We became full time rvers this year and this was our 5th month choice. Wow! What a treat. The owner welcomed us "home" upon arrival. Spacious level gravel site. Did I say spacious? The grounds are luscious and beautiful. All kinds of grasses, loads of sunflowers and even a organic garden that we were told we could pick from. The owners really have done a great job with this serene location. Water was good with nice pressure. Dish satellite available at most sites. Wi-Fi was good. A stream runs next to the grounds and there is also a beautiful pond. Beautiful! They have the Highland Jam every August and as a player, it was one of the reasons we selected this for our stay for a month. I have never attended a better run festival in my life. We heard some great musicianship while making many friends with no troubles whatsoever. One thing that really surprised us was that the day after the festival, the campground did not show any signs of a festival. This attests to the friends of the owners which are many. I am proud to say that the owners are now on our true friends list and we will be returning before the next festival. We already booked our site for next year's festival.
This campground got some bad reviews from when previous owners had it. New owner does everything to make one feel welcome. We had a parallel river front site and it was great. The site could use more stone. I require Internet for work and the cable based Wi-Fi was excellent. We will be back next year again for a month because it is all about location, location, location.
Great new owners and staff. We stayed for a month on business and got the typical monthly rate site. Bathrooms, showers and laundry were cleaner than clean. The cable was poor, so we purchased a satellite system. I need Wifi for business. After several attempts to get their provider to fix it, we had Internet access-but it was slow as a turtle. I have to mention the staff again. They rocked.
Why can't all be like this? Because then this place wouldn't be special. If you read the other reviews you already know the owners are great, the place is manicured and clean, it is very quiet (and I am a musician so I am not a quiet freak) and we have a a true babbling brook next to our bedroom window. Our site was 11 and in this area the RVs are parked nose to rear so you never have a neighbor outside your window. We had turkeys in our picnic area the first morning we woke up. We are full-timers, but I still work from "home" and Internet is business critical. The wi-fi smokes. This is better than any park we visited. Our Dish satellite system works fine and I was told Direct TV works, as well. My company AT&T phone does not work, but our Verizon iPhones work with occasional dropped calls. Still not enough to lower the 5 star rating. While we have stayed many places before, this is only our 2nd stay since full-timing. We are doing month long stays in order to accommodate my business needs. Today was the first time we agreed we are happy with life on what we call our Magical Mystery Tour. We will always return here when in the area.
