We were greeted by a warm, friendly couple who were the manager's. They had us walk the sites, allowing us to pick the best one for our motorhome. We have a 40' class A and it was tricky getting it around to the site. Fortunately, the park was not crowded but I could see this being a real issue in a busier time. The place is really nice with a laundry and showers. A very dog-friendly place too. They have a dog play area with numerous obstacles for the dogs to play on. The only gripe I have is they charge for Internet. My wife and I both have laptops so we had to pay $20 a day for access. In my opinion, this is crazy in this day and age. Five to seven years ago I would expect to pay, but not today. So, if you came here with several kids and a few adults, and each had a laptop, you are in for a large added expense.
First of all, this place is expensive. I was floored when I was told the price for a nights stay. Oh well, I was told by friends that this is the best place in the area for a motorhome. We have a big-rig class A and tow a car so we needed a pull-through. We arrived in December: this is very off season for this area. I called a day before asking if I could check in at around 11AM as that was when we were arriving. Upon arrival, I asked the guy at the desk if our space was available. He said it was an extra $20! I told him I called ahead and was told if the space was there it was OK. He called someone and acted as if he was doing me a big favor by waiving the fee. So, we drive to the site and guess what? There was no one else here. The area we were put in, had me and no other pull-through sites and one fifth wheel in another area. The place only had a few other guests, so what was the big deal on checking in early? I don't like feeling like I am being gouged. Oh well, the place was one of the nicest I have been to. Even though we didn't use them, I checked out the bathrooms and showers. Really, really clean! There are beautiful grounds and it is very dog friendly. All in all, a very nice place. I would imagine in the summer it would be packed and not as enjoyable for a loner like me. We would stay here again for sure.
The lady that checked us in wasn't very nice. The RV park is very clean and great for pets as they have a seperate area for dogs. Apparently, they don't allow tents as a guy a few rigs down was told to take his small tent down. The poor guy sleeps in a tent because he snores too loud and keeps his family awake. They made a bid deal out of it. 50 AMP service on some of the sites was nice. Can be hard to hit Direct TV because of the trees. Would stay again for sure. Close to lots of great things to do in the area. Oh, we checked out the other park in town and this one is better for sure.
Ok, the person who rated this a "10" is suspect at best. The folks who run it were very nice but this is the most basic of RV parks you could find. The only trees are on the road. None, not one, at any of the sites. Large pull-throughs for bigger rigs and 50 AMP service was nice. But, be forewarned, it is a large stone lot with only one picnic table that was broken apart in the entire RV park. Completely baren other than that. Good for an overnight stay.
