Fort Worden has two campgrounds. The upper campground has 35 sites in a forest setting, 5 primitive tent sites and 30 back-in sites with electric and water. There is a dump station available. The beach campground, with wonderful views of Admiralty Inlet and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, has 50 full hook up sites with at least 25-40 feet between sites. Some are back-in and some pull through. There are 4 50 amp sites available, C15, C16, C37, and C40, and they are all back-ins. The remainder are 30 amp. Both campgrounds operate on a reservation system although sites are available if not previously reserved. Best to check ahead. I would rate this park with a 10 except for the poor signs to the campgrounds. Upon entry to the state park, you come to a four way stop where there is a large sign depicting directions to everything EXCEPT the campgrounds. I delayed traffic behind me while I searched for the campground information. I eventually gave up and took my motor home and toad on a needless exploration of the state park, finally finding the campground. Note to self, next time proceed to the park office to check-in and receive directions.
We checked in to this park to find very friendly office workers. They sent us to our site, and we could not believe our eyes. Besides the RV's being packed in like sardines, and many extra vehicles per site, our tiny site had a crew of workers cutting back a tree. There were branches and equipment everywhere. There was nowhere to wait, so we got a refund and left. If you come here with a small rig, maybe you could fit. We have a 35' MH towing and were not even sure we could fit into the site, and if we could, we weren't sure we could get out. We were happy not to stay here. It is a fire hazard if nothing else. We will never come back to this park.
We chose this KOA due to it's location near San Francisco where we drove the 40 miles each way to visit relatives. The check-in staff was friendly and there is a code access entry gate to the campground. Too bad they don't escort you to your site as we were towing, missed the turn suggested by the check-in girl and ended up driving through the tent sites, winding through the trees. The campground has some large trees which may preclude satellite usage but the provided cable tv was satisfactory. The campground rules ask that you keep your site clean but our site was quite trashy upon our arrival. The fire pit was full of trash and we felt the maintenance staff was rather put out when we asked the office if they could pick it up. They cleaned the firepit but there was still trash in the grass and gravel. When you pay $60 per night for a campsite, the least you can expect is a clean site. There is a nice dog run. The park was packed with kids who seemed to enjoy the nice pool, peddle cars, petting zoo, and other kid attractions. This park is geared for tents up through large rv's and seems to be family orientated.
This was our first visit to an Escapees park, and we really enjoyed it. The sites are good sized and level. You pay for electricity separately. The area is beautiful. The one thing to remember is to let the water run for a bit before hooking up to your RV or filter. There is a lot of sediment in the water, especially if the site has been inactive for awhile. If you have a washer/dryer you can't use it due to septic restrictions. We would stay here again.
This was a nice park, convenient to the interstate. There was some highway noise noticeable mostly at night. There was a nice swimming pool and a self use dog wash. Very pet friendly. This is a gated campground. We would stay here again.
We love this park. The check-in was fast and very friendly. They escorted us to our site. The restrooms are individual with a sink, toilet and shower. There is shuttle for the casino. We received 10% discount with our players card from the casino. We will stay here again.
This park is very nice and clean. They have 2 sections - 1 for those with pets and 1 for those with. Never, never walk your dog in the non-pet area. We did find we really liked the people in the pet area so that was nice. We find it kind of strange to have 2 areas, but that was ok. The site we were in had no cable. The security guard came to check it out and said it had to be our MH as it worked before. Funny, but our cable worked just fine before and after we were there. They also have no Wi-fi. They don't advertise they have it, but for 2 years now they told us they had it but it wasn't working while we were there. Interesting. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay there. We would stay there again.
This place is indeed beautiful and when they finish with the landscaping it will be a top notch resort. The indoor pool is amazing as is the park. It rates a 10 for sure. Lots of grass and trees. The wi-fi is free and is the fastest we have found on our trip so far. There is a shuttle that runs up until 11 to take you too and from the casino which is across the freeway. We will stay here again.
This is a very nice RV park, but the "free" wi-fi is not there. We have never seen an RV park that advertises they have wi-fi in so many places and then they don't have it. We were never able to connect - no even in the laundry where we were told many could connect. We hope that they really get someone to come in a fix it, or stop advertising they have it. That said, the campground is very clean and quiet. The dog run was ok, but there was no light at all on it at night so we choose not to use it then for our puppy. The sites have very nice grass and young trees. We would stay there again, but only if they wi-fi is working.
This is a very nice park. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The wifi is free and works very well. The only thing that is missing is cable. With that, we would give it a 10. We will stay here again. Silver City is a nice place to visit and has lots of interesting things to do.
What a nice park. Very friendly and clean park. They seem to go out of their way to make your stay a good one. The wi-fi is free and very fast. There is no cable, but there are a lot of stations you can get with the antenna. They have new washers and dryers and have recently redone the electric in the campground as well. It would be nicer with a little more grass, but we don't have a problem with the gravel. We will stay here again next time we are in the area.
This is a nice campground. The sites are narrow, but worked for us with 2 slides. The owners rate a 10 for friendliness! The swimming pool was closed because of the season. There is free wi-fi. There is also a nice campground store. This is a convenient location for accessing Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks. We will stay here again.
This is a nice park to stay in. There is a nice pet area and the staff was very friendly. The wi-fi worked great for us and was only $2. We have stayed here 3 times now and have enjoyed every stay. We will stay here again.
This is a very nice campground. The views of the surrounding mountains are great. It has large level gravel sites. Each site has grass, a shade tree, and picnic table. There are also fire rings at some of the sites for campfires. There is also a small playground. We liked this park because it wasn't crowded like some of the other parks. You feel like you have your own space. We will stay here again.
Very nice park with extremely friendly staff. Gravel, fairly level sites with sparse grass (water scarce). A great abundance of gentle cottontail rabbits. A very nice and clean looking swimming pool. Ice cream social at night. Free wifi! Beautiful views and we would stay there again.
The staff is very friendly and the campground is nice and doesn't seem as crowded as some of the others around here. The pool is very nice and there are a lot of things for kids to do while here. We stayed at a deluxe site so it cost a little more. We had a concrete patio with a nice table and 4 chairs, and our space was a little larger than the others. There is a pancake breakfast every morning. We would stay here again.
