Nice and quiet, surrounding buildings block some wind. Utilities and WiFi worked well. There are NO bathrooms or showers, so you must be self-contained. Restaurants, gas and markets close by, but were closed on Sunday.
The rate reflects our Passport America discount. The view out our camper window was great, the campground quiet, and the staff friendly and helpful. The site was plenty long for our class C motor home and trailer. The showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. The cable worked well and Wi-Fi had reasonable speed and signal strength. We would stay here again.
While you cannot beat the price, there are no hook-ups and no services available here. There are bathrooms, but they were heavily used by both campers and locals, so although cleaned daily were less than sparkling. The listing states there is a dump station and potable water, unfortunately the rangers said there was a problem with the well so no potable water was available. There was water for sale at the local market. You must be self-contained and well stocked. The canyon drives and tours made it well worthwhile, simply spectacular.
Owners very friendly and helpful, showers clean with great pressure and plenty of hot water. We were told that if we paid for 3 nights the fourth night was free (I don't know if this is always available).
The new owners, are very nice and working to restore and improve the campgrounds. Easy to get to just off Interstate 10, Florida Springs is a great layover on your way to New Orleans. Although the bathrooms are small you get a real bath tub to soak in or a nice little swimming pound if you prefer. Full hook ups, low price, shady lots with room to maneuver, Wi-Fi, Cable TV, camp store with cheap movie rentals, a short walk to the Waffle House and super nice owners makes this small, quiet, homely RV park a nice respite from the road.
