Our GPS led us astray on the park we wanted to stay at so it came down to any port in a storm because we were tired.Typical outdated overpriced KOA.I can't see for the life of me where KOA'S think they are worth almost twice what other parks charge.
Nice clean, modern park but overpriced. Big rig access better suited for motorhomes due to placement of utilities (mid point of site). This would only be a problem if park was full. We were able to park at an angle and reach utilities but stuck out in a thankfully wide exit road. Cable TV is pretty sparse considering cost of the sites, and there is no Wi-Fi. Verizon air card is weak but AT&T phone strong. Nice clean shower/restroom. We would probably stay here again despite the high cost for what you get.
As stated before the nice people running this park almost make you feel guilty for a negative review but RVers need to know certain things. First, it is way way out of town which makes you want something to make the drive worth it. It's not. Utilities are oddly placed making extensions for all of them necessary. Our Verizon air card was somewhat slow but usable, & our AT&T phone was strong. I would not pay full price, and PPA rate is a lot considering how far out of the way it is. Did have a excellent cheeseburger in the restaurant/bar. Probably would look for something else next time
Nice place for a night or two. Good level cement pads but if you are pulling a fifth wheel and want to stay hooked up bring extra electrical cable and hoses as the power pedestal and water hook up are closer to the front of the site than the back. Dog rules are somewhat restrictive although I can understand it is hard to keep a green lawn in the desert. Verizon air card was strong as was AT&T phone. Park wi-fi is decent as were the showers/restrooms. We were too tired to try the casino but maybe next time. We would stay here again.
Not many reasonably priced parks in this area. We were in the back of the park amongst the permanent residents, which was ok but just not worth what we paid. Verizon air card was strong as was T-Mobile and AT&T phone. Sites are shady but a little tight.
Nice place to stay for a couple days.Wi-Fi was weak as was our Verizon air card. Good utilities except if your power cord attaches at the back of your unit bring an extension cord. The electrical box is at the FRONT of the lot. We would stay here again though.
I think this park is nicer than the park next door. Utilities are good, Verizon signal is good, AT&T and T-Mobile are good. Big downside is the attitude towards dogs. You can walk them to the dog park but they better not do anything on the way. Try stopping a dog when it decides to go potty! For that reason alone we won't be back.
I would rather be broke down on the side of the road! This is a gravel lot in a shaky neighborhood. Advertises cable TV, but then tells you the company has been "out of business" for over a year once you get here. This place is a dump. Overpriced at $10.00.
We spent 7 weeks here renting from a private party. This is a nice resort full of very friendly people. The facilities are all first class. That being said if you are looking for the RV experience you are going to be disappointed. This is a Snowbird community that some bring their RV's to stay in. If you like a lot of activities and get together's this is the place for you. This is a huge place so if you want to use the facilities you need transportation. Verizon air card was strong as was T-Mobile and AT&T phones. We liked this area of Arizona enough to buy a condo in town but probably would not stay here again. Not a knock on the park or people, just not our kind of place.
Typical park model winter home for the area. They rent the empty spots to RV'S and it is pretty close together. This is a friendly clean place and the residents are all nice. Close to shopping and Verizon air card, AT&T and T-Mobile phones all worked well. We would stay here again if needed. Just remember this is a park model retirement resort and not an RV park. The above rate is the weekly rate divided out.
This is a nice park with very big sites and good utilities other than needing a lot of sewer hose. Park Wi-Fi worked well as did our Verizon air card. Cell phone service with AT&T and T-Mobile was strong. You can tell the owners take pride in the park. Too bad it's 9 miles out of town in the very stark desert which is either good or bad depending on what you like. If you are a hiker there are many well maintained trails to explore. This is a good place to stay between Las Cruces and Phoenix for a few days. The rate is Passport America.
OK place to park and sleep. Long level site long enough to not have to unhook 40 foot fifth wheel. Verizon air card, AT&T, and T-Mobil phones worked well. Passport America rate depends on who checks you in. Web site says $18 got charged $23 and would not take less. Was tired and was not going to argue over $5.00. Will go somewhere else next time.
No pretenses here, no frills level spot to park and sleep. Site long enough for my 40 foot fifth wheel where I did not even have to unhook. Verizon air card strong, AT&T and T-Mobile phones worked well. Would stay here again.
Nice park with level concrete pads and well placed utilities. Showers were private and very clean. Did not use Wi-Fi as our Verizon air card worked well as did our AT&T and T-Mobile phones. Pleasant surprise was a free breakfast in the morning. We would stay here again. Above rate is Passport America.
Some rows have more spacing than others,we were on M and your neighbors sewer hookup is under your awning! Level concrete pads and friendly people but I would not consider this anything more than an overnight stop. Just not that well thought out. Wi-Fi was fast as was our Verizon card. At&T and T-Mobile phones also worked. We would probably stay here again just for a place to sleep.
Nice quiet park with water and electric. Verizon air card worked well as did our AT&T and T-Mobile phones. The only down side I can see is terribly outdated bath house. Most stalls had no shower curtains which meant your clothes got wet while you were showering. I would camp here again. Above rate was Golden Access.
We spent 4 months here and really enjoyed ourselves. We made many friends and met a lot of friendly people. This is a typical snow bird park and is a little cliquish but not very bad. We rented from a lot owner and loved the site we had as it was large, level and pretty private as it was on a dead end road. All facilities were well kept up except for the before mentioned fire ant hills. They do need to tackle this problem. Several cost saving measures happening. While we were there all the fountains in the ponds were shut down. Restaurant at entrance was a nice place to eat. Verizon data was good but AT&T and T-Mobile phone was erratic. Can't say anything about preserve side but did NOT see any evidence of dog droppings in rest of park. My opinion is that this is the nicest park in the area as we looked at others in the area an none stacked up to Wilderness. We would definitely stay here again. Above rate is monthly rate plus electric.
Nice lady checked me in. Site was small and cramped but no big deal as this is an overnight stop type of place not a destination. Park Wi-Fi worked well. Also had good Verizon data signal, AT&T, and T-mobile phone service. Would not pay full price here but Passport America rate is about right and we would stay here again at that price.
Nice park close to many attractions. Sites are rock/grass of decent size and level. Sites are scattered about in no particular pattern which would make it hard to figure out in the dark by yourself. Very nice owner led me to my site and helped get me situated. Our Verizon Air Card was good, but the park Wi-Fi was actually faster. T-Mobile and AT&T phones had strong signal. Cable TV was fuzzy but we asked for and got a site where we could use our tri-pod satellite dish. There is a small Laundry but no bath/showers. No other amenities. We would camp here again.
Nice sized level spots with good utilities except for sewer which is back farther than electric pedestal and water spigot. Showers were clean and modern. We stayed in an open area for satellite reception, and our Verizon air card worked well as did our AT&T and T-Mobile phones. For this price they should provide cable TV though. We would stay here again.
Previous reviewer must be confused. This is a RV and boat storage yard with some tent sites and 16 back in decent sized and level sites. It's not junky but is far from the cleanest ever. The electrical and water is excellent, but bring plenty of sewer hose. Verizon air card worked well as did our T-mobile and AT&T phones. There is no laundry and the shower/bath was full of cobwebs, so we used our own shower. We did stay here for a week, enjoyed the peace and quiet, but felt previous review overstated what this park is. Despite what I just said I would stay here again. PA rate is just right for this park.
Very nice park run by great couple. There are clean, modern fairly level gravel sites that are roomy. Shower/bath and laundry were new and very clean. Did not use pool, but it looked nice. Park wi-fi worked well as did our Verizon Air Card. We have AT&T and T-Mobile phone service and both were strong. We would return if in the area. Price above is average for 3 nights Passport America and 4 nights regular rate.
This park is a Diamond in the rough. It's currently in foreclosure after what looks like some mismanagement. At one time someone put a lot of thought and money in this campground. The people running it right now are great and even serve a wonderful free breakfast on Saturdays. Showers/bathrooms are being updated and are clean and large with a decent laundry. It is well laid out with modern utilities and many fairly level sites and some that would take some work to get level. Would be worth the effort in my book. Park Wi-Fi was fast most of the time and Verizon Air Card was not Broadband but decent. Cell phone service is weak though. We have AT&T AND T-Mobile and had to go out to the entrance road to get a signal. We spent 5 days here and if we didn't have reservations down the road We would stay longer.I hope someone polishes this Diamond and brings out the potential this park has.We would come back again and again. The above rate was Passport America for the 5 days they allow.
Very pretty park with decent size, level gravel sites. All utilities are modern and well placed. Wi-Fi was sporadic but our Verizon Card worked well. Good cable TV selection. They do need to address the shower/bath situation though. A park this size needs more than one shower stall for each sex. Their information says they have a laundry but it is not yet finished. Above rate was Passport America for 3 days. Satellite owners would have no problem from any of the sites. We would stay again.
Found this after a bad state park experience in the area. This is a wonderful little park in a farm field just outside of town. Don't let smallish entrance road fool you it opens up to a nice meadow where the campsites are. The sites are level gravel surrounded by lush green grass with new modern utilities. Shower/Bath house was new and spotless. It's obvious the family running this take pride in customer service. If you are looking for swimming pools, spa's and workout rooms you won't find it. If you are looking for peace and quiet, wildlife and a fishing pond this is your place. Free firewood, fire ring, and picnic table at each site. They encourage you to let your dog run free and unleashed. Open sky for satellite and strong free Wi-Fi. Our Verizon air card worked well-not broadband but fast enough. I highly recommend this park and have found a place to stay when visiting family in the area.
This was our first state park stay and if all state parks were this nice we would use nothing else. The sites are very large and level. The water pressure was good and the 50 amp was strong. The shower/restroom was very clean and modern. Very nice laundry also. We had little trouble with our tri-pod satellite dish getting signal but rooftop dishes might have some trouble. I had to put it about 50 feet away from trailer to miss trees. Verizon air card signal was not Broadband but plenty fast for where we were. We will plan a longer stay next time.
We don't normally stop at KOA'S as they are usually way overpriced. Not much choice in this area and we were pleasantly surprised by this one. Price is a little more than we like to pay but is not bad for what you get here. Very nice man checked us in and welcomed us. Facilities were clean and modern and utilities were well placed and good. Sites were fairly level gravel and nice sized. We use our Verizon card for Internet which was strong here so did not try park wi-fi. Decent cable tv and good view of southern sky for satellite if you choose. We would not rule out another stay here if in the area. We camped here in a fifth wheel.
This is a very pretty place but NOT suited for Rv's over 35 feet. They took my reservation for my 40 foot 3 slide fifth wheel and when I got there I knew right away someone made a mistake. I got it in there but because of trailer size and site layout there was no way to level or be comfortable. These are primitive camping sites with 30 amp electric and water available. Limited cell phone service 1 TV channel and no Internet. If you like primitive camping this is a beautiful place. NOT big rig friendly. I had to move to a different campground and they did refund me for the unused days. I would recommend this for weekend camping trips.
This is our former home town and we were here for two weeks to conduct business. It's the only park in town so no choice. This is an older park but they do have an annex site across the highway from the main park with no ambiance at all and a little dusty but large, level sites with new modern utilities and a nice concrete patio. This is where we stayed as we did not need to use the showers or laundry. I liked the privacy of parking in the annex and will stay here again. I encountered none of the rudeness the previous poster did. Owner's were very friendly the whole time we were there. Did not use park Wi-Fi as our Verizon card was strong here. No obstructions on this side for satellite TV.
Nice clean park with long level sites and well placed hookups. Decent cable TV. Clean showers. Had made reservations for 2 days but got word of death in family right before we got here. Lady was nice about letting me cancel second night so I could leave next morning. Good Verizon signal. We will probably try here again when we can stay and not have other things on our minds and give a better evaluation.
At first glance looks it looks nice. Sites are long concrete but sloped with poorly placed hookups. You will either need a long sewer hose or a very long electrical cord. We had a Deluxe site so we had a place to park our truck. Others are a little narrow. Verizon signal was good most of the time but did slow down at time. Park Wi-Fi was strong and fast. Not much choice in this area but will make other plans next time. The smell of the Refinery across the highway was awful at night so we will not be back.
Nice enough that we extended our stay 1 more day. LONG level sites with nicely located hookups. Nice hot tub with adult only time for it and the pool. Clean private showers. Verizon signal was strong so we did not use their Wi-Fi. Good cable TV with lots of channels. Although a little out of our normal price range, we would return if in area.
Nice park for an overnight stay. Did not use pool but it looked nice. Big rig friendly if you plan on unhooking. We just stayed overnight and unhooking was a little bothersome. People seemed friendly but there were signs all over the park that generated an unfriendly atmosphere. I have stayed in nicer for less money and probably won't return.
Like the last review I usually don't give 10 to anybody but this is an exception. Clean well laid out park with level concrete pads that are long and wide. Park is well maintained by a mix of workampers and hired landscapers. Great laundry-bath-shower building.Wi-Fi is fast and Verizon signal is strong. Great cable TV and satellite can be received from most sites. Above rate is monthly rate including cost of electric which is metered but best rate in the country. We spent two months here and have already booked for next summer. Great park,McMinnville is a great little town and the weather is perfect.
Even though this park has no pool, Wi-Fi or other amenities now expected I rate this park very high. We just spent two weeks there and enjoyed it. This is a well run clean and pretty park with good strong electrical hookups, level rock pads with grass and wonderful tasting water. They even let you wash your truck and trailer unless the river is low. They draw directly from the River that borders it and treat it before piping it to the sites. Showers and bathrooms were always clean and hot water was plentiful. Good cheap laundry facilities. Although the park is mostly permanent residents they are all well kept and fairly new. Verizon air card was fast and strong. The only down side is I-5 borders the park and it is rather noisy so if traffic noise bothers you this is not the place you want. Rates shown reflect weekly rate ($ 79.00). We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We spent 2 weeks at Chinook and except for some rainy weather they have no control over, we really enjoyed our time. Sites are grassy, level and all utilities are good and recently updated. Showers were adequate and clean but outdated. This is a peaceful place to relax and rejuvenate. There are some attractions related to the redwoods close, as is the ocean. Would be a good idea to be stocked up when you arrive as the closest full service stores are 23 miles away in Crescent City. Don't look for hot tubs, pool or entertainment for kids. This is not the purpose of this park. Hard working workampers everyday were getting docks ready to put in the river for fishing season. About 6 pm several evenings, three seals came up the river by the campground and put on quite a show for us. Our Verizon air card was strong so did not try park Wi-Fi. One thing to note, we have T-Mobile phones and had no signal unless we went to Crescent City. Neighbor had AT&T and no service. Assuming Verizon only cell service. We would return in a heartbeat. Rate reflects PassPort America.
Nice basic place to park for a couple days between stops. Large level sites and good utilities. We do not use park Wi-Fi so I can't rate but the Verizon signal was strong and fast. A little hard to find coming in on 101, even had my GPS confused. Would stay here again if in area. Rate is passport America for two days (1 day half price 1 day full price).
This is a clean RV park that makes staying here a joy. Sites are long, wide and level. Hookups are well located and easy to access. Cable TV is very good and Verizon air card works well here. Showers/restrooms are clean and modern. Nice swimming pool and hot tub although we did not have time to use them. If we had known this park was this nice we would not have committed ourselves down the road and stayed here longer. We would come here again if we were anywhere close to this area.
This is just a place to park and rest, then move on. Really nice people running place, must give them an A for effort. This is an old converted mobile home park full of mostly older RV's that haven't moved for years but are not unkempt. They have about a half dozen spots for overnight parking. Showers are clean but old and in need of upgrade. Our Verizon Card worked well and the park cable TV is a bargain for the extra $1 charge. 50 amp is $3 extra. Above rate is for space, cable TV and 50 amps. Can't say I wouldn't stay here again, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
You must realize the purpose of this RV park.It is not a "Camping" destination. It's a place to park while you gamble in the Casino's. That being said we enjoyed the week we spent here as the park is clean and our back in space was plenty big. We were on the top level and our Verizon card worked well 99% of the time for internet. Cable TV was good but we used our Satellite as there is a clear view of the southern sky. The rate given is due to the $99 weekly special rate promotion. The only complaint I have is the shower/restrooms are gross at least building K was. We checked in on a Sunday and the same trash on the floor was there on Friday when they"cleaned" trash pile still there when they left. We will stay here again if in the area but will use our own shower.
Typical Corporate Attraction RV park. Has nice sized asphalt sites with convenient utility hookups. They do require sewer hose ramps (can't lay on ground) and plastic or wood blocks under any contact point of RV to the ground. Has very nice laundry and shower facilities. Pool and spa are in the Hotel across the street, so we did not use. We stayed here on a package deal for 3 days with the train ride to Grand Canyon, and Doggie Day Care for our dog. Total package was worth the price although we full time and don't normally spend that much for campgrounds. Wi-Fi was good, but we used our strong Verizon Air card. No negatives but the price would keep us away next time in the area.
As with most Passport America Campgrounds you get what you pay for. This is a decent park for a few days while you see the sights. Oddly laid out sites that are fairly level with crushed lava rock. Very rough entrance road and narrow entrance to park. Bathrooms and showers clean and modern with plenty of hot water and pressure. Wi-Fi works good although we used our Verizon card which had a strong and fast connection. Only negative are the few trashy RV's scattered through out the park. I would group them together on one end. In particular try to avoid being parked on either side of site 12 or anywhere in about 21 through 33. Cable TV is not worth the bother of even trying to make it work. Satellite access is easy on the other hand. Will try some of the other parks in the area next time but would stay here again if necessary.
Very nice mom and pop operation. Easy access to large level sites. No cable TV, but all sites open to Southern sky for satellite. Has very clean restrooms and showers. Did not use Wi-Fi as Verizon signal was strong and fast. I do feel for the price asked, that good cable TV should be included but that will not stop me from staying here again.
This is a very nice place to stop for a few days and relax. The sites are rock with dividers between each site and are very level. The whole park is clean and modern ran by a very nice couple who are a credit to RV park owners. Nice CLEAN showers and bath house, nice laundry. Did not have a chance to use rec room but assume it is just as nice as the rest of the park. Located in Industrial area of town but is quiet. Some permanent residents as you find in most parks now but not junky like some can be. The Wi-Fi works great but we had EVDO speed on our Verizon card. If you want a nice place to just park and recharge this is it. Only thing keeping this from being a 10 is no pool, hot tub,or cable TV. We Will park here again.
We spent 2 weeks here while looking at some property locally. This is a nice older park that is well kept and clean. Many permanent residents but they are cordial. Although we enjoyed our stay next time I think we will look else where. Will look for a park that caters more to trailers and motor homes with fewer park models. This is not a negative just a personal preference.
Nice quiet and clean park for over night stay. Really needs cable TV and Wi-Fi to meets today's standards. As with all smaller parks there are a few permanent residents but they were all nice people. Would consider staying here again.
This Resort earns the title of Resort unlike many others. Beautiful large concrete pads with well groomed grass for each spot. We were here for a rally and the meeting rooms were top notch as were the catered meals by their staff. Office personal were always helpful and pleasant. Would have give them a 10 except Wi-Fi was not as strong as it could be and Verizon signal is sporadic. I would rate it 9 3/4. Will stay here again.
Very nice family runs this clean little park. Not a resort but a nice place to park and rest with hookups. Did not use Wi-Fi but our Verizon signal was good. Would be nice to have cable TV as antenna reception was minimal. We would stop here again.
I think RV Resort is sometimes loosely used. Nice clean park but it seems they are more interested in selling memberships than anything else. We camped here free by going to their sales pitch which I have to say is not as high pressure as many I have attended. That being said when I called for reservations I told them my wife was disabled and need as close as possible to the facilities. Also told them We had a new 38 foot 5th wheel with three slides and I would prefer a pull through site. The gentleman on the phone said to let them know that when we got there. Upon arrival we were told we had a back in site and that they were full and could not accommodate a change. The site I was in was horribly un-level between two trees with the neighboring site within 1 foot of my awning. There were level and better sites empty the whole time we were there so they could have reassigned me. Showers are old and small and not dirty but could use a good steam cleaning. This park has possibilities but they have a way to go before we would come back. Pool and hot tub area needs more supervision as it was completely unusable for adults as we got tired of chasing kids out of the hot tub they used as a swimming pool.
Not a destination park, but a nice clean little park. Good level gravel spaces with grass, table, and concrete pad. Cleanest bathroom/showers I've seen in a long time. Road noise is minimal but there is some. Would have rated it higher but feel for price paid, wi-fi should have been free, not $4.95 a day. Also you need a dish if you want television; no antenna TV or cable. We would stay here again.
I not sure why this place gets the bad reviews from people. I found the owner friendly and helpful. Nice park for a stopover for a day or so. Just installed wi-fi which was the best I had my whole trip. Cable tv was also top notch. Will stay here again.
Very nice park with a lot of perks ran by very friendly people.Like most commercial parks now days there were a lot of permanent residents who for the most part were cordial but not overly friendly. Would have given a 10 except the cable tv leaves a lot to be desired contrary to maintenance mans proclamation. Could still easily stay here long term and enjoy it.
Stayed here 1 night. Small tightly packed spaces. They were gravel and level. Was told Wi-Fi was powerful but never could get on with a strong enough signal to get on internet. Neither could other person I talked to.Advised owner but she was unsure of what to do.To be fair she said she just bought park and seemed eager to do a good job of managing park.Would probably stay here again and see if she follows up.
Stayed here one night. Owner was friendly and helpful. WI-FI was great.Mostly permanent residents that were no bother except for the person who was slamming a door so loud at midnight it set my alarm off. However this is no fault of the management. Good for overnight stop to rest.
