Very pleasant and quiet. Lots of grassy areas for picnicking. It is Convenient to Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Watsonville. The gate is locked at sunset, but they give you a key. There are restrooms but no showers. The campsites are very narrow - only 14 feet wide, so you are very close to your neighbors.
They had no record of my reservation yet they had charged my credit card. The Echo Dam is under repair until 2015 therefore the water is so low the "waterfront" sites are more than 200 yards from the water which they failed to inform us of this fact. Only 20 amp service and three sites share a water spigot. The showers are at the far end of the resort, somewhat impossible to walk to. After they found us an empty site, we waited over 2 hours for someone to check our electric pedestal because the GFI kept popping off. It was a very disappointing camp experience.
