Rate shown is Passport America. This is a beautiful park. We got in after the office was closed but the owner waited for us and conducted us to our site. There were many permanent residents but everything was clean and well-maintained. The pull thru was level grass with a concrete patio. We did not use the restrooms or showers but I looked at them and they were exceptionally nice. Everyone we talked with loved their park and highly recommended staying there. We only spent one night on our way through but would definitely stay again if in the area.
This is the Passport America rate. We really liked this campground. The roads are gravel but very well maintained. Some sites are gravel but most are concrete and almost all are lakeside. The pull thrus are wide and long enough for big rigs. The lakes are beautiful and we really enjoyed watching the herons. They went out of their way to help us when we had problems with our trailer. We don't fish but anyone who does would love it here! They have several rental cabins right on the lake. The laundry was clean and had 4 washers and dryers. We are self-contained so did not use the restrooms or showers but, as well as everything else is taken care of, I would imagine they are fine. They have a very large clubhouse that everyone seemed to hang out at. We would definitely stay here again.
This is the Passport America rate plus $1 for 50 amp service. We just stopped for one night while passing through the area. The road leading into the park was gravel and very narrow but there was no traffic so it was not a problem. The sites are grass/gravel and not particularly level but plenty big enough and a great deal for the price. The Wi-Fi worked well and staff was very friendly and helpful, returning my calls as promised. We would definitely stay here again.
Rate shown reflects one night at Passport America and four nights with GoodSam Discount. We were not impressed with this park. The pullthru sites were so narrow that, by the time we got far enough away from the electric box to put our slides out, we were pretty much off the gravel. We were not able to get level at all. We could not use our awning due to a tree too close to our site. There was no picnic table and, really, no room for one. They supposedly are very strict about cleaning up after your pets but our site had dog poop that we had to clean up so we didn't track it into our trailer. There were no trash cans so everything had to be taken to the dumpsters clear up at the front of the park. The highlight of our stay was the next door neighbor starting up his very loud motorcycle every morning at 5:30 a.m. We're also motorcyclists so obviously have nothing against bikers but that much noise that early shows a real lack of consideration for others and the park didn't seem to be interested in doing anything about it. And, to top it off, we got infested with ants - apparently, our site was on a very large anthill! We did not use the restrooms/showers but I did look in and they appeared OK. The WIFi worked well even though we were quite a ways from the office. It is very hard to get to but that is the fault of Texas' one-way access road system and no fault of the park. The staff was friendly but provided no escort to the site. We would not stay here again.
This is a very small park near Lake Tawakoni. The camp host lives on the premises and is extremely helpful. The concrete pads are small - probably less than 20' but there was plenty of room for our 40' fifth wheel trailer, just couldn't get all 4 jacks on the concrete. The sewer hookup is at the rear of the site, so we had to get an extension hose, but other hookups were very convenient. There are a few permanent trailers that are rented out but they are well kept. There are several pavilions for day use as well as a boat launch. There is a good-sized playground, also. We would definitely stay here again when back in the area.
Rate shown is Passport America. We really liked this park. It would be impossible to find nicer, more helpful people anywhere. It really is in the middle of nowhere but, if you call ahead (which we strongly recommend), they will give you excellent directions. The back roads leading to the park are narrow but there is no traffic so it wasn't a problem. Roads and sites are gravel but meticulously maintained. Pull-throughs are narrow but we did have room to get our slides out, even with the neighbor's awning out. They are continuing to make improvements and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
This rate reflects the senior federal passport rate. This is a very nice park, restrooms and showers are extremely clean and very well maintained. Hosts and other campers were helpful and friendly. They advertise 4 pull-thrus but they are not possible for most big rigs to get into. Sites are paved and mostly level. All sites are shaded. It is on a beautiful lake with a swimming area and boat launch. Most campgrounds in the Nashville are very expensive so this was a great choice. We will definitely stay here again if back in the area.
The rate shown is Passport America. This is a nice, older park. There are many permanent sites but they seem to be well-maintained. The transient sites are mostly grass but fairly level. There are lots of trees but no problem moving our 40' rig around. They have quite a few pull-thrus that were easy in and out. The restrooms and showers are older but clean and in good condition. They have a small laundry with 4 each washers & dryers. There is also a large pavilion with a small game room. Weekday office hours are only 3 to 7 pm but you can self-register. It's only 1/2 mile off the interstate and we would definitely stay here again.
This is a very nice park; family owned for many years. Staff is very friendly and helpful. After they saw the size of our rig, they willingly changed our reserved site to a larger one and escorted us to it. Many full-time residents but all sites were very well maintained. Lots of trees and plenty of shade but no problem getting large rigs around the roads. The sites are gravel but very level. They even have a flush toilet in the outhouse in the tent area.
This is the PA rate with a $3 upcharge for 50-amp service. This is the second time we have stayed here and will definitely be back. Level sites (some concrete) with some pull-thru. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and has a connection with people who purchase tickets at a discount and deliver to the campground. Pool is beautiful and very well-kept. Very nice, clean laundry. Didn't use showers or restrooms since we are self-contained but look clean and well-maintained.
This park is beautiful! We arrived late and the information for late check-in was clearly posted. We left a message and the staff called back immediately and told us to go ahead and set up and they would see us in the morning. The sites were large and fairly level. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. It was quiet and the scenery on the hiking trails was awesome. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to other campers. There is a herd of the Texas longhorns on the premises, but we didn't get a chance to see them.
This is a nice park. Water and electric worked well. Sites were large and fairly level. When there is no attendant, there is an "honor box" that you can use to register and pay. The park was clean, quiet, and neat. Unfortunately, restrooms were closed for the winter. The attendant was friendly and very helpful, opening the restrooms for us but the showers were not operational because the water heaters had been disassembled.
This is a very nice park. Easy access to and from I-40. Exceptionally level concrete sites and paved roads. Nice grassy area (unfenced) for dogs. Showers/restrooms are clean and well-maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't notice road noise at all. They do have an exercise room and spa which we have not had a chance to try yet, but plan to do so. Cable TV and WI-FI work very well. It is marked, "under new ownership" so possibly some complaints I saw in other reviews have been remedied. We would stay here again.
This park is absolutely beautiful. The roads are paved and the sites are fairly level concrete. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they willingly gave us a spot near the dog park (which was very nice) and we were escorted to our site. The showers and restrooms were ceramic tiled and spotless. The water was hot and the pressure was excellent; the best campground shower I have ever used. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a beautiful park. Sites are large and entire campground is very well maintained. We parked in an open field which was not very level but many other spots were available; we got in late and only stayed for one night so we weren't too choosy but could have had any one of many level, shaded spots if we had planned to stay longer.
We were very disappointed in this park. The grass hadn't been mowed - probably all summer. The restrooms were awful....dirty and poorly maintained; the doors looked like they were ready to fall off. It obviously had been a nice park at one time; the sites were concrete and hookups were in nice brick stands but is very run down. The staff was very friendly and helpful but couldn't make up for the poor condition overall.
This is the second time we have stayed at this park. It is great! Sites are level and the entire park is very well maintained. We love the dog park. The laundry is wonderful...large lounge with big-screen TV and comfortable furniture to use while you're waiting. Shower rooms are exceptional; large private rooms and huge showers. We would definitely stay here again if we happen to be back in the area.
This is a very nice park. Sites are a little narrow but level and well-maintained. Restrooms and showers are clean and in good condition. We stayed for 5 days and our only complaint was that the shower rooms close at 8:00 p.m. We prefer to take our showers at bed-time so it was a little inconvenient for us. The indoor pool was sparkling clean. We used the shuttle to go to the Lodge for the documentaries and the John Wayne movies shown in the evenings and it was much nicer than driving and trying to find a place to park.
