This was an overnight stop for us on our way home from south Texas. We pulled in at 7:30 pm. The office was closed and there were no registration forms in the box. We picked a site that looked fairly level. It wasn't. All grass sites. The "paved" road was in very poor shape. The bathrooms & showers were very primitive and not very clean. We used electric only, and were up and on our way by 7:30 a.m. Someone dropped by & left a registration form on our steps while we were in the bathrooms. We never saw a living person while there. This is a good example of why people choose to sleep over at Wal Marts or truckstops. We thought $10 would have been a fair price for sleeping there. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We came here on a recommendation from another RVer that used to frequent Woodsy Hollow. It was not as nice as the recommendation or as the web site shows. The campground is mainly full time folks with lots of junk sitting around. The campground seems to have a few sites that they keep for recreational users. They have a nice area that a group had reserved and stayed together. A few sites have a view of the private lake. Roads were dusty and frequently traveled. Bathrooms were fair/poor in repair and cleanliness. They did have kayak and paddle boats for rent, rec room, a good little playground, and a pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'm sure it was a good campground at one time, now catering to full time residents. We do not plan to return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
