This campground is a little jewel, a peaceful oasis of flowers, wooded walking paths, shade trees, large grassy sites, and paved roads. It is meticulously groomed, guests are invited to stroll the grounds and enjoy the parklike setting. Benches and extra picnic tables are placed here and there along the perimeter paths and there is a tranquil pond and paddle boats. Easy access from Route 1 and just across the border from Canada. No pool but a nice playground for the kids and paved interior roads for bike riding. No problem with parking large truck and 5th wheel with slides. Friendly owners. We would definitely stay here again!
We did not find Pleasant Hill to be a particularly pleasant place to stay. Arrived on a very hot day, assigned to a site with 30 amp service. Voltage was so low that we were unable to use A/C without danger of damaging the compressor. Nor could we use the microwave. Neighbors told us that power problems on particular sites have been long standing, however, we were not informed of this at check in. Requested and received refund for 2nd night (one miserable night was enough!) but owner was not apologetic or very nice about it - acted as if it was "our fault" that site was not adequate! Beware of low voltage at this park.
Beautiful views overlooking St. Andrews, New Brunswick and Passamaquoddy Bay! Just off of scenic Rt. 1, close to Canadian border at Calais. Second season with new owners, they were very courteous and helpful. Small camp store for milk & bread etc. Playground & pool for kids/grands. We camped here in July of 2005 in 36' 5th wheel with 3 slides and a Ford 450 dually, no problem with rig size or parking.
