We have stayed here several times, and they have added a few new additions. There is new swimming pool which also has a slide. They have added more sites to the overflow section. I wish they would have planted fast growing saplings because there isn't much shade over there, but the sites are a nice size. They have many activities for the kids including a super soaker hayride. The ice cream parlor serves great ice cream but had a very unpleasant smell all weekend long. The fireworks were great, the bathrooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
This is the second time we have stayed at this campground. Last year we were at a pond site, this year we had a river site. The river site was much nicer with more shade and a beautiful waterfront view. The site was a little narrow but fairly leveled. The bathrooms were clean. I like that they had one family shower stall in the bath house that we used. The water can also sometimes have a slight smell. My daughters enjoyed the pools and water slides as well as the activities. While you can purchase an activity package, we just purchased the water slide wristbands that were just $2.00 per person for your entire stay. This past weekend was Father's Day weekend and they had a free breakfast for the dads that was delicious. The road in is very narrow and the road by the river sites were partially gravel which made it hard for my girls to use their scooters. However, the road by the pond is paved. They had a DJ on Saturday night as well as Bingo. The workers were friendly. We would stay here again.
Expensive! Our site was level, with gravel, shade trees and expensive. We were near the water zone water park. My girls loved the water slides. Candy bingo was fun. There are many activities for the children including laser tag and movie night. The bathroom was clean. Did I mention that it was expensive and that price was with a discount! It was a fun campground but we won't be staying here often due to the high price.
Our site backed up to a stream. Very leveled, shaded and grassy with some gravel. We were on the lower level sites that seemed mostly for tents and small RV's. Many of the big rigs were on the upper level. This was a decent campground but it looked "tired". The bathrooms were somewhat respectable but dated (the showers were not as nice as it could be) as were many of the buildings. The games in the game room were out-dated. The lower pool was nice and the upper pool has a hot tub. The camp store was stocked with the essentials. The wood is NOT dry so it's hard to get a fire started. Wi-Fi cost extra. Children are $2 per night per child, however, the dog was free. They had many activities for both children and adults. BINGO night was fun; as was square dancing night. Even if you don't square dance go anyway it is a blast to realize that you have two left feet even if you thought you were a good dancer. We camped with a group. Chances are we would not camp here often since there are many nicer, less expensive campgrounds nearby. This is in the heart of Amish country and the road behind our site had some car traffic but you could also hear the clip-clop of the Amish horse and buggy driving by in the morning.
This was our second camping experience and it was wonderful. The campground is nestled in the hills and it is a beautiful view all around. The pool was clean and inviting. They have an arcade, an amusement park, restaurant and a snack shop with very reasonable prices. The camp store was stocked with the basics. Our campsite was level with gravel. We were backed up to the stream which was a source of entertainment for my girls. The bathrooms were extremely clean and had good source of hot water. I also liked the fact that there was an air conditioner in the bathroom that can be turned on or off easily. A good feature when the bathroom is steamed up. The only thing I would add it an escort to our site. The writing on the map they hand you is microscopic so it would have been nice to have an escort. We will definitely be back. We stayed the weekend after fourth of July weekend and apparently they have their own fireworks show.
This was our first camp trip in our new pop up and it was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by the staff and escorted to our site. Our escort did a great job guiding my husband into the site (I'm terrible at that). The site was level with gravel and shade trees. The bathroom were family bathrooms and were very clean in the morning but showed a little wear and tear by late evening. The swimming pool was clean although quite chilly. They have several pet run areas for you dog. There were activites for the children including a hayride and movie night on the hill. The camp store was small but stocked with the basics. There is a 24-hour Giant supermarket nearby along with fast food places, a K-Mart, CVS etc. Wal-Mart is in the opposite direction. Everyone seem to respect and obey the quiet hours time. All in all this is a very nice campground fairly close to Hersheypark. By the way, they also run a shuttle bus to Hershey which will save you the $10 parking fee. Hershey park also has a dog kennel where you can keep your pet during park hours for $10. A nice feature if you don't want to leave your dog unattending all day.
