Nice campground with lots to do. We stayed on one of their Halloween weekends and it was great. They had lots of planned activities for kids including making "edible crafts" and trick or treating through the campground. Only negative was we went for the Sunday morning pancake breakfast...so did the rest of the campground! They were not probably staffed to handle the volume of people. We waited over an hour for pancakes! Next time we'll make our own! But overall it was a great experience and we are already planning to go back next Halloween.
Nice campground. Sites are nice and everything was clean and well maintained. We were there in early May, so the pool was not open yet, but it looked nice too. The camp store has a good selection of the usual stuff, plus Hershey merchandise. There is a free shuttle bus which runs between the campground and Hershey Park every 1/2 hour which is very nice! Drops you off right at the park entrance. The only negative is that there is a train track adjacent to the campground, where freight trains run frequently. (even through the night!) It didn't bother us too much, but if you are sensitive to noise, could be a problem, especially sights near the tracks.
White Oak Campground is an ok campground. Nothing inherently bad about it, but nothing particularly great either. It is secluded & quiet. Most sites have shade from trees. Not alot to do at the campground. There are 2 small basic playgrounds for kids and a small arcade. On Saturday nights, they do have an acoustic jam session in a room adjacent to the camp store. (Country/bluegrass/gospel) Campers are welcome to join in, so if you're a musician or like this type of music, could be fun. (I personally did not go) My biggest negative is that the bath house is not heated. We were there on an unseasonably cold weekend in mid-April, so it was not pleasant. Strasburg & neighboring towns do have lots to do, but don't expect to find much right at the campground.
