New Camp Ground. Mostly Construction Workers. We Stayed Three Nights. 45 Miles to
Charleston, SC Four Minutes to the Lakes We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are full-time RV'ers and travel for work. The main reason for this rating is we arrived around 8:30 pm, after dark, to find the entrance impossible to see due to lack of lights and the addition of crushed asphalt. This campground is in the country and turning around is not an option. Once we got in the campground, we found no maps or instructions for late arrivals. The phone numbers posted on the door were useless as there was no cell coverage. No campground personnel were to be found. We stumbled around the park in the car to try and find a site we could fit in, not easy again due to the black crushed asphalt and poor lighting. When we checked in the next morning, the staff was rather gruff and unhelpful. Did not use the bath facilities, but they appear to be new. It is a quiet and peaceful setting with docks that you can fish from or enjoy the water. The crushed asphalt tracks terribly and they have a resident Canadian Goose who has injured wings that will drive you a little nuts. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Outstanding park with three boat landings, several docks for fishing, lots of trees, family oriented area great for fishing and relaxing. Staff and personnel at the site are always willing to help. Highly recommended for a stay on Lake Moultrie. Cable, phone, modem etc. available for more permanent stays only. There are no bath facilities or designated swimming areas. All campers in the site are larger with their own facilities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a smaller mainly fish camp and destination for getaway gatherings. Lots of personnal service and help. The scenery is beautiful as the setting is on a large cove of Lake Moultrie, with lots of bird life. They have two boat launches and wet moorage with a fishing pier. Not much for kids. No rest rooms or showers but they have laundry. Great fishing and a relaxing place. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
