Afterthought to a really large, really nice marina. Absolutely no reservations. No map
available at campsite after marina office closes. You just wander around in the dark and try to find a site you can fit in. Contrary to impression given by web page, less than 10 sites are full hookup, and they are randomly scattered throughout park. Odds are tent campers will be camped on the sewer sites. Most sites unlevel; roads are narrow and winding. One shower for entire park, and it is in one of two bathrooms. Eisenhower State Park or Preston Point COE park much nicer for the money. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean, quiet and out of the way located off Highway 120 just west of Pottsboro. Close to Mill Creek Marina and several nice restaurants. Beautiful place to camp with a nice breeze off the lake. Also has cabins for rent and a place to launch boats and jet skis. This is our second time to visit this campground. We loved it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I love COE campgrounds because they usually well maintained and easy to maneuver. This one is beginning to show some serious signs of age and is in need of TLC. The main road to the gate is bad enough, but the interior road is almost to the point of falling apart. The sites are still nice enough, but need some updating, cleaning and re-levelling. If you have a rig larger than 30' you probably want to stay with sites #34,#35,#37 and #38 only. The workampers at the park are among the very best and will make you feel welcome. It is very quiet on a peninsula at Lake Texoma and enjoyable. I would camp here again, however, the state park nearby is in much better condition and has full hookups. Also be careful when exiting the park as there is a lot of junky vehicles and trailers parked just outside the gate and they block you view of oncoming traffic from the north. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
