Check in at the hotel which, by the way, was actually 2 large buildings and very nice. You have to drive down very narrow and steep road to get to the site. After arriving, you feel like you are in a bowl and surrounded by hills. Sites have picnic tables and concrete slabs. Slabs are located such that they are not usable after pulling forward enough to hook up to water, power and sewer unless you have a rear door. The Campground advertises Wi-Fi but it is NOT available at the RV site. When asked about Wi-Fi, I was told that I would have to come to the lobby to connect. It is a long, steep walk unless you drive. They offer no discounts except KOA. There are no TV signals available and no cable hookups. We camped here with a fifth wheel and would only stay here if we could not find another place. Very pricey for a no-frills campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yes this park is on the expensive side, particularly for Father's Day weekend. But if you read this or go to the KOA website you know that before you come. We loved it & would have rated at 10 if not for the price. Bathrooms are immaculate. Close to the expressway without the expressway noise and dirt. Nice grassy flat sites with concrete place for the picnic table. Pretty generous area as compard to most RVparks. We had no problem with internet & we were camped just about as far from the office as we could get. Close to Sutton Lake which is one of the nicest lakes in the country. At our site we had a hard time picking up Direct Tv but we don't care about that & noted in another section there was no problem. You check in at the Days hotel and have use of those ammenities & there is a free ice machine in Kampground building The Days Hotel also has a good Sunday brunch On the weekend we visited there was live music at th ampitheater. The concert was fun & over by 930. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fine stop over campground while traveling through WV on I-79. Otherwise, it is too expensive for what it offers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We used this park as a stop over on our way back to Ontario. We found it very pricey and we could not access the wireless from our site. It is a clean, well maintained park, but roads are steep and narrow. We would use this park again as there are not many RV parks in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Since this campground has become a KOA the price has increased but the amenities have not. There is no cable TV and reception over the air is extremely limited. The sites are not level and the roads are very narrow. The only amenities available belong to the hotel which is located in front of this campground. It is very over-priced. There is a concrete patio on the gravel site, but the grassy area is very unkempt. If you are here when it rains, expect mud. Sites are larger than your typical KOA, but not as nicely kept. Since there are not many options in the area, we guess they can name their price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

All of the reviews posted are not the problem here, the problem lies in the city (town) that is given as it's (the parks) location. The location listed is Sutton, WV. but, the actual location is up the freeway a short distance in the town of Flatwood, WV. I don't understand how the location name mistake came about but the real location should be changed. As reference please see the Trailer Life 2009 Campground directory, page 1330, center page under "Flatwoods." We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on Jan 1st. while traveling back home. This has to be one of the nicest, best equipped campgrounds we have ever stayed in. When you arrive, you check in at the hotel front desk and then drive to your assigned site. All sites are full hookup and fairly level. All sites have a concrete pad with picnic table and fire ring. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I found this place to be a real nice campground. We stopped overnight on a Saturday and there was no crowd. It's part of the hotel but it is way away and is secluded. The restrooms are not the most convenient. You can swim in the hotel pool if you desire. Most of the sites are level. It was more than I expected for an overnight stop. Very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground is really over-priced for amenities provided. Most camp sites are not close to showers/restrooms. All activities are up the hill (big hill)at the hotel. There's no cable TV hookup, we could barely watch one TV station using antenna. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground, especially for an overnight stop. Park is adjacent to Days Hotel, but campground secluded from Hotel area. Amphitheater may be noisy and crowd campground when there is a program, but we stayed here on a week night and found the campground to be quiet, good wireless internet, sites nice size, pet friendly, good water, sewer, electric. Would stay here again if passing through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park. Every lot has a concrete pad. Our picnic table was broken and the staff promptly switched it out. The Mountain Lakes Amphitheater is a part of this park and had weekend concerts. We could hardly hear the concert from our site, which was in the Ballpark section. This was a great section but had a steep incline when leaving the area. We were able to get Wi-Fi outside our travel trailer, but not inside. You can hardly hear the interstate from the camp. The pool (part of the Days Hotel adjacent to the site) was not crowded and very clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here 1 night while passing through on vacation. The campground was clean but had no shade. You had to go up the hill to the pools which were nice. The pools, indoor and out, were located at the Days Hotel. Small playground for children. Some sites appeared to be very unlevel, ours was not to bad. Bathrooms were clean. small game room. All baths and game room were behind a locked door with entry pass given at check-in. I would stay here again when in area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We overnighted here on a Saturday. This is now a KOA campground - Flatwoods KOA. When I made my reservation I was informed that there was a concert that night in the attached outdoor concert pavilion and there might be some noise. The campground is part of a hotel that sits on top of the hill while the campground is below. The pools (indoor / outdoor and exercise room is attached to the hotel. If you want to use them you must walk a rather steep hill or drive back up. The registration is done at the hotel registration desk. The staff was courteous but having to park at the hotel and then navigate the hotel parking lot can be tight for larger rigs. The concert noise did not bother us at all but they allowed concert goers to park down in the campground. This made getting into my pull through site somewhat difficult as cars were parked on the access road. The concert was over and most people gone by 10pm. The bathrooms and showers required an access code to enter (provided at registration)and were very clean. There was stagnant sewage smelling water all around my site. On of the KOA workers stopped and I asked if this was sewage and he claimed that they had had considerable amount of rain. If this is true then they need to address drainage. For an overnight stop this campground worked out well and I probably would stop again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We didn't use the bathroom, so we may have rated it a little higher if we'd gone and it was clean. The relationship of the campground to the hotel was a little different at first, but it gave us the use of the indoor pool, and since it was cool and rainy the day we arrived we wouldn't have been able to use an outdoor pool (which is also available). The sites are nicely spaced up the hillside. The play area for the kids was older equipment and not as nice as some. It was quiet and nice for a campground this close to a highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground now a KOA. Had visited in 2007-not a KOa. Saw no difference. Biggest problem is in checking in-Done in Hotel lobby.At our visit there was a convention/meeting in Hotel. People more interested in Hotel guests. Will probably return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I decided to stay here for a night en route to Kentucky - my first solo outing towing my car with our RV. I based my choice on the other reviewers' comments about ease of access (compared to another campground I was considering along the route). A primary goal was to *not* have to unhitch the car on this stopover. My GPS had me make a wrong turn at the stoplight near the hotel, but other than that, I was able to get up the hill and into a campsite (after the requisite stop at the Day Hotel's registration desk) without any problems. I arrived just before nightfall - and was very glad I did. I'm not sure how easy it would have been to navigate into my spot in the dark, as the narrow road into the campground itself wasn't well lit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We didnt stay here, but drove through to check it out. it is behind the Days Hotel (not Days Inn), so don't let that confuse you. It is up a steep hill, and in behind the hotel. Looks nice as the sites have a pad; but are gravel and some looked not quite level but workable. It has a nice ampitheater and the grounds are nice. The roads are just a tad narrow, but it looks like they have it laid out so everyone is going one way. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here if in the area. Would be a great stop for a nite or 2. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great stopping point for traveling! Right off the Interstate and well priced. Its is probably one of the best combinations of price and a nice campground. There is not much to do, but everything was new and clean and the WiFi worked well, although there was no cable TV. Our site was level and we would use it again if coming through the area. Nice for a quick stopover. Beautiful new shower/bathroom area. Nice amphitheatre with music entertainment. Site was easy to get to and fairly level. Because it's on a hillside it's not 'perfect' but not bad either. We were just doing a sleep stop on our way home. Days Inn connection is a nice touch. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

New RV Park, well designed. Our second overnight stop here. Will continue to use as overnight stop in this area. When pull thrus are added finish gravel and/or paved it will be excellent. I like the sight selection method which allows you to pick the best available. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This newer park located behind the local Days Inn, which allows campers to use its amenities, is clean and modern. The campground is terraced along the mountainside, and therefore the sites are not level. The mountain views and trees are beautiful. They have recently opened an amphitheater and covered picnic area for groups. The TV reception is terrible. . . no cable available. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Second time this month we stayed at Flatwoods. We even drove out of our way to stay the second time. We will continue to keep this campground on the top of our list as it has everything we are looking for. The peacefulness and the private feeling out weighed the cost. Most beautiful during a thunder storm. I would like to keep this campground a secret. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the best kept secret in West Virginia. The park is ultra modern, with beautiful bath room-shower and laundry facilities. Although there are only 3 bathrooms and 2 showers for each, men and women, We never encountered a problem with occupied facilities. If necessary, one can use all the facilities in the hotel, including in and outdoor pools, sauna, exercise room, free internet access etc. The staff, whether it be maintenance or hotel reception, was friendly, helpful, pleasant and professional. We had the privilege to meet the owners of the property, and were amazed about the friendliness and down to earth attitude. They made us feel like part of the family! We stayed there for almost 2 weeks, and are planning to go back very shortly. We recommend this place to anyone with high standards. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a new park that opened late 2005. All roads into and inside park are blacktop. All sites are gravel and a number are long. Some sites are not level. All sites have 20/30/50 amp power, W, S, with cement patios. Free WiFi working but signal level was very weak. You have a pool to use at hotel. Park sits in valley at rear of Days Inn. Cell phone & sat. system worked well here. Rates are $30.00 but seniors and Good Sams rated are $27.00. No road noise and no playground equipment for kids. Lots of trees in park but not one tree to park under. Stay on gravel in sites or you may sink into the ground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nearly new Park. WiFi much improved since last year and have a strong signal through-out the Park. Bathrooms were very clean, but only 2 M & 2 F showers for entire Park. Long walk up & down a hill to get to them. Roads are a bit narrow & corners a bit sharp for the advertised 70' RV parking! Staff helpful and pleasant. You check in & go pick where you want to park your rig. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful, shaded RV park that is new at this review. They are building an outdoor theator. Services are in the Days Inn Motel at the top of the hill. Clerks were friendly, although not especially helpful. You pick your own site, as available. Park is clean and well kept. Good mountain hiking trails available. We'll go back. Narrow paved roads. (Flyer says "WIDE paved roads!) Bathrooms & showers are up a big hill in the Motel. Get 1 channel on your antenna, no cable. Free Wifi is available, but really not in the RV park. It's in the Motel. (I got a "low" signal with an external antenna. ) Phone service is poor, none on Cingular). DO NOT get off the crushed stone or pavement this time of year, or you will sink! They hand you a reciept & tell you to just go pick a site. No information given. It is fairly new, but it needs some attention before we would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
