I don't know why "family friendly" is checked off "no." My family found this one of the friendliest parks we have stayed in and we have been camping since June 30 in 36 states and 2 provinces, so far. There is excellent fishing (free) for the kids at a choice of docks and wharfs. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The site, bathroom/showers, office and grounds were squeaky clean! We have only stayed at two other RV resorts in the country that compare: a big rig park in Newport, Oregon and Fort Wilderness at Disney World. We will certainly be back to Tiki Tom's just to remember the good time we had there and at Galveston Beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have lived at Tiki Tom’s for 2 years. The park is a tight knit community with full-timers, weekenders, park hosts, managers, and staff. I have lived in several RV parks and visited many others. Tiki Tom’s is far above average, bordering on exceptional. The facilities are clean and well lighted. Two private bathrooms have large showers and are cleaned daily. I feel safe in the park and enjoy it’s proximity away from traffic, but close to shopping and restaurants. I’m saddened that I’m moving to a new park and can only hope for similar commitment to community, safety, and overall cleanliness. Happy camping at Tiki. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a bipolar campground: some very good and some not so good. The good, is a very scenic ocean view on the water looking west for great sunsets. Most sites have new cement pads with full hook-ups and easy access. Ours was gravel (no reduction in price) and was not good for a heavy rig such as our 40 ft motorhome. The location is great for Galveston with easy access to the main highway into town only 3 miles away. Two 250 foot fishing piers are part of this CG. There is no beach or swimming as the waters edge is wetlands. Nice new and clean bath house called the club house. On the flip side, the park has a very strange layout with one third of the sites more than a block away from the main campground and along a major frontage road. This would be similar to parking spaces on the side of the road. At the least, it presents a security issue and for any family with kids, it is a dangerous situation. Then there is the constant traffic, noise both from the more local frontage road 30 feet from the rig, and the multi-lane highway 200 yards beyond. Not to be outdone, there is the train on the other side of the highway which blows it's horn well into the night, every night. Bottom line, when looking at the sunset out the front window, all is beautiful, but walk out the RV door look 180 degrees way from the water and there are hazards and noise everywhere. They do have interior sides without the road hazard, but you'll have to decide what's important. We camped here in a Motorhome.
