Used this place for an overnight stop. It seemed nice enough and would make a good base-camp for seeing the area. I don't think that the park was a destination in and of itself, though. I would tell anyone to stop here on their way through. Nothing spectacular, but everything you need.
This was an excellent park. I stayed there for just over three months last fall. The sites were large and well situated. The park has an excellent pool and community center (pool tables, large tv, etc. . . ) and the bathrooms are large and well maintained. The park loses two points for a couple reasons and these are my only complaints. The office hours are only for like three to four hours a day and given my schedule (I work nites) it was often difficult for me to talk with them. There is no camping store on site so if you needed little things like milk or bread you had to run out to the store. The final thing is that it is located in an industrial are with a couple mobile home parks nearby. It is not very scenic at all around there. However the park does a nice job of isolating itself from the surroundings. Overall a great place and I would return there If I needed to be in the area again for any length of time.
This park is well maintained and appears to be a nice park, but I had a poor expereince. The other campers around me were not very pleasant at all. Everyone is so hurried and inconsiderate. My site had old cigarrette butts and beer cans in the fire ring and I could not use the rear leveling jacks because of a drainage pipe (there was a 2 foot gully behind my site). The site was very difficult to get my 31 foot tt into, mostly because all the neighbors where parked all around and gave you very little space. It is very tight in most spaces here. I would recommend it only for overnight stays and even then only if I had to. Bottomline is that if I had payed 25 dollars I would give it a 9/10, but 51 dollars was way too much for what you got at this park.
Great place for an overnight stop. It was clean, Easy to find, and a place to get a good restful night of sleep. I did not have time to really explore the area but I don't think that this campground offered enough to make it a destination place. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.
This is a nice campground that I would recommend to anyone coming to the area, mostly because it is the best in an area with sub-par campgrounds. However, the area is well maintained. The rules are enforced, though I noticed a few less-than-savory teenagers wandering around at night trying to bum cigarettes. I was able to sit around the fire after quiet hours with a couple friends and not be hassled about noise (though we are fairly considerate people.) there are plenty of things for kids to do here and I feel the family atmosphere here more than most cgs I have been to. But still, the roads are not paved, the sites are close together, there are too many permanent sites (albeit fairly well taken care-of compared to most), and the site I was in was very uneven (never could get level) as were most of the sites around me. Probably the best campground to see Pittsburgh from though.
Stopped here late and left early in the morning. The sites were small gravelled sites that were close together. Easy to get in and out of. I had no problems with power while I was there. The biggest problem with this campground is that the area around it is not very wholesome. I felt like I was driving through the ghetto just to get there. I did not feel safe while I was here and did not sleep well. A train woke us up in the middle of the night. I gave this campground a 5 because the owner or operator opened the store up late ( I think he was out doing a security walk around) and checked us in. He was very friendly and I appreciated that given how late at night it was. I think the next time I come through here I will wait and stop in Tucson.
We stayed here for two days while visiting some friends on our way out west. It rained here very much the whole time we were here and there was not an ounce of mud or standing water. The sites where level and and very well maintained. It was easy to navigate this campground and the sites were not overly big, but were comfortable. The people were great. They escorted us to our campground (in the rain) and made sure we had everything we needed. The facilities were all very clean. We will stay here from now on each time we come to Dallas/Ft.Worth.
We stayed at this park for three months (Jan-April) and we thouroughly enjoyed our time here. It is easily the nicest park that I have stayed at. A little expensive ($560 a month) but you pay for what you get. My only complaint is that the staff is less than friendly. Not horrible, just very business like and not very personable. Other than that you could not ask for more in a park. Security is very good and that was a big plus for us. I would suggest staying here to anyone who is coming to Vegas. There is a little (LITTLE) bit of jet noise but not at all bothersome.
