This is a very nice resort - excellent rally facilities (rate is rally rate), although there didn't seem to be any effort to put all rally attendees together. Very nice pools and hot tubs. Beautifully manicured lawns. Very few shady spots. Back-in spots may not allow you to stay hooked up, but pull-thru's are plenty long. The freeway noise is fairly significant, 24/7. The Wi-Fi was not good at all - constantly dropping the signal. The area is not great for Verizon Mifi - you only get 3G, although cell phone reception was fine. (That's true of Kerrville in general). We would stay again (for a rally only).
We just stayed here one night, but we will be back. Beautiful location on the river. Close to downtown: restaurants are within walking distance. We were able to stay hooked up with no problem. Very nice pool area. Very quiet. Staff was very friendly.
We enjoyed our stay here. A very pretty setting on two lakes, with nice walking paths around. The spots are extremely wide. Lots of day people in fishing. Excellent cable. We had a very nice dinner over at the Hard Rock. The train did not bother us at all (although we were as far away from it as possible). My main complaint was the dust. Pretty much everything were dirt roads, and the dust was pretty intense. It would really help if they graveled the areas. Not too far into town. Staff was friendly. Excellent security: 24 hours.
Park is out of town a little bit, and is very quiet. We were not able to stay hooked up due to the location of the utilities, but there was room to park the truck at the end of the spot. Good place to spend the night if you're on Hwy 84.
The park is very nice, as everyone has said. Nice hiking trail around the park. Staff was fine, both with phone contact and at checkin. We had asked for two sites together, and we were accommodated. Our friend needed a specific tool for a repair, and the handyman was very nice and loaned it to him. The handyman was always around, sprucing the place up. They also received 2 packages for us with no problem. We were close to the exit, which we thought might be a problem, but there was really no noise. Only 1 dumpster in the park, so we saw a lot of people driving their trash up! We never did get the internet to work. They had many sites, but we never were able to get connected (neither were our friends). Verizon MiFi worked great, however. The location was fine: not too far into Santa Fe. Walmart very close, easy access to freeway. Rate paid was based on a weekly rate.
Friendly management and best gift shop I've seen. Other than that, not much that we liked. The cement site was not level and we barely fit in the site while staying hooked up. We were quite close to the office, but the internet was pretty much unusable. The noise from I-20 was horrible. They must have recently added gravel to the sites. The water hookup was in a box underground, but was so full of gravel that it was difficult to hook up. We would probably not stay here again due to the noise.
Main office closes at 4, but night host was very helpful. Hookups were in an awkward spot for our configuration (we wanted to stay hooked up) so they allowed us to reverse our direction on the site. Very nice access to river. Looked like lots of activities available, including breakfast (we didn't go). We would stay here again.
The front desk worked very hard to find us a site (they were almost full). We ended up with a very large, long back-in site. The hookups were at the back, which would have been a problem for the sewer, but we didn't hook up (just there for one night). The cable was very good, internet was fair. Interior roads still need some work, but didn't cause any problems. Noise was minimal. Looked like a great dog park and play area. Very pretty park with all the trees.
