I loved this place!! What a great way to experience the beach and stay where there is some sort of privacy. I always find that most places do not have trees because they are coastal. This place has trees and is grassy! The park itself is clean and over all, it was a great choice! I recommend it. No fires though: that kind of bummed-out my husband. But the beach made up for it!
We arrived and this campground was packed. Very open and our site was not what I expected. We had a full hookup but it was difficult to figure out where our hookups were. Another camper was using our hookups? Had to get management to come out: they figured at first we didn't know what we where talking about. Also noticed right away that our site had a great view of the dumpsters: pretty much on our site. Smelled really bad and was also a high traffic area due to people throwing out their trash. Management should have at least put up a fence! We had made reservation for two nights, but only stayed one and left first thing in the morning.
This campground has alot to offer: however you will pay for it. I was told when I made reservations over the phone, if I did not care for our site we could change it when we arrived. The first site was out in the open, close to the highway noise and in the center. When I requested to change I was told there was a $10 fee: not what I was told on the phone. When I questioned this, the front desk person told me sorry it is a $10 fee!! Strike one! The resort has a great pool with a slide in the back: $10 a person to use the slide. What?? Unfortunately we found this out when we where ready to go down it. We had to go to the front and purchase it. I was informed this was non-refundable. No kidding?! Internet access was $6 a day. We where here all of 20 minutes and had already dropped $25 dollars besides the cost of the site. Over all I was disappointed as the campground boasts of their status as being one of the premier campgrounds in PA. I wouldn't say it was top notch.
