Great location for golf lovers. Perfect course and great restaurant within walking distance. We came in a 45 foot motor home, towing and it was horrible getting out! We got hung up and jack-knifed in the middle of the road. When leaving, be sure to make a very wide swing to miss the ditches. Drive carefully!!!!
We were pleasantly surprised to find this older, a little off the beaten path park to be so good. It is old, but clean, neat and friendly. Spaces are wide. Great electricity and good Wi-Fi. Perfect for an over night visit. I would highly recommend it for that quick stop before or after tackling Seattle. We even got satellite from where we were parked.
We called and then e-mailed to confirm this park could take a 45 foot motorhome. They e-mailed back that they could and looked forward to serving us. We arrived and attempted to go to the assigned site. Impossible! Roads were narrow and washed out. Trees would have ripped our side and would have been VERY difficult maneuvering a way out of the camp. We went back to say we could not get in and the host was very understanding. We had to leave and find another spot 6 miles back from where they were. We sure could have saved time and fuel if we had known ahead of time. I do not recommend this site for any large rig, not matter what the size.
What a surprise! A wonderful rustic park, quiet and peaceful, right next to the lake. Very clean log cabin restrooms and friendly staff. It does have one hook up for 50 amps, not sure if there is any other spots but #15 does have it. Very large spaces. A dump is near but no sewer hook-ups. No cable but Bill does have a stack of VCRs and some DVD's that are free to use. We loved it. Thanks to the previous reviews we decided to try it out and so glad we did. For the fisherman we are told great Salmon fishing here with lots of places for your boat. Perfect place. We would come back!
This is an absolutely beautiful park! Geared for ownership of individual lots, it is a well kept and friendly park. I rated it a 10 as there is nothing to fault but price. $79.95 is way too high for this park. I was quoted $59.00 on phone but was later told differently. I would not go back as we do not need that much luxury for the price. Nice to visit but will not be back.
The first thing I was aware of was the friendliness of staff. They worked very hard to have the perfect space for our 45 foot motor home. They were able to make changes at the last minute and still get us in. The park is shaded with big spots. Wi-Fi worked great and they supplied us with all the information to see the local highlights. We hated to leave as we felt like part of the family. I loved the path I could walk into town, shady and beautiful. Perfect location to explore Mackinack City. I would definitely stay here again if we were in town.
What a surprise! We read in a camping guide that it was only 30 amps and not sure if it had sewer hookups. A brand new part with total hook-ups. So close to Niagara Falls yet in a beautiful area of lake and lighthouse. Very friendly and welcoming. I wish we could come back again.
I know I am rating this parking lot very high, but the location makes up for all the problems that are here. It is just a paved parking lot, but if you choose the ocean spot, not the field ,you back right up to the ocean with a light house outside your front window. It really does not get any better than this! Down side, no sewer and hard to get into the one available. Route into the park is through very narrow roads and hard to navigate, but worth it. We were on the end of the power source so had a lot of fluctuating power. Pickering Fort is located inside the property and an old Coast guard hanger so history in right here. Trolley will pick you up right in the park and give you a tour of Salem($). We would stay again for sure!
We were very disappointed with this park. I did not review the rules before we came so found out after we arrived that they do not allow air conditioners to be run even though we had 50 amps. We were able to get into the spot but they are arranged back to front and we had no where to sit outside as the party next to us had the entire area with lots of kids. The interior roads were very narrow and the dump would have been very difficult to maneuver with a 45 ft. motor home. Nothing like what their web site said. Office help were wonderful and helpful and made you feel welcomed when we arrived. We would not return.
We so enjoyed this site. We came in a large motorhome, and we had such a big spot with a tree for shade and friendly people to add to our experience. The only down side is they do not have any sewer so plan accordingly. They do pump for free if you stay 4 days. The staff was so helpful and went way beyond what was expected. It is also close to all the seaports in the area, but a very quiet place to stay. Love it! Would love to come back.
This is a very special park. A true gem and a real find. Had to pass rodeo grounds to get to park so was not sure what we would find. A very clean, well cared for friendly park. Easy access for large RV. Spaces a little narrow, but get along with your neighbor and all will be good. Location among the prettiest hills and valleys I have ever seen. Just going to Wal-mart is a true experience. A park with a lot of pride, and it shows. No cable, but did get satellite.
Loved this park! Friendly with large spaces for 45 foot RV. Marked it down only because it does not have cable and the trees blocked the satellite. Easy to reach and very quiet, off the main path.Close to tourist attractions but far enough out to have fireflies and stars. Would come back again if in the area.
Loved the park. Planned to stay one day and ended up staying 4 days because we loved it so much. I only rated them down because making the reservation was very difficult. Lady was not helpful or friendly on the phone. Office does not open until 12:00pm! No early check-in's unless you want to pay extra for the hour you are early. Almost didn't even go to the park but it was in the right area we needed for our travels. When we arrived it was entirely different. Very friendly and helpful. Clean, large areas, shaded and beautiful. A river runs very close to the campground so a peaceful place to read a book. I would recommend it if you can get some help making your reservation.
Loved the park. Stayed over Memorial Day and it was a lot of fun. Had breakfast for us and really enjoyed getting to know the regulars. We were in the field and there were ruts where another motor home had trouble getting out after all the rains, but was not a problem. Lots of room for our 45 footer with the car parked in front. Close to big towns but far enough out for peace and quiet. Would highly recommend it to fellow campers.
I gave this park a 10 because it was one of the most memorable parks we have visited so far. Staff was very friendly, had a perfect spot picked for us, as we are 45 feet. Even had satellite reception. While here, there was a re-enactment of the Civil War with authentic costumes, canons and ceremony. All for the price of the campground stay. Pool was warm and miniature golf ($) great fun. Management made sure our stay was perfect! We really hated to leave. I highly recommend it!!!!
I was very disappointed in this park. In travel books sounded like a top park but it is just a cement parking lot with small un-mowed grass between spaces. It is run down and not friendly. I would never stay here again and will leave a lot earlier than planed. It is way too expensive for what is here.
Wonderful park, friendly troopers, peaceful, tranquil and lots of large open space. There is an upper and lower campground. The lower is lakefront and the upper is in the trees and wide open. Would go back in a minute if we were in the area.
