall! Only complaint would be the showers. Clean, but some in our loop had scalding hot water while the one right next to it had freezing cold. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a big state park. We were in the G loop and the sites are quite long. We did have a little trouble maneuvering our big rig into the site since the roads are narrow and access to sites are close together. It was a little noisy with all the kids, but that is to be expected during the summer. It was quite a walk to the beach from our site, so we just drove to the parking lot near the beach access. A beautiful park. We had a site on the outside ring. The site wide enough, had trees, and easy to get in and out of. It was convenient to the restrooms. A quiet park. A large well used park. Well laid out with large area for each site. The Jetty trail is a bonus for walking or biking. Yurts are available for those who may be interested. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park. The sites are a bit close together. The restrooms were old style. Nice , free showers. The beach is about a 1/4 mile walk from the A loop. We noted that because there are not sewer hookups in sites, the line at the dump station was usually long at check out time. Nice staff. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice state park campground. We did not have reservations so we were lucky to get in for two nights. Highly recommend reservations in the summer. Campsite was tucked into the trees, very cool and relaxing atmosphere. Paved trails to the beach (1/4 mile) and several paved bike trails in addition to the paved roads in the campground. This is a family campground so you need to expect young kids playing, running and biking, but they were never roudy or out of control. Close to Newport. Camp hosts and volunteers were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All the Oregon State parks we have seen are great! South beach is certainly right up there. Close to the beach, tons of hiking and biking trails, Newport is a great town. The rangers are friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Location is excellent. Families are welcomed and take advantage of the campgrounds facilities. An easy walk to the beach, pit fires and cabins are available. Some sites are tight to get into, so if you reserve over the net, be selective. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Shade trees and short walk to very large beach. Great trails to take walks on. No privacy at sites. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

The only trash was quite far and only at the entrance to the park. The mosquitoes on the trail to the beach were bad. The sewer dump area was very busy and not real convenient. TV antenna reception was very poor. The sites were level and clean. There was a lot of grassy space for the kids to play. There was a 1.5 mile walking trail to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I would camp there again but more prepared for the trash, sewer, and TV issues. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you like camping on sand and dead grass this is for you. The pictures on the internet definitely were taken in a wet year. Close to the beach. Campsites are close together with little privacy. A million kids riding on all the narrow paved roads. I guess this would be a good campground if you had small kids since they would have plenty of new friends.The main roads are too narrow for 2 rv's to pass little lone the walking and bike traffic. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice place to stay. Nearly every site has some shade, though some have more than others. The sites are quite level and easy to get into. The hookups were also in good shape. Campsites are dirt except where you park your rig. Dump station and garbage is near the park ranger entrance. Access to the beach was an easy .5 mile walk. Some mosquitos in the camp but even more in the bushes as you walk to the beach. Access to the aquarium and other coastal attractions is great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice campground. Would recommend that you make reservations though, even though it's very large, it fills up. The road throughout is paved, and the sites are easy to get in and out. Nice wide road, and the sites have bushes/trees/foliage between so you have a little privacy (in most sites). The only thing we thought was odd was that there were no garbage receptacles, and noticed there is a large garbage area as you leave the park. Maybe they have problems with critters rummaging through the garbage so they had to put it all in one area. The dump station is very easy access. The only negative thing was that it was very dry when we were there (in July), and the area around the units were not grass or gravel, but dirt. If a wind gust came up it would whip dirt all around. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
