Normally stay in state parks, but were attending a conference in San Antonio and this was the most convenient. Was very clean, people very knowledgable about the area and very friendly. Was unable to partake in the morning breakfasts or the recreation activities, but did walk the rails to trails behind our site. Some shade, some open sites, very nice.
This place is alive with ANTS. 3 days later, after multiple sprayings and washing, still finding them all over the outside, inside, in food, in bed, on us.. Very disgusting. We stayed here before and was looking forward to staying again. Saw a small sign at the entrance, unattended, about ants, but no one mentioned anything. Not the hosts or the neighbor who we spoke to. Next morning, realized the circle I thought was chalk, that the children had drawn around the trailer next door, was actually chemicals to keep the ants away. Sunset, sunrise spectacular, but ants were horrendous.
