The RV park does have a lot of permanent residents and just a few temporary RVers. We stayed 1 night just passing through. The description in Passport America stated that bathrooms were available: however they are not mainly for our use. The bathrooms had to be unlocked for us and were not that clean. The staff stated that Gulfport requires all RVs to be self-contained so they don't have to offer bathrooms. The site we stayed on was paved and really nice. The price is PA rate.
Description of RV park on website is overly-exaggerated. Park does have a security gate - being that it does have a lot of permanent residents. It has about 30 sites that are reserved for temporary visitors. You have to check in at the convenience store located on the campground. Staff is friendly. Store is somewhat rundown. Our site was grassy, and after the rains got very muddy. Cable did not work. The cap on the sewer line was covered in tree and grass debris which leads me to believe that not too many temporary visitors come this way. The comfort station located close to our site was located in a very old building and not very clean. We stayed for 3 days during the 4th of July weekend. The park does have a nice large pool and offered activities for the kids.
We stayed one night ($21 PA rate) and wished we had time to stay longer. Park staff friendly. Park had shaded and unshaded sites with beautiful views of the lake. Sites were grass and gravel but had a concrete slab with picnic table. Very clean campground. The park layout excellent - the setup was such that RV front doors face each other (your sewer hookup is next to your neighbor's sewer hookup and not at your front door). Park has small convenience store, restaurant, pool, and playground. Breakfast very reasonably priced - and home fries very delicious! Private bathrooms with showers very clean. Would stay here again.
Park is about 3 blocks from French Quarter - very convenient. It would seem that the park is located close to a bad part of town - but no problems walking to the French Quarter. All sites paved - no shade though. The park is just off a major highway with high walls and a Coded Security fence. Stayed 4 nights (rate $69 -paid $34.50 PA 1 night only). Clean bathrooms and showers. Very nice rec room, exercise room and pool. Park staff very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
We got lost using GPS - camp owner Ron came for us! Very clean campsite with paved sites and plenty of room. Small trees have not yet provided much shade. Bathrooms and showers very clean. Nice pool. Campground has a small pond with a family of ducks walking around the park. Owner has to be one of the nicest guys I have met! We would definitely stay her again.
