I camped here a few years ago and really liked this park, but not so much now. They have way more permanent people that live in the campground than campers. I wish they would put all the live-in people in the same loop and leave the rest for the campers. And the skunk problem there is getting out of control. When you pay to camp, but have to go inside of your trailer earlier because there are so many skunks running around, it really takes away from the experience. Our dog got sprayed and so did the underneath of our trailer. The air conditioning was going, so the skunk smell got inside of our vents. It's been days later and the trailer still smells of skunk. If they want people to camp there, they should re-locate or get rid of some of that skunk population. There are so many young children that play there, they shouldn't have to worry about getting sprayed. And because so many people live there full time, it's hard to get a prime spot.
I loved this park! Sort of an "old school" feel. Nice setting. A lot of the sites were spacious. You could walk to town if you wanted. There are few hookup sites available, but they are a bit close together for me. This is a good campground to use as home base while you check out Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, etc.
