We camped here in a 37 footer using Good Sam's membership and had no problems getting into our pull through site. Has gravel sites and no shade trees. We camped here only for an overnight stay with 4 kids. The staff in the office was very friendly and accommodating. After a long drive, the kids were ready to swim. We got to the pool with our 11 month old all ready to swim and was informed that he was not allowed to be in the pool even in a swim diaper due to the hygiene reasons. Upon getting to the pool there was a sign that he was NOT even allowed in the pool area. It would have been nice to know prior to getting him ready to go swim and walking up to the pool. We took him in his stroller and let him watch his siblings swim regardless and they had a good time in the pool. The pool area was nice with shade and tables and chairs to sit at. This campground was great for an overnight stay but I wouldn't stay here for extended periods of time especially with children. Close to town for restaurants and shopping needs.
We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way home from FL. Spacious between sites and no problems getting in to our pull through area. The pool was very nice and big, but under trees so several big leaves in the pool, but it didn't stop our kids from having fun. It was an excellent place for an overnight stay but I do not think we would camp here for extended periods especially since we had 4 kids with us. The only activity for them to do was the pool. The restrooms by the pool were very clean as they were busy cleaning them when we were at the pool.
We stayed here for 10 days to visit my mother-in-law who lives close by with 4 kids. We were right in the middle of all of Florida's great attractions and the longest distance we drove was 2 hours to Daytona beach and it was over an hour to drive to Disney World, Sea World, etc., but we don't mind driving distances for attractions. Everyone was friendly here and the pool was great in the hot days and we were usually the only ones at the pool. Nice clean laundry room and restrooms. The campground is right on the lake so we could walk down and fish or just go check out the alligators. The only thing we can say is the country store does not have much. It is like a post office but they do sell ice. But there is a 7-11 right down the road from this campground so no big problem. The office is only open until 3 p.m. and closed on Sundays but there is security that patrols the grounds through the day and night hours. Most of the people live on the property but we did see a few come in for over night stays and then they were gone the next day. We had a secluded site majority of our stay with no neighbors right next to our site which we enjoyed!! We had such a great time here and hope to return soon!!!
We love this campground and go several times a year as it is far enough away from home but still close! Very nice campground with fun weekend activities and nice friendly staff. Great country store for all your needs and also serve pizza right to your site which our kids enjoy! The pool in the past had paint flaking off the sides of the pool but appeared to be cleaner when we visited this year. Highly recommend this campground and they also have cabins and tent sites available!
We enjoy this campground and go yearly (sometimes several visits in a year's time). It is out of the city but close enough for a quick drive to the attractions of the Arch, St Louis zoo, Six Flags, etc. We really enjoy this campground. The only problem we had this year was a neighbor with a loud barking dog early in the morning, waking our 10 month old and he barked a LOT without the owners saying anything. They have a nice pool and friendly staff with a nice country store for any needs you might have. The weekend activities are fun as well! Highly recommend this campground. It's about a 40 minute drive to the St Louis Zoo.
