We made a stop here for one night. The RV sites were behind the motel. It's rustic, and the bathroom /shower house was very clean. We dry camped next to the neighbor's stables. It's quiet; mostly working men. They do have a dump station. They have pull through sites with FHU but not well marked. It's a nice place for one night if you're passing through this area. The town is very friendly and Chubby's cafe is awesome.
My negative comments concerning pet friendly is due to no signs about picking up after dogs, so if you are taking your dog out at night you step on other dog messes. The grassy area would be fine if they would post signs. The park does not offer things for children and I would think it's because most come here to visit Yellowstone Park. It is very quiet at night. I did notice some trucks entering at high rate of speed. The turns at each section of the sites are very tight and we had to knock on someone's door because our 40 ft rig could not make the turn into our site. The sites are big enough for 40 ft rig, but no place for your vehicle.
The sites were nice, wide, and overlooked a green grass meadow facing the river. It was quiet and peaceful and deer passed through the camp everyday. The park owner was helpful and outstanding. We will return.
This campground is owned by BLM and well kept by the park host. We stayed in big motor-home. The wildlife, quietness, and peaceful setting is amazing. They have wonderful water and allow you to top your tanks. Good potable toilets, and dump station. Awesome scenery of the snow cap mountains. Our half off rate was base on a gold pass for national parks.
We always stay here for one or two months to visit friends in the area. The owner and work-campers are friendly and assist with any questions people might need answered. The square dancers either stay or come during the week for events. Great walking trails along the river for pets. Our pricing was monthly rate. It's a clean , seasonal, well kept campground. We enjoy it better than staying in the big city next to the freeway traffic.
We stay here on our PA discount for two nights and extended an additional night to finish viewing the Mesa Verde Park. This is a quiet park, clean, and friendly owner. The facilities were being updated during our stay. We did use the toilets and laundry and it was very clean. We will return.
We stayed here for two weeks to finalize our going full time. The owner is very nice, however I believe that the area is being swallowed up by new freeway construction and the owner must be waiting for highway dept to buy them out. It needs a lot of maintenance care and the sites are 80% permanent residences. The quiet time is not observed because people were cussing late into the night, which kept my wife awake. A lot of traffic noise coming from the freeway.
