Very nice for short time. Passport America rate. No frills camping but safe and clean. Call ahead for price because you register in front of the house at a little stand where you fill in your information, the number of the site you picked, and add the cash payment then drop in a slot. We would stop here again.
Easy off of I-80 at exit 81. Near Starved Rock State park and the town of Peru where there are many stores for shopping. Very nice campground and very nice people in the office. We will stay here again.
My husband and I stayed here 3 different times in October 2014. We used Passport America for the first 2 nights. Very nice campground and wonderful people in the office. Very close to Cedar Rapids for any shopping. If looking for a church while here we suggest the Calvary Baptist church in Cedar Rapids. The pastor is terrific and the congregation is very friendly. Best to call ahead because they have many groups that meet here through the year. We highly recommend this campground.
We stayed here the end of last year on our way to southern Florida and now in March 2014 on our way back north. Very pleased both times with the campground. Very friendly lady in the office and helpful with information if going into Lady Lake. The campground is right next to I-10 but the noise doesn't seem that bad. The sites are pull-through, free Wi-Fi, free cable and fairly flat. I would stay here longer then overnight if I needed to. We paid $22.20 with our Passport America. We have a 36 ft. motorhome with a car in tow. We highly recommend this campground. Easy off I-10 and I-75.
We have been here for almost a week and just signed up for another week. We love the peace and quiet here along with the beautiful scenery. The owner is great and always there to help you if needed. He and his family live on the property so there is always someone around. There are planned activities that you can participate in or just sit out in your chair and enjoy the weather and the beautiful mountains and desert. Deming is about 10 miles away and there is a Walmart, K Mart, movie theater/bowling alley, auto parts stores, restaurants and more. To get here there is about 7 miles of dirt/gravel road but it is flat no holes. We hear the coyotes in the distance sometimes and we have seen quail and jack rabbits. It is a great place to just relax.
The owners of this park are very nice. The park is a little rustic it has full hookups-50amp, sewer, cable and free wifi. There are no restrooms or showers. There isn't a playground or anything for kids. This is a great place to just spend time in between your major cities. The sites are gravel pull through and very long so you can leave your car hooked up if needed. It is easy off I-40 and right on old route 66. There are some restaurants in town, McDonalds, Sonic, Subway, Pizza Hut and some locally owned like Del's just down the street from the park. If you need a relaxing place with very few attractions and you have everything you need in your trailer or motorhome then I recommend this place. We liked it.
Nice place. Pull-thru sites with full hookups, water, 50amp, sewer and cable. Clubhouse, laundry, showers and restrooms. Walmart close by and restaurants. Sites not shaded. We stayed one night. I recommend this campground.
